Well, being a Sakura fan kind of sucks now.

Sakura has already had a crap load of developement...compare her to the trash that was Part I Sakura!!!!

First of all she played an important role in defeating SASORI...the guy killed the Third Kazekage known as the strongest Kazekage.

Also, she has become more than likely the greatest medic in the war (considering how Tsunade is down at the moment).

She had her greatest moment of resolve when it came to the whole Bridge where Danzo died....She tried to kill Sasuke, but couldn't...and in those moments decided to take the role a medic does in any situation...she is going to be there for both Naruto and Sasuke in whatever they end up doing.

During the war she told Lee and others how Zabuza could penetrate the Manji defense formation, and later one probably one of the MOST IMPORTANT aspects....when the Neji Zetsu screwed up SHE CAUGHT THAT...some people would've just tossed it by, but not Sakura. And then she managed to take Yamato's intel along with this new Zetsu, and finally allowed the alliance to discover the true terror of Zetsu's power.

Sakura is a medic not a fighter....and this fight is far from over.

She has already healed Kakashi which bolsteres the fighting force that much more. On top of that we still have Shikaku's strategy....which Sakura could easily play a huge role in!

I can understand your frustration....she deffinatly needs more to be a true Heroine of the series....but Kishi doesn't do well with female characters as he said.

I'm a Hinata fan personally so I'm enjoying this little bit of spotlight she is finally getting, but Sakura's developement, while not as good as it should have been, has still been overall greater than any other female character.

She went from a useless fangirl, to a competent fighter, an amazing medic, and someone with a real sense of confusion in character (loving Sasuke who is basically an enemy).
I commend you for the effort and I agree whole heartily. Details were a bit excessive but I'll handle replying.

Seeing as you have respect for other people's feelings is most commendable. It's hard to find a person as yourself to respect other peoples views without the need to insult there faces. Not only did you explain it in a calm matter you even state in a personal way. And that's commendable. Nice reply.

I do agree, very much. I probably just didn't phrase it as well as I could have... given that Naruto and Sasuke are the two main foils to one another, she's there to nudge each of them in their own development. It just seems that, for a main character, she's largely forgotten. Even if Kishi did state he was a bit at a loss on how to write her... maybe write her like some of the guys, as far as making things seem more "human", Lee had the best development for that. You can really feel his struggle to prove himself, while Sakura almost feels like a flake. :(

She's grown a LOT, but I do feel that while the timeskip gave her the biggest singular jump in character, the first arc seemed to give her the best and most believable development.

She represents human weakness and flaws, you can't expect her to magically turn into something perfect.
IF you really want to have a sense of humanity, then yes, things should happen gradually. Sasuke and Naruto are indeed somewhat rushed as you said, but they are the main antagonists to one another of this manga.
And no, she's not a flake. Look at it, everytime she's done something right, her drive pushed her forward to not give up and continue helping Naruto.
If she'd been that flake, as you say, she would've gave up long time ago, yet, she didn't.

Everything, no matter how little can be use in contraversial debates. People disagree to agree and it's an all out war over what Kishimoto states whether true or wrongly false. Either way, leave it to the creator to determine his flaws cause everyone has them. No sense is changing what can't be done. All we can do is wait. And one Manga panal might change all are view on how we look at Sakura and how she can blossom.
Oh I agree...Forest of Death 'nuff said XD!!!! I never read the manga until part II, but I remember watching the anime! Couldn't helpe but think...holy shit is that Sakura!!!!! About time XD!!! Also her decision to become a Medical Ninja at the end...obviously even more developement!

Thanks! I just get so sick of people bashing one character or another....But Sakura just gets pimp slapped around Narutobase o_O....I mean I disliked her treatment of Naruto in Part I, and still have the opinion the Land of Iron confession was wrong (I can understand it could have possible been slightly sincere...I just don't see it), but she isn't the same person at all...she actually cares about Naruto's well being...enough so she is willing to beat the crap out of him in order to do so ;)!!!

Not only that but she expresses her emotions better than anyone. And you can actually sympathizes with it. That part where Sakura tried to convince Sasuke to return to the village on a starry sky. Only to be swayed by emotions as Sasuke said the words "Thank You". The bond of a Shinobi.

Cause the majority dislike her and you can see the noobs pile in as they band wagon. Only reason I can see how Sakura is hated on one instance where she lied to Naruto's face. But is actuality she wanted to lift Naruto from his burden. Sad to say that made him hyperventilated. But it was Sai's fault too...so...eh.

That too. I mean, she took the best out of him. Neither Naruto saw him this way.
That Sasuke wasn't bad, just tormented and needed someone to be next to him to comfort him, however, he was the avenger... :)

I like how they're called among the fandom (the sane one) The Lover, The Friend, The Avenger, The Teacher. :)

Actually, Sai never said Sakura doesn't love Naruto, based on what Naruto said to him (But Sakura chan loves Sasuke) Sai made his little connections and said afterwards that maybe because she loves him wants to stop him from sinking into darkness, bla bla.
Sakura didn't lie to Naruto, she just didn't tell him about what was planned for Sasuke.
Two different things.

I can understand that! Naruto and Sasuke have simply taken almost all of the screen time...pushing Sakura and Kakashi further down compared to them as far as main characters go.

While we can easily see Lee's developement since his goal was to become strong with nothing, but Taijutsu...Sakura's developement has been revolved more around emotion.

Notice in part one she is basically a walking fangirl...Sasuke-kun this and that....then she shows signs of change as Naruto and Sasuke work together...Finally showing her desire to fight during the forest of death. Though once Naruto and Sasuke are back on their feet she once again takes a bit of a step back.

By the end of part one Sakura had gone from a sterotypical fangirl into someone, who while she still loves Sasuke, has reasoned to get stronger to help those around her.

Part II roles in...whole new Sakura! Falcon Punch to the max (hold the fire falcon of course). She has become more concerned for Naruto overall far more than she ever did during Part I (Running to aid him despite his 4-tailed cloak).

She shows a willingness to fight for other besides Naruto and Sasuke as she did by taking a sword for Chiyo!

The one thing Kishi did do was make her seemingly dependant on Naruto...The whole promise in part I...and then during the Pain invasion she starts crying and calls out for Naruto to help.

But then at the Danzo bridge Kishi redeems her in that aspect! He makes her realize she is becomming a burden to Naruto in terms of this promise about Sasuke...and in order to try and help him she tries to bring him back with her by saying she loved him....Naruto wouldn't have any of that.

At the bridge she decides, while she can't change the minds of Naruto and Sasuke. She can be there to help both of them when they do what they do....She went from the dependant girl into the one who is ready to finally do what a medic does: Support. She finally broke that constant fangirl like worshiping or relying on Naruto and Sasuke at the bridge which...while annoying she froze up...Showed us that she has grown into HERSELF and not under the shadows of Naruto and Sasuke!!!!

Naruto does love Sakura and Sakura has feelings for Naruto.

Two instances - Sai and Naruto both talked about Sakura. And Sakura with Yamato show how she cared deeply for Naruto.

Sakura cried knowing she placed a burden on Naruto but she found out later that was not the case. It's not about the promise anymore. Naruto never gives up on a friend. And seeing that he would die with him if they fought.

Really?

Actually that interview had the question from 2008 and added in the interview from 2012 with changed answers only on Sakura's case.
Not to mention that interview where he supposedly said Hinata would make a better heroine, was mistranslated and actually Kishi never said that, but meh, biased translators...
Yep I've definetly seen this before

I wouldn't get down about anything, if kishi says there one more year for the manga. Dude theirs a lot of development time. Who cares that the hyugas finally got there few chapters of fame, Kishi said himself that he wanted to try an illuminate each of the Kohana 11.

Sakura hasn't done much in a while, but she's done her job, and I'm darn sure we'll see something from her eventually. I feel we'll see something from all the Kohana 11 at least once.

Yes and the tricky part here is how Naruto sees Sakura and how Sai sees Sakura. Naruto sees her the 12 years old Sakura and therefore makes Sai see her like that as well when they come into conclusion about Sasuke thing.

Also, notice how Yamato was like "what is happening here" . Yamato knows Sakura, Yamato knows the fact Sakura won't show her feelings for Naruto normally and we take a step back at the Tenchi bridge, when she got hurt because of Naruto and when Naruto saw that she said it was Orochimaru, only not to hurt his feelings. Afterwards Yamato is the one who tells Naruto the truth.
So he got to know her and the fact that she doesn't easily speak about her feelings and that something must've happened to her in order to confess to him.
The only part where she got indeed very mechanical, in a way, was when she said she was over Sasuke. She said the truth about how Sasuke hurts her feelings (later brought up in 540 but everyone saw it totally different) and the truth about loving Naruto because he makes her feel safe and if we look at the Sakura/Sasuke, Sakura/Naruto relationship we can clearly see that.
However, the truth was, indeed that she was not over him, yet, but the reason was the fact that she clings to the memory of an old Sasuke (remembering the 12 years old Sasuke when tried to kill him, same as Naruto saw her).
Kishi intentionally is mixing things because at the end, he will get back to the Part 1 Naruto.
We already started to see that, he's starting to close character development, Neji was killed, but his death meant much more than a kill, we'll see Kishi closing other K11 character development in this war but the last ones will be Sakura,Sasuke and Naruto.
And when they'll fight, it will be that three-way-deadlock back in Part 1 with the Sannins, only that now, with Team 7.
Just wait and see. ;)
Patterns fit... and we all know Kishi goes by that.

"Even Hinata, who in the manga has next to no buildup with Naruto, nothing to show that they even interact outside of the battlefield.... has more character growth (as well as a sudden frontline position in terms of character focus)."

This right here is beyond wrong. Even before the academy days Naruto and Hinata had history..... There were numerous flashbacks throughout the series when Naruto stood up for Hinata while she was getting bullied.

All the times we've seen Hinata cheer for Naruto... whether in class, on the street or thinking of him during training.....

"Sakura always had more buildup, more promise of potential, only for Kishimoto to write her off as one of the more pathetic kunoichi. Yes, she has amazing medical talent and chakra control, and super strength due to it... and next to nothing to show for it. Some brief Naru/Saku type scenes that show she might finally be moving on and growing up and then Kishi just puts her right back to fantasizing about Sasuke. I understand he was her childhood love but after so long, even a weaker woman would have moved on by now. It's unrealistic."

Also find this a very invalid statement. Naruto must be weak as well for wanting to see Sasuke saved. Sakura has done so much as far as medical support - don't forget that ever.

Also note who is on her team.... KAKASHI, YAMATO, NARUTO, SAI.... All of them are elite... especially Naruto...

Remember when Naruto fought Pein? what did Shikaku say to Shikimaru? (DON'T GET IN NARUTO'S WAY... HE'S ON A WHOLE NEW LEVEL).....

So why the Sakura is useless attitude? I'll admit her fighting skills aren't on par with her team, but neither are most ninjas.....

She's proven her abilities as a fighter, and most certainly as a medic and leader (organizing people\medical things)

The only thing I dislike is her (seemingly) massive lack of emotional maturity... but I have to credit that to storyline as much as I hate that excuse.

Simple, Kakashi, Naruto and Sasuke all showed how much they developed. Sakura will come back, just wait and see. All her fans will be happy. I don't know if she will survive the story but she will do something great as she did before. When she saved Kankuro and fought Sasori, she kicked ass, no matter what her haters say.

Yeah, the glowing healing hands is getting old. She needs to do some Frankenstein stuff that would make her more epic. Something like full head transplants, grafting fully functional extra limbs. You know, stuff like that. In all honesty, I think an opportunity was missed with her and Kabuto. It would have been neat to see evil Dr. vs good Dr. Let there abominations fight it out.

You're wrong. You're "buildup" with Hinata never happened in the manga. That was some crap the anime made up. That thing with the bullies never happened.
