First Jutsu:
Perform the technique:

I mold my charka into my mouth. I than proceed to change the element of my charka to water style. After than I focus on an image of compressed water forming into a ball. I than take a deep breath in. As I exhale I combine my charka with my breath causing water to start forming into a condensed ball of water before heading towards my opponent.
Creative uses/strengths:
- This attack could be combine with gale palm to increase its speed and power
- I would use this jutsu after hiding in the mist to make sure my opponent doesn't notice my attack
- Effective if you combine it with depth charge (lightning)
Drawbacks/counters:
- Its not one of the fastest jutsu to create
- requires visual contact so you could aim the jutsu
- An earth pillar would be enough to stop it

Second Jutsu:
Perform the technique:
I mold my charka into my feet. Once I have enough charka I change the element to water style. After that I focus my mind on summoning up from the ground a small water source. I than proceed to do the following six hand seals Tiger β†’ Dog β†’ Monkey β†’ Snake β†’ Boar β†’ Tiger. After that I release my charka into the ground causing water to appear giving me a water source and protects me from a grand fireball heading in my direction.
Creative uses/strengths:
- effective if a Great Fireball is heading your way
- Great at giving a water summoning the ability to move
- effective in places like the desert where you need water
Drawbacks/counters:
- Weak to most earth style jutsu
- You have a limited amount of water jutsu you can use
- Easily stopped because it requires six hand seals

Note: Must be a large water source such as a lake to use.

Okay so this is a very basic and ordinary technique in all honesty. Its purpose is when the user is underwater they will propel themselves through the water by releasing their chakra throughout their body. This can also mask the users presence while underwater making it tough for the random ninja to find you but a sensory or dojutsu is able to. It can work for snick attacks and its handy when you are caught underwater. Its a fast jutsu to use and rather simple. Though this can only be used in water sources like rivers, lakes, oceans, etc.

Not much to really talk about here. Its very fast to perform and simple as well. the user will release a set of water from the palm of their hands towards the opponent. It has an impact property forcing them back which makes its main purpose is close range battle which is actually very handy. Its also good to douse out certain fire attacks and clear away smoke.

First jutsu:
Perform the technique:
I mold charka throughout my body as some random ninja comes by and accidentally uses dynamic entry to send me flying into the depth of a conveniently located lake. I than change my charka nature to water style. Once I have enough charka I focus on the image of my charka increasing my speed in the water. I than release my charka into the water which immediately causes me to speed towards the surface of the water before I drowned by some ninja I fully intend to get revenge on later.
Creative uses/strengths:
- An effective way for moving out of long range
- Great for increasing your maneuverability underwater
- Effective if some one tries to drown you and you defend yourself against the jutsu
Drawbacks/counters:
- Easily countered if your opponent shoot lightning into the water
- ineffective if your opponent has some way to sense charka
- Water source is a major weak point

Second Jutsu:
Perform the technique:
I mold my charka into my left hand silently trying to figure out which way that blasted shinobi went. Once I have enough charka I change my element to water style. I than proceed to focus on the image of a power stream of water rushing towards a flame to quench it. I than proceed to release the pent up charka onto a fire that started just after a lightning jutsu almost hit my soaking wet body. My charka creates the powerful stream of water by taking the water from my clothes and the environment.
Creative uses/strengths:
- Very effective since it has a fast release speed
- I could use a water bushin to use this jutsu after I trap my opponent in a water prison
- I could add wave of inspiration from a clone to severally damage an opponent
Drawbacks/counters:
- Ineffective against large scale fire jutsus
- Since it connects to the users hand it will mostly likely enable lightning to hit you
- Limited range unlike most water style jutsu

Another basic but very flexible attack. After performing the required hand seals they will manipulate a water source to create a streaming water which can be guided by the opponents chakra while maintaining complete focus on it. It can hit a number of targets as well as act as a barrier. You must maintain focus on it but its a handy jutsu. Due to its mobility it can move through tight spaces and hit in angle most would find difficult.

A surprise attack jutsu, while your opponent is standing on top of a water source. It is considered a jutsu for distractions and set up mainly for attacks. You're opponent must be on a water source.

I mold my charka into the palm of my hands. I than change the element to water style once I have enough charka. I than proceed to do to the following hand seals Boar β†’ Dog β†’ Horse β†’ Tiger. After that I focus my mind on the image of a stream of water heading towards people to hit them and surround them. I than release my charka causing water from a nearby river to stream up and hit a few ninjas that were preparing to aim a jutsu towards me.
Creative uses/strengths:
- Extremely useful if used for combo's
- Great for drowning people
- Effective against multiple opponents
Drawbacks/counters:
- Weak against no hand seal jutsus
- Ineffective against opponents using earth based jutsu
- Requires a water source nearby

Second technique
Perform the technique:
I mold my charka into my feet. I than proceed to step onto a lake. Once I have enough charka I change its element to water style. I than proceed to focus on the image of a whirlpool mid range from me and ending just short of me. I than proceed to release my charka. This creates a whirlpool mid range from me and ending just short of me.
Creative uses/strengths:
- Great at disorienting your foe
- Effective if you place earth spears under the eye of the whirl pool
- Great if you combine it with Water Release: Water Shark Breakthrough because the whirlpool will guide your opponent into it.
Drawbacks/counters:
- Useless unless your on water source like a river or lake
- Acts better as a distraction than anything else
- It can effect you as well

Description:After performing the Ram β†’ Snake β†’ Tiger hand seals the user creates a flammable black mist that forms a small cloud. The user can then move the cloud above their target and disperse it, covering the target in flammable oil.

A supplementary jutsu. The user after performing the required hand seals will create a black mist cloud right above the opponent where its size is just big enough to cover a short range of where it is placed but the cloud itself can be moves up to mid range of your own location. The black cloud will begin to rain a flammable substance (oil). It does not cause any restriction of movement but its main purpose is to ignite it with fire to completely burn the opponent severely. Now if you are ever caught using a full body wind jutsu can easily blow the oil away.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar β†’ Dog β†’ Ram the user creates a waterfall by developing spring water in a place without water veins and manipulating the resulting water current to form a wave. This is a very convenient technique as it can be used for training or relaxation. On the other hand, because it changes the environment on a large scale, it also has the effect of hiding one's location from the enemy by confusing them. The width of the water source, waterfall, and basin can be expended, as long as the user continues to send chakra in.

Basic technique the user does 3 hand seals and controls water veins that run down a mountain making it very location based to use properly. Water will begin to fall from it creating a water fall. The more chakra you send the larger the water fall itself can become. This can be used to set up certain water techniques that require a water source being a good source. It can make your presence if you hide behind it, it be hard for the opponent to find you as well as you can do a surprise attack. Though with sensory and dojutsu users would not be the best idea to do.

Creative uses/strengths:
- Great if your using a lightning jutsu to spark the oil (if possible)
- Very helpful if you add a thin stream of fire style
- I could add fire style after it to capitalize on the weak point of it Increases fire styles power
Drawbacks/counters:
- hard to use in actual combat because of how ineffective it is if used improperly
- Weak attack range. You can easily shift out of its path
- Increase fire styles power

I mold my charka into my feet. Once I have enough charka I proceed to change its nature to water style. After that I focus on drawing up the hidden within the veins of the earth. After that I make the following hand signs Boar β†’ Dog β†’ Ram. I than proceed to release my charka into the ground 5 feet in front of me to create a water fall of water.
Creative uses/strengths:
- I could use this jutsu to summon the water for another jutsu
- an Effective way to prevent your opponent from doing a taijutsu fight
- A great way to defend against B rank fire style jutsu
Drawbacks/counters:
- It can easily be turned against you if your opponent follows up with a large water style jutsu
- make your presence obvious to sensor
- Increase the power lightning when it hits you

With the heat of the lightning I would say it could. By the way you don't release the cloud from your mouth but send the chakra above the opponent.

(Suiton: Mizu Tsurudan) - Water Release: Water Tendril Bullets

Note: Must create a water clone before hand.

After making a water clone it will go close to the opponent and by the will of the opponent, the clone will dissolve back into water and suddenly 4 projectile which are quite sharp will act to try and impale the opponent. You must have a water clone first before you do this tech. You can use the clone to get in close to the opponent making evasion much more difficult to perform. Its also a sudden technique so it can deceive the opponent if used correctly. Its a straightforward tech and after the projectiles have been sent your done from their and you can continue to another tech.


(Suiton: Mizu Yashiken no Jutsu) - Water Release: Water Palm Blade Technique

Description: The user will first strike their target with couple of punches and kicks them lifting the target into the air and the user will then concentrate their chakra into their palm and then swinging their arm in a arc they release chakra creating a cresent blade of water that strike the target.

Okay a straightforward technique. After doing some quick body movement attacks, like punches and kicks. You will finally launch the opponent in the air and while the opponent is airborne the user will concentrate water chakra in their palm and swing it towards the hanging opponent releasing a crescent blade of water which will act to impale the opponent on contact. Now this is a basic technique and very good for close range usage. Having good speed and fluid movement would work well with this jutsu, using drunken fist would be a great combo. An opponent in the air has very little they can do. Ways to counter is if the opponent gets in close range, you can use a armor to hurt their fist. One of the many counters.

I than have it turn into four pointed projectiles and release it towards my opponent.

- great distraction against your opponent
- easily comboed with genjutsu
- wind style could boost those projectiles attack power
Drawbacks/counters:
- I could use hiding in the mist to blind my opponent
- I could use hiding like a mole to dodge it

Hiding like a mole to dodge it? @_@ No that would not work at all, what you can do is while the tendrils begin to erect use a armor. But if there is a clone coming in close range of yourself you have to try and kill him before he gets in range. Also I don't ever want to here substitution as a counter, that is considered a last resort. Re-do this two sets, I'm disappointed in them.

Description: The user will manipulate their chakra and then they create water to rise up from the ground beneath the target lifting them into the air.

A simple but handy jutsu. It can be used quickly without a hand seals or water source. You can rise a pillar of below the opponent to send them high into the air which from their you can send an attack. Its great for combos. Also you can even use it for yourself to send you mid-air and evade certain attacks and since it causes no damage you can send a attack with no hesitation. If user ever against you, one thing you can do is send a stream of wind to push yourself back to evade attacks.


( Suiton: Haretsu sui Yashi ) - Water Release: Water Bursting Palm

Description: After making the ram hand seal the user generates water around their right arm and then by thrusting their arm forwards they release the water in the form of a projectile bullet that drives through the opponent pushing them back several feet.

A very basic jutsu. First of all it requires one hand seal and it can only work short range. This is a very large risk to take because though its one hand seal a opponent can easily use a taijutsu move before you fully perform the technique. Its a basic short range attack and nice to use. The user will create a water around their arm and send a projectile bullet which acts to forcefully push the opponent back. Its also fast moving bullet, if you are able to fully perform the technique then evasion is very difficult. A nice jutsu I recommend trying to restrict the opponents movement so you can fully perform it accurately.

First Jutsu:
Perform the technique:
I mold my Charka into my feet. I than proceed to change its nature to water style. After that I focus in on my target and imagine a water pillar forming beneath him and throwing him up. I than proceed to release my charka into the ground beneath me and than I send my charka over to where my target is. After that my charka causes a water pillar to throw my target into the air.
Creative uses/strengths:
- You could use the water pillar to thrust people into a fissure with earth spears at the bottom
- Another great combo would be to use the jutsu would be to use it as a water source for another water jutsu
- A great combo would be to use a chidori spear to electrify the water once you launch the water pillar
Drawbacks/counters:
- If you use a higher ranking jutsu it could act as a water source
- If its used on yourself a simple lightning spear would be effective in damaging you
- Its lack of damage points give the opponent time to counter the next jutsu

Second Jutsu:
Perform the technique:
I molds my Charka into my right hand. Once I have enough charka I change the element to water style. I than proceed to do the ram hand seal and envision my hand getting covered in water. I than release my charka and water starts to form on my right hand. Once my arm is completely covered in water I release it creating a water bullet
Creative uses/strengths:
- A great combo would be to use electric murder to stun your opponent as you start molding your charka into water
- Another great combo would be to use chidori stream to stun your opponent first than follow up with this jutsu
- A great combo would be to use earth shaking than this jutsu so you can complete it before your opponent counters it

Drawbacks/counters:
- Another way to counter it would be to send an earth pillar to block it
- An effective counter while the water is on your hand is to send a burst of lightning at your opponent
- requires a hand seal and the jutsu only reaches short range

( Suiton: Seisuiryu ) - Water Release: Azure Water Stream

Description: The user will create a moving body of water beneath him that travels towards the opponent carrying the user. They then slash the opponent with their sword multiple times.

Okay this is actually a handy jutsu but is misused many times. The user will simply create a pool of water beneath them which acts to carry the opponent forward. Not side to side, it acts to only move one direction towards the opponent. Its good to evade certain techniques. Now when you reach the opponent, you take out your sword and slash him up to bits. Its a fast acting jutsu so its hard for the opponent to note come in contact though the pool can only move mid range at most. Its a nice jutsu to use for close range battle. A simple counter which you can turn into a offense is electrifying the water, shock the opponents feet.


( Suiton: Nagareru no Muchi ) - Water Release: Flowing Whip

Description: The user first kneads chakra in their mouth and then, placing their hand on their mouth expels water in the form of a whip which they use to lash their opponent, sending them flying backwards.

Okay a streaming water technique meaning you will have to keep constant control over its movement and where you send it. You will basically send a stream of water towards the opponent which acts to lash or whip the opponent and send the back some meters. Now its hard to evade since its streaming so you can specifically aim and control as long as you remain focused. Blocking is the best thing to do for this jutsu as a line of defense.


( Suiton: Shawa ) - Water Release: Showers

Description: The user condenses water vapour in the air above them to generate multiple projectiles of water which shoot at their target with a great amount of force and speed. The user can also shoot a barrage of small water projectiles directly from the swing of their hand.

This is a very useful technique. The user will use water vapor in the air wot create many water projectile attacks. They are very sharp as well as powerful. They can be made anywhere around short-mid range of the user and can be sent anywhere. Since they are projectile based attacks you can use them with combos. Masking kunais would be a smart but basic idea. They are guided by the swing of the users hand when aiming. It is very fast to perform as well as fast moving, perks include how simple but effective it is as well as no water source. Simple blocking of the projectiles can be used.

Second Jutsu:
Perform the technique:
I mold my Charka into my mouth. I than change my Charka into water. I than proceed to inhale. I than focus on creating a lash in my mind. Once I have enough Charka I place my hand on my mouth and I release it from my mouth as I exhale. I focus the water into a lash shape as it starts to appear. Once it forms I send it at my opponent. I than proceed to have it avoid any obstacle my opponent creates.
Creative uses/strengths:
I could use a clone to add wave of inspiration
I could have a shadow clone use gale palm to increase its power
Drawbacks/counters:
I could use world shaking to disrupt my opponent control over the technique
I could use earth spears to kill my opponent before the Jutsu gets close to me

Third Jutsu:
Perform the technique:
I mold my Charka throughout my body. I than proceed to change the nature to water style. After that I focus on the image of water vapor condensing to form projectiles. Once I have enough Charka I send I release it. I than proceed to focus on the image in my head. This causes my Charka to form 5 feet above my head and start shoring water projectiles at my target.
Creative uses/strengths:
I could use it to mask paper bombs getting thrown at my enemy.
I could use it to prevent my opponent from noticing snake constriction gen.
I could use bringer of darkness to hide it to garuntee it hitting my foe
Drawbacks/counters:
- fairly obvious and easy to counter with an earth pillar
- a simple wind Jutsu could Guide the water away

5. Water bushin- who can't think of a way to use an extra pair of hands

Basic technique after performing the 3 hand seals required the user will create a vortex around the palm of his hand, then with a thrust aiming towards the opponent he will release it in hopes to attack or defend the opponent. Now it has a couple of hand seals and overall may take some time you can look in the anime yourself to notice. Its nice streaming technique with an intent to harm the opponent in two ways, pushing them back with a powerful thrust, and getting the opponent wet. Other then this notes its basic.

Tobirama was able to use this technique with a single hand seal showing testiment to his skill in water ninjutsu.

A very famous and destructive jutsu that really in my opinion is one of the bests in the suiton list. Now yes unless you specialize in water for your bio, you will have to complete all of those hand seals. After the hand seals is done the user will manipulate the near by water source to rise it and mold its shape to create a very powerful dragon. The user must remain focus during the performance and until he sends the dragon to the opponent. Now it has the raw power to seriously hurt the opponent as well as drench the area, depending on the terrain, where and what type of water source. Little to say its main purpose is to be as offensive as it can be. A huge downside to it is those hand seals. The amount of time to perform them would take very long, in the midst of battle.


(Suiton: Suiryuben) - Water Style: Water Dragon Whip

Description: After performing the Tiger hand seal the user creates an orb of water from which several sharp whips of water emerge. Those whips can then be directed towards one or multiple targets, impaling them on impact.

This is a useful technique, quick and easy as well. With the Tiger hand seal the user will create a orb to appear anywhere he/she desires, I recommend a little but close to you. Now while always remaining focused towards the orb the user will release multiple whips out of the orb directed all over the area where the opponent is. The whips are highly flexible and very fast pace. They can be released anywhere on the orb, and towards any part of the field since it deals a long range.

I mold my Charka into my left hand. I than proceed to change my element to water once I have enough Charka. I than proceed to think about creating a spiraling vortex of water. I than proceed to make the following hand seals Boar ? Dog ? Ram. After that I release my Charka into the air in front of my hand. Once the spiral vortex of water starts to form I release it towards my target.
Creative uses/strengths:
I could add a lightning spear electrify the water
I could use gale palm to increase its speed
Drawbacks/counters:
Hiding in the mist would be an effective way to blind your opponent
I could send a chidori stream at my opponent.

I than proceed to release my Charka into the water in the lake nearby to. This creates a dragon shaped bullet that I send towards my opponent once it's fully formed.
Creative uses/strengths:
I could trap my oppenent in swamp of the underworld than fire off this technique.
I could use rain of tiger at will to check my opponent location and make sure he can't interfere with the hand seals.
Drawbacks/counters:
The raw amount of hand seals
I could use earth spears to kill my opponent as he is casting the seals

Third Jutsu:
Perform the technique:
I mold my Charka into my left hand. I than proceed to change it to water style Charka once I have enough Charka. I than proceed to make the tiger hand seal. I than focus on the image of several orbs of water whipping out at my opponent in whip forms to skewer my opponent. I than release my Charka into the water. I than have the orbs of water appear a couple of feet to my left and than have them send whips at my opponent.
Creative uses/strengths:
Great range and I could use a clone to use gale palm to strengthen the technique
I could add lightning with a lightning bushin to harm my target
Drawbacks/counters:
If sent at long range a simple technique like hiding like a mole will allow you to dodge it
I could use a genjutsu to freeze my target before he completed the release of his Charka

Performance
When it comes to the performing point of the template, its all about imagination but this one is considered the most obvious of the whole template. When the student performs something you need to paint a picture in the teachers head to give them a clear image of everything that is going on and how you are reacting or feeling about the jutsu. Each jutsu will give different feelings and reaction. It is your job simply to show me how and what you are feeling and what is going on when performing the jutsus.

The things I expect in the performance are two things that are most important when performing the jutsus. The first is called Nature Manipulation. Nature manipulation is when the user will manipulate or control their raw chakra to change in basic nature which is one of the five basic elements. Now most people like to simply say something like this:
I gather my chakra and nature manipulate it into lightning chakra.
Yes this is okay but where is the creativity or the respect of actually wanting to perform and feel the jutsu? Now to explain every basic element properly on how to manipulate chakra into nature with more imagination and creativity such examples like this would work.
With my raw chakra gathered I begin to take focus upon the chakra. I begin to think of the warmth of the very sun and the blazing heat it gives off, I condense the chakra and finally mold the chakras nature into fire.

After gathering my chakra, I begin to take full control over it. I sharpen the chakra having the precious sharpness that surpasses that of a sword. Successfully I mold the chakra into wind chakra.
Now this is pretty much the basis when it comes to nature manipulation on how I see fit and what is best to impress your teacher. Now if you are wondering about how should I explain all the natures, well think about their property. Lightning has high frequent vibration and electrical sharpness, fire is superheated and blazing warm, water is free-flowing and very flexible, earth is rough and versatile, wind is sharp and thin with great accuracy. To be able to explain them you simply have to free your mind and become as creative as you can.

Now I can understand some times you don't want to go that deep into the jutsu because some are more simple then others and I can understand that, all I ask is to try and not be lazy with it.

The second thing that is most important when performing a jutsu correctly is called Shape manipulation. Now this is when you take the chakra or the chakra nature and shape it into any form or shape it requires to be properly formed. Shapes include spheres, animals (All types), blades, ect. This is all about attention to detail, and how precious you want to be when trying to perform the jutsu. Now here is a regular example that is done usually.
I manipulate the shape of my chakra to form a bullet.
Though again, that is not exactly wrong but where is the fun and creativity in that? This is all about paying attention to detail and how much you want to focus up on it. Here are some other examples that are more suffice.
After gathering my lightning chakra, I lengthen its size and sharpen the edge of the chakra to create a spear of lightning.

As I gather my chakra and release it forward, I begin to shape it and make it round as well as smooth leaving no bumps to create a spherical ball of chakra.
This is pretty much all it takes nothing more or less. You do not need to go extreme but detail is always best not only for me as a teacher but when you get in the habit of making proper and creative replies it will follow you in battle and help you greatly their when the time comes.

Creative uses/strengths

Now we are getting to the important part of all this. Now with this template I expect two things each with a total amount of detail. What I mean is firstly I expect you to tell me the strengths of a certain jutsu, I don't care how it works. I want to know what makes it useful. Things like that can include the jutsu is able to move in all ranges giving it a large amount of mobility. Another is you can send multiple attacks with one jutsu to attack more then one opponent or trying to barrage the opponent with attacks to make evasion difficult. Yes this are quite the small strengths but stuff like this count in the eyes of a teacher and needs to be taken in account. Though those are just some small examples what you really need to do is look into the jutsu itself. Try adding all or as much strengths with what you see in the jutsu. Also I understand some jutsus are more simple then others and might not have as much advantages but that is okay, its all about trying and thinking about it. But I do expect 1-3 strengths mentioned.

Lastly to perfect the strength portion, this is simple but something so many students fail to do. When you give a strength explain why that is considered a strength. Yes explain why. This is the most important part because it shows us how you plan on using it in battle and the teacher will be able to pick out what you have done wrong specifically. So simply saying it goes long range does not make it a hardcore advantage because if you think about it, that can also be considered a disadvantage. So by saying that it is very wrong and can confuse the teacher, all we really do is assume and guess what you are trying to say. So trying to perfect it, you would need to say something like this.This is the correct and proper way in doing the strength portion of the template.
The jutsu goes in long range, because of this the opponent will not be able to evade that easily by just pushing back and it can correspond with other jutsus.
Now the second portion of the template is creative usages. What is this is simply a combo or something you would do with the jutsu. This helps the teachers notice your style and what you are likely to accomplish in fighting so if you are doing anything wrong we can inject it and fix it so you do not make a mistake in battle. This is all about just being creative, every jutsu has a unique usage and can be used creatively or at the very least used in correspondence with other jutsus to create a combo to attack the opponent or turn the table on them.

Simple combos are of all kind, and most teachers will explain the jutsus usually giving a combo or a usage you can use, but it is the very basic of it. It is simply meant to show you how it is meant to be used or just to give you an idea. All because the teacher says it does not mean we want you to repeat what we said. You need to come up with another detail or combo. Simple combos could be like sending a fire jutsu towards the opponent and then use a jutsu to shake the ground to put the opponent off balance so it will be hard to react with the attack, and a more powerful combo could be when sending a fire jutsu direct it towards the ground and then send a single blade of wind behind the fire, which you can then activate the blade to turn into a hurricane to create a powerful fire vortex. Though with newer RPers they tend to sometimes use basic combos because they have seen less of the jutsu list or understand it less then others, but when you move on and learn more jutsu creating combos become much more easier and you begin to take action effectively.

Drawbacks/counters

Now this is the complete opposite of the strengths and creative usages. This is as equal as the strengths and creative usages for it allows the teacher to see exactly how is your understanding of the jutsu. Usually when people look at jutsus they tend to leave this with very little detail and failure to explain it properly. This is because many people believe disadvantages are to obvious to try and explain on why its a disadvantage which is the wrong mentality when doing this point. There are things with drawbacks and counter that need to be taken in account. What I usually expect from the student here is at least 1-3 drawbacks and at least one counter for the jutsu you would do.

Drawbacks when looking into it is not explained from the student, it is usually because of the double standards people give to jutsus. As I explained in the above long range attacks would be great attacks but their are disadvantages to them, one being is if the opponent is long range it will take much more time for the attack to reach the opponent so they will be able to counter the attack with ease. The thing is when it comes to advantages their will always be a disadvantage to that very thing. If something is great to use in short range battle it is useless in long range, if the jutsu is a projectile technique it can be used with combos but the jutsu will usually be straightforward and easy to anticipate. This is something always to consider when writing disadvantages that they're will always be one as long as you have listed advantages or mention them. So if you have two advantages mentioned then their is a huge likely hood that their will be two disadvantages with that, so their should not be much of a ratio difference between the two.

Listing proper drawbacks all depends on the way you fight and how you see the jutsu being used, usually it is looked at if the jutsu is sent or used against you, what would be the initial weaknesses you would sense. Firstly too look into listing them you have to take account everything in your senses and the jutsu concept. When it comes to the senses examples include if you send a large fire attack towards the opponent you will likely not be able to see through the fire so you won't be able to see how they are moving or what they are doing. If the opponent tries to use a jutsu with earth release that uses the ground as a medium you will be able to use your sense of feel, to feel the density of the ground begin to shift or change. Stuff like this are obvious disadvantages. Now when it comes with the jutsu concept those are usually the usual people tend to look into, so lets say the chidori only works in close range battle so it can't be used for anything but close range battle limiting the jutsu. Also jutsus that have long list of hand seals are disadvantages because it might take some time to perform the jutsu leaving you open. Streaming techniques are usually not good to use with combos but you have complete control where you aim them. (Notice their how their is a disadvantage but also a advantage because of that ability)

Lastly when it comes to countering the jutsu. Now how teachers picture your combos is usually as if the jutsu has already been sent so saying things like:
While he is performing the long list of hand seals I will send an attack before he completed them.
Yes they work but it will not always be the case like that so you need to be able to counter it as if it was already sent, though its not bad to mention that aspect saying because of the hand seals you can counter before he completes them but it is not what we look at, you are not simulating a battle situation, and that is what teachers what you to try to do and how they want to teach as if you were in battle. Remember when we were talking about how disadvantages work? Those are usually what a person will look at when trying to counter the jutsu, so lets say the opponent sends a lightning blade towards you as a projectile attack, this is what is acceptable.
Due to the fact it is straight forward and easy to notice (See the disadvantage) I can simply figure out where it is heading and I can create a dense defense like a wall or try to overpower it.
So using those disadvantages you listen can be used to make the proper counter towards the jutsu so remember that.

Lastly it is the type of counters we want to see. When it comes to countering a jutsu we don't want you just to stop the jutsu, we want you to turn the table and go on the offense so to impress try to add ways to not only defend but attack as well. Also try not to spam the same counter over and over, what I mean by that is if the opponent sends a lightning attack don't just say:
I will send a wind attack to overpower it.
That is far to generic, yes some techs are more straightforward then others but those should be the ones you can formulate better counters with, its okay to experiment and say something new or outside the box, that is what teachers want to see and what they expect. So instead of using a wind jutsu, why not use a water pillar to launch you in the air and then send a attack to go on the quick offense? Simple yes, but at least it is not generic and overdone.

So that is the basis of everything, all in all try to have fun and be creative with it, this is meant for enjoyment as well as a learning experience.
