Takeno took his time through this landmark. It was a moment of calm after he had almost got concussed in the impending rock storm. He walked slowly finding a new compassion for the old fortresses. He moved onward to the Graveyard of Sin

Takeno and Keiko walked through this biome at a steady place. "My feet hurt." Takeno looked down at Keiko, who was looking down at her feet. He sighed and created a medium sized paper dog for her to ride. They continued their venture towards Takinomori

Coming From Here

Rescue: HAVE NO FEAR! BECAUSE I AM HERE!
Rank: B
Description: A recent natural disaster or attack upon a small settlement in our lands has left a large building collapsed. Several dozen individuals including the elderly, men, women and children have become trapped inside of the building calling out for help. You are a first responder tasked with clearing a large portion of the rubble and saving as many lives as you can. Be careful it seems the land below the building has been destabilized by the damage making Earth Release techniques especially dangerous to use in this scenario. You are expected to save no less than five people from the collapse and ferry them to temporary safety. You can either create a small quarantined area or you can seek out the hospital providing the injured with a safe place through is a requisite of the mission. A medical shinobi can aid you in this endeavor by creating the save area and healing the patients you provide to them making this a group mission or you can perform it completely solo.

Solf finally made to the landmark. He walks along the landmark and finds settlement that looks like someone has attacked it. There are multiple buildings and you can hear multiple people screaming and yelling for help. There were already people trying to help out the people. There were people on the side that have been taken out of some of the buildings. Solf activates his three tomeo sharingan. He walks all over to some of the buildings and is looking at them and using the ability to see through a meter thick substance. While looking through he moves his eyes through and through the buildings observing the structure. He was thinking the buildings he could hold them all together with his wood release jutsu and this would prevent the buildings from following. He could use vines, roots, and even just wooden sticks or pillars to hold the buildings. He had to act quick because we can't predict if something with shift or an earthquake will happen.

All right lets do it.

Solf had one thing he needed to do first or at less quick to do so the medical nins like himself could help out after getting more people out of the buildings. He walked over to the center of the settlement and performs five hand seals. Right there where he stands under him the ground erupts up from below a building. This building had the words "Temp Hospital" on the front of it. It was building so all the people injured to sit and get all healed up. The building had three floors with fifth rooms in the whole building. With one hand seal and still standing on top of this new building he project his voice so everyone can hear him.

Everyone this is where we will have all the injured people and heal them up. If we have any medical shinobis here please help out and use your knowledge to help these people in need.

Solf leaps off the building and starts to head towards the biggest building that seems like no one has yet to touch but can hear the screams from it. Some are fading and some are going in and out. Solf rushes over and and slams his hands on the ground. He has thick vines to erupt from the ground and the building its self. The vines all interlock with each other to hold the building together. This is step one of the plan of his to save some of these people. Solf know he can't save al the people in this building. It is like any experiment it all have some that die and some survive. Solf smiled as he needed some specimens.

Solf walks up to the building and enters it slowly. He moves his eyes slowly across the building looking and searching for chakra signatures. He can see a few on the bottom floor. Some of them are fading and two of them are still there but fading slower then the others. Solf moves to the left and steps on a dead body hand that he didn't see. This body was cut which was strange. Solf didn't get any blood or anything on his body luckily. He didn't pay it any mind but still remembered it and how it looked. He moves through again ducking under stairs that are hanging from the ceiling. He make sit to the first body. This young lady had to be in her early twenties. She was past out but her chakra was slowly fading. He picked up her body and places it over his left shoulder. He takes the same way out of there but avoids the dead body on the ground. He finally makes it outside and the lady starts to come to and he rushes over to the building that he created. The building doesn't have any door so he walks through and see someone has put beds in there. This was unique ability if they created them. He places the lady on one of the beds. He takes out a black pill and crushes it. He pours the crushed up pill into her mouth to restore back most of her chakra. He holds her mouth closed to have the pill desolve and takes affect and she is just past out by this chakra lost. Kimblee takes back off and heads into the building. The chakra signatures from earlier that were fading faster have all gone. They are dead and the others are still fading slowly. Solf recognized this as someone was stealing chakra from these people. What was really going on here? There is a person cut and people are losing chakra to someone else. Solf has never seen this before on this scale.

He moves through the middle of the building and had to jump over a bench. Kimblee noticed some of the vines were coming apart. They weren't strong enough for to long to hold the building together.

Shit, need to get more of these people out. I need to use that ability.

He was thinking of progress his sharingan even more. He transforms his sharingan into the EMS and then changed to the Rinnegan. He activated the Asura Path and created two extra arms on his shoulders(one for each shoulder). Solf moves through and can see the chakra near him. The pillar on the left side starts to fall and the person is right in hits way. He quickly took out four kunais with explosive tags on them and throws them and the pieces of the pillar falling. They blow up and the pillars turns into smaller rocks that fall into different directions. These wouldn't harm anyone and Solf is hit with a few and dust himself off. He picks up the body and hands it to his arms on his shoulders so they hold the body towards his backside with one hand holding behind the ladies neck and the other hand holding under the legs. The Rinnegan user moves through the building more deeper in and to the left and then right again avoiding more pillars falling. He stopped in his tracks as a pillar fell to the ground and dust feels the area in front of him up. The dust settles and he can see someone running out the back of the building as they got up. He thought he it was just his imagination so he didn't put any deep thoughts into it.

Hmm

He walks towards the right and picks up another body. This man had a pillar crush his right leg so Solf had to grab this man differently specially since this virus is going around he didn't need to get infected anymore then he was already. He created wooden hands from his own hands that he used to grab the man and they had outside. The building was starting to come down even more. This wasn't going to hold up to much longer. The front door where he had came through was blocked off. He started sweating and get hot.

He inhales and exhales a twister of wind that destroys the debris of pillar. But what Solf didn't know is this just weaken some of the vines in the front of the building. He walks outside and rushes over the building where they are keeping everyone. He puts the two people in their beds. He starts on the man with the crushed leg. He surrounds his right hand with chakra and cuts through the skin, muscles, and bone. He changes the chakra to green which he starts to heal the man leg after cutting off partial of the leg. Kimblee crushes up a pill for blood and pours it into the man's mouth and holds it close so it dissolves. He moves the man to another bed. The lady he heals her also with the bleeding on her head and she starts to move. Kimblee walks out and heads to the building and the front comes down as he was two meters from it. Dust burst throughout the hold area covering a large part of the area. The dust settled and can see someone standing on top as he looked around trying to make sure nothing else was coming. Kimblee had to make this a point to address this person and this was the same person from before in the building.

Hey who are you? Some people stop that person there.

He points up towards the top of the building and the person runs and jumps off the building and rushes to the left and three people start to chase after this person. Kimblee makes his away towards the building and can't go through the front. The left side of the building had a hole so he moves through the building through this side. The inside of the building had more debris on the ground so he looked up and see a person's body hanging on. He leaps up with a burst of chakra to creates after images of himself. His extra arms grab the lady as he reached his peak and he falls down. While up there he noticed some more people there and someone that was moving a little bit.

I need to at less get that person. I couldn't do what I wanted to earlier this building isn't holding up anymore. I need to hurry quick.

The building starts to shake. He moves through leaping over broke pillars, benches, desk, and chairs. He had to get to that person. He has chakra fuel through the boots of his that grants his flight and more movement then before. He couldn't find another way to this person. Kimblee flies back to where he was and moves up the hole and heads towards the person. He grabs the person as he made his way to him. The build starts to come down and he moves quickly through and comes out and flies towards the building for these patients.

He lands and the broken building comes down as he walks into the building. He puts the people down in the buildings. He noticed the man before with the messed up leg has came to and sitting up. Solf starts to help around and heal the man up he brought back and is still moving. He uses his medical ninjutsu. He had moved his hand across the body of the person and noticed he only had internal bleeding. He cuts open the person a little bit with his chakra around his hand and the blood starts to come out from this bleeding. He uses his skill of stop bleeding that doesn't require any chakra and the bleeding stops and afterwards channels chakra into a green chakra to heal from the inside to out. He moves this man to another bed. He gives this man a pill also he crushes up and pours it into the man's mouth also and holds it as it dissolves.

He starts moving to the lady but she was up already. He tries to help her and she refuses so he walked off. He lets a person know what was going on with the people he brought in and what he was about to do. Kimblee releases water from his mouth using his ninjutsu and rinses his hands off with some blood that got on him but nothing on his clothes and shows. He heads off in the same direction as the person from earlier that was on the top of the building.

(Doujutsu: Sharingan ) Eye Technique: Copy Wheel Eye
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C - A Rank
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 15 - 30 ( -5 per turn for 1T and 2T, 10 per turn to keep active for 3T )
Damage: N/A
Description:
One of the Three Great Dōjutsu (San Daidōjutsu), the Sharingan is the kekkei genkai of the Uchiha clan. Unlike the other Dōjutsu, not all members of the Uchiha Clan possess the Sharingan. This great Dōjutsu seems to awaken only on exceptional Uchiha members and only in times of great stress. Once awaken, the pupil turns red and a single tomoe (巴) seal appears around the center pupil. As the user masters and evolves their eyes, the tomoe (巴) seals increase, topping 3 per eye. The main ability of the Sharingan, like any other Dōjutsu, is to enable the user to see the flow of chakra. This ability is further improved as the Sharingan gives color to chakra, enabling the user to differentiate chakras from different people or from different sources. Although the user can see chakra through matter, he cannot see beyond dense matter or in long distances. Coupled with the ability to see chakra, Sharingan users gain acess to an incredible clarity of perception that enables them to read insanely fast movements or minor details, enabling them the ability to foresee in an easier way, traps, incoming attacks, etc. This clarity of perception is so great that a Sharingan user can sometimes start performing a counter to an attack that is still being performed, enabling the counter to be launched only a split a second after the attack. This clarity of perception leaves Sharingan users able to track high speed movement easily as well as to read through handseals. This last ability enables them to learn techniques much faster and sometimes copy them directly from the enemy, as long as the user has the necessary chakra affinities and requirements to perform it. Finally, the Sharingan is often linked to Genjutsu and mind-manipulating illusions, mostly because the user can, mostly through Eye Contact, directly and precisely use his chakra to manipulate the enemy's chakra flow. In return, the users clarity of perception gives him the ability to more easily decipher visual illusions cast upon him and see past them. The Sharingan has a great cost to the user though. The chakra consumption disables its use for long periods of time and, even when the user grows stronger, it's still hard to keep it active for long periods of time.
Note: The user, if he hasn't gained full mastery over his Sharingan, will need to spend a move to activate it, although as long as he has chakra and enough stamina he'll be able to keep it active until the end of the match. If the user is Sannin Rank or above and has gained his 3 Tomoe Sharingan and held it for one month, he becomes able to passively activate it, meaning he'll no longer spend a move of his 3 per turn.
Note: To avoid direct Eye Contact and be able to focus only on the body movement below the chin, the opponent needs to have mastered Taijutsu to possess the necessary skill
Note: C rank usage is for 1T Sharingan, B rank usage is reserved for 2T Sharingan. A Rank usage is reserved for 3T Sharingan.
Note: Predicting the nature of a technique or what it exactly is requires the user to either know the technique or that its a cannon technique.
Note: Danzo and Kakashi bios activate the Sharingan by removing the covers in their respective eyes and suffer a +10 chakra consumption per turn penalty
Note: The user is bound by the abilities and limits of the stage of sharingan he possesses, stated in the rules of the KG.

(Mokuton: Shichuuka no Jutsu) - Wood Release: Four-Pillar House Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: After doing the Snake → Rat → Ox → Ram → Snake hand seals and focusing chakra into the ground, the user creates a wooden home that can serve as a place to stay or as a defense.

(Utsusemi no Jutsu) - Empty Cicada Shell Technique
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points:N/A
Description: Forming the needed hand seal Ram, a shinobi can project his voice to a different area to hide their location and the number of allies at their side. It is an excellent complement to stealth tactics.

( Doujutsu: Eien no Mangekyou Sharingan ) - Eye Technique: Eternal Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye
Type: Supplementary
Rank: Forbidden
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 70 ( -20 per turn to keep active )
Damage: N/A
Description: The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan literally meaning " Eternal Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye", is the final step in the evolutionary state of the Sharingan. While Mangekyo Sharingan is but an imperfect Dojutsu, unable to sustain and keep its own power, weakening with each use, the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan brings control and balance to the power wielded. By merging the users own MS with that of his sibling, the use is able to awaken the EMS. The EMS grants the user the same abilities granted by MS but to unsurpassed levels. While granting the user the ability to perceive the world with increadible insight, it also grants the user the ability to see through S-Rank visual illusions and track the movement speed of almost anything, perfecting the already amazing abilities of the standard MS, like casting Genjutsu without the need for handseals as long as a line of sight to the target is available. A unique feat however, is that once the user awakens EMS, he loses access to his normal MS, transitioning from 3T form to EMS directly. While MS damages the user as time passes and severely tires and drains the user as its used, the EMS doesn't. The user can keep it active without losing his eyesight or damaging himself and can use the normal MS techniques with no activation reduction or drawbacks. Its true that the chakra cost is higher, but the user will feel little to no effect in his stamina and energy. Through his EMS, Madara gained the ability to control Tailed Beasts by forcefully using his sharingan genjutsu/mind manipulation abilities to take control of the Bijuu and temporarily sever its connection to the host. If the Jinchuriki is in normal form or entering one of the transformations, it's blocked from transforming for 3 turns. If it's in incomplete form, it's forced back into normal form and left unable to access his bijuu for 3 turns and if its in complete form, the user gains control over the bijuu, manipulating its movements/actions completely for 2 turns or until the complete form ends (whatever comes first), leaving the host unable to acess his bijuu for 3 turns.
Note: Only usable by bios with EMS after meeting the necessary requirements.
Note: User needs to have activated his 3T Sharingan beforehand
Note: Once activated, lasts 10 turns per use and once the user has held the ability for 4 months, can be done passively, with no move cost.
Note: Using MS techniques don't reduce the activation time.
Note: Controlling a Bijuu is an exclusive ability of Madara Uchiha and can only be done once per battle. Once the control ends, the EMS reverts back to a 3T Sharingan. If the control is done on a complete form Jinchuriki, then the user can't do any other technique while controlling the enemy.
Note: To avoid direct Eye Contact and be able to focus only on the body movement below the chin, the opponent needs to have mastered Taijutsu to possess the necessary skill.
Note: Predicting the nature of a technique or what it exactly is requires the user to either know the technique or that its a cannon technique.
Note: While active, as long as a clear line of sight and the range is respected, the user can cast normal non-Doujutsu Genjutsu without the need for handseals. However, Doujutsu illusions still require eye contact (if feasible) or their own requirements; this ability only affects regular Genjutsu.

( Doujutsu: Rinnegan ) Eye Technique: Samsara Eye
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: N/A ( -5 per turn )
Damage: N/A
Description: One of the 3 great Doujutsu, the Rinnegan has, like the other, the ability to see chakra and the chakra flow of individuals. It also allows the user a great clarity of perception and tracking abilities, although its levels vary from user to user. It also grants a family of abilities collectively known as the Six Paths Technique. The user is also able to summon and control the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. Certain Rinnegan abilities have only been demonstrated by single users: Madara can create corporeal shadows in the invisible world of Limbo; Momoshiki is able to absorb any ninjutsu with his right Rinnegan and release it with his Left Rinnegan; Urashiki is capable of moving through time and space when different eyes are activated. While Nagato was never able to deactivate his eyes, Madara and other wielders could switch at will between their other eyes and Rinnegan eyes, although Uchiha aren't able to go from 3 Tomoe to Rinnegan directly. Due to implanting Madara's Rinnegan into his eye, Obito loses the ability to deactivate this eye, much like Nagato.
Note: Can only be used by Rinnegan users excluding Sasuke.
Note: Requires activation ( spending move ) for other Rinnegan bios but remains active indefinetely afterwards if the user chooses to. After having for 1 month, user becomes able to switch between both doujutsu without spending a move. In the case of Madara, user needs to have activated EMS before and had it active for 1 full turn before activating.

( Shuradō ) - Asura Path
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will activate the Asura Path which grants him the ability to create mechanised armor, augmenting their body with extra limbs and various robotic weaponry. It allows, for example, the user to create up to 6 extra arms which can be used in a variety of ways, such as grabbing their opponent and using a hidden chakra cannon in on the arms to attack him or perform handseals as the user throws kunais or does a Taijutsu move. It can even be used to help perform certain techniques. He can also alter his own head to manifest additional faces with additional pairs of eyes, all linked together. The possibilities are multiple. He can use this activation to access all of the Asura path abilities.
Note: Can only be used by Rinnegan biographies with access to the Six Paths ability.
Note: When the user wants to change his body, he must activate this technique each time. This is necessary as well for 6 Paths of Pein bios.

(Mokuton: Kyousei Mokuzai No Jutsu) Wood Release: Greater Wood Technique
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Rank: A
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: The user focuses and molds his chakra, using it to create Wood structures, Pillars, Trees, etc to defend, attack or support him. The Wood can be created from the users body or from earth sources and its limitations are only set by the users own imagination and the chakra put into the technique.

(Fūton: Shippuu Tama) - Wind Release: Twister Shot
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user releases a stream of wind infused chakra from their mouth that takes on the shape of a twister to attack the enemy.

(ZX Basuta: Hienkyaku) ZX Buster: Flying Swallow Feet
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short to Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: A movement based technique, Flying Swallow Feet works by focusing chakra into the soles of the user’s feet, super-charging the chakra-metal present in their shoes. Since there is less of the chakra pathway focused in the user’s feet than other locations on the body, this helps the chakra metal amplify any chakra passed through it that’s used for the ZX Buster style. More specifically, Flying Swallow Feet allows bursts of chakra to be fired from the user’s feet that can be used to accelerate short distances (known as “dashing”). Dashing can be done either in the air or on the ground and helps as it allows the user to put more momentum behind their strikes. When dashing, a visible burst of chakra is seen from the user’s feet, and they tend to have an “afterimage”; this comes about simply a trick of the eye, and is nothing special. As the chakra metal will retain its “super-charge,” and once activated, this technique does not deactivate. The user, although moving in a fast pace/burst of speed is still trackable by normal eyesight.

( Chakura Suishin Būtsu no Jutsu ) - Chakra Propulsion Boots Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 15 ( -5 per turn )
Damage points: N/A
Description: The Asura Path utilizes chakra that shoots out of his boots to propel himself in a linear direction, greatly increasing his speed by double. Other Rinnegan bios can also use this technique by having the Asura Path activated and producing the technique from their feet. With enough mastery, the user can even be granted flight as long as he fuels the technique. In this case however, he needs to spend chakra to sustain flight, spending a move to keep active.

( Iryō Ninjutsu: Chakra no Mesu ) - Medical Technique: Chakra Scalpel
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: D - A
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15 - 30 ( per turn )
Damage Points: 30 - 60
Description: Chakra no Mesu is a special Ninjutsu technique used by medical ninjas. The ninja will focus chakra to their hands. This medical technique then enables the users chakra to transform into small, sharp blades. This can then be used for highly accurate incisions necessary for surgeries and anatomical dissections. Unlike regular metal scalpels, the chakra scalpel can make cuts inside the body without actually creating an open wound, limiting the risks of an infection (although it can also be used to cut the external tissues as well). The chakra scalpel can also be used offensively, although it requires great precision to be effective. Because of this requirement, using the chakra scalpel offensively is highly unusual. In heated combat, even the greatest medical-nin won't be able to exert the precision needed to make fatal cuts, but it can still effectively cut muscle tissues and tendons, rendering the target immobile. Adding to the technique's blade like quality, it also appears to give the user an increased level of durability over their chakra clad hands. The strength and effects of the technique are determined by how much chakra is put into it and how much skill and focus the user has in the technique. Its effects vary according to the targeted body though to cut through strong tissues such as bone, great skill, focus and chakra is needed. The effect can be sustained while the user focuses chakra into it.
Note: Can only be used by Canon Medical Bios or NB Medical Ninjas.
x2

( Iryō Ninjutsu: Shōsen Jutsu ) - Medical Technique: Mystic Palm Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short
Chakra: N/A (2x the amount of damage healed, 200 max)
Damage: N/A
Description: This medical ninjutsu allows the user to speed up the body's natural healing process by focusing chakra onto their hands, forming an aura of greenish chakra which he then sends into a wound or afflicted body part. This allows the user to heal a patient without the need for medical equipment or surgery, making it very useful on the battlefield. It can be used to treat both external and internal injuries. It is vital to match the amount of chakra used to the severity of the affliction or injury. This requires a great amount of chakra control. Because of this, only a few highly skilled medical-nin are able to use this technique. The limitation of the technique is that it cannot regrow missing body parts or remove with poisons or toxins, though it can heal damage by them. Additionally, perhaps its more severe drawback is the chakra cost, which is much higher than any other medical technique. For each damage point the user of the technique wishes to heal, he needs to spend twice as much chakra. Basically, for x amount of damage the user needs to spend 2x amount of chakra to repair/heal. The user can also use this technique on himself and it can be used with one hand or two and even in two targets at a time or while using another technique with the other hand. The speed of the healing is fast but not instant.
Note: Can be used on up to 2 targets.

Coming from:

After having finished settling her mission within Tsumigakure that she had been assigned, Chise made it a point to stop by Mirabelle's apartment to ensure everything was still in one piece, at least relatively.. She took some time to rest there, occasionally taking a moment to clean a room here or there given the conditions they had left it in when all of this had begun. She found the bed that Mirabelle had been resting in when Chise practically dragged her there. The rags she used in rotation to help cool her fever, the bowl of water arranged on the nightstand and the blankets and sheets that were tossed in a mess from the rush they went through after Mirabelle had woken up. The memory seemed to spark some sense of nostalgia in her, despite it not having been quite that long ago. Yet so much seemed to have happened since then that it could easily be mistaken for a lifetime ago. Chise took the time to bring the room back to an orderly manner; a level of control that would bring her some peace of mind thinking that -if nothing else- Mirabelle would have something to return to that wasn't so unpleasant.

After awhile, Chise had noticed a bird flutter into a window that she had temporarily opened to let in some fresh air. A note seemed to be strapped around a collar that was attached around it's neck and torso, wrapped in a small cylindrical container. Chise blinked, wondering if the bird would fly away the moment it noticed her shuffling about, yet when it seemed to not leave, she opted to approach and take hold of the note it had, of which it flew away the moment she had it. Unfolding the paper, she noticed immediately it was from Mirabelle. It appeared to be an update letter of some sort; detailing her experience at the tournament and where she planned to head after. Chise's eyes softened a moment as she considered what it was she was up to.. What if she was heading somewhere dangerous and she was still hurt from the battle she faced in the tournament? She knew Mirabelle was capable of a lot by comparison to herself, yet everyone had their limits, surely. With a sense of resolve suddenly passing over her eyes, Chise set the note in her pocket as she moved around the apartment, gathering up a replenishment of supplies to arrange in her bag, including a map she had found among some of Mirabelle's things before setting off once again, making her way toward the Northern-most part of the region where the map began to lead her toward Warenaiwa, the first region she'd have to pass through in her freshly begun journey across the known world.

After a bit of travel on foot, Chise managed to make her way through the region of Warenaiwa after departing from the Graveyard of Sin not long ago. With a set destination in mind, she takes little time to stop and take in the environment of the region, yet every so often takes a moment to appreciate a few key features that stand out to her to help her identify the location if she happens to return one day. With the intent to arrive where she means to sooner rather than later however, she continues her trek Northward through Warenaiwa.

After docking into the harbor of Edo connecting to the Badlands and the Western continent, Chise and Mirabelle both disembarked from their final ship they would need to take in their current journey. There they opted to rest a spell, replenish some of their supplies before making for the last small leg of their journey on foot; heading south through the region, one step closer to their goal.

With consistent momentum that carried in a fresh spring to their step, caused by their growing anxiousness with every step closer they were to their home village, Chise and Mirabelle continued their venture across the region of Warenaiwa now after having cleared through Edo, making for their final destination of Tsumigakure in the Graveyard of Sin.

Chise followed the direction of Sado's gestures as he began to explain to her where she could look for the information she had asked for. Her eyes began to widen in something of disbelief at more than just the amount of material there was for her to tend to, but also.. it was a chaotic pile of a mess.. So much so that it would be practically inconceivable for anyone to find anything without having to sift through each pile from top to

bottom with the hopes of chancing upon what it was they were searching for sooner rather than later. A faint sigh escaped her before she shifted her attention toward the Kage with a deep sense of intent behind her gaze. She was silent for a lingering moment, as though she were working out in her own head how she wished to address the subject. "Sado-sama.. Please allow me to organize these documents..!" She blurted out in almost a snapped-to exclamation, as if she finally gave up on trying to find a way to sugarcoat the subject and merely opted for the straight forward approach of the matter. She turned her attention back to.. well, everything that was in front of her. There was such a wealth of information lying right in front of her and yet it seemed all so insignificant in how it was being managed. No one would ever be able to look at this room and assume that anything in these scrolls was worth notice. "If you would allow me to do so.. I'll be sure to label everything and make it clear for you to know where certain things are. But I feel like this sort of.. mismanagement can become more burdensome on your already intensive job as it is than it every would be worth. I also believe knowledge should be respected.. and handled accordingly. It isn't something so easily acquired these days, nor is it so easily replaced. So I think we should do all we can to protect it.."

Chise hadn't paid attention to the fact that she had already taken the steps forward into the room ahead of the Kage without awaiting his approval, first approaching the pile of papers, folders and other things that Sado had initially pointed out first and foremost in the room. It seemed to be stacked abundantly to either side of his desk, in half-leaning stacks piled into chairs that had been converted into makeshift shelves, and of course more than a few walls that were cluttered against by the various bends and cuts of parchment that all seemed ready to scatter at the slightest gust. She took hold of the topmost paper arranged on the desk, slowly running her emerald eyes down the information that was sharply etched across it with ink. These were no doubt the private memoirs of the Kage himself, given the disheveled handwriting that seemed to vary in tidiness and consistency. It was all done in such a way as if he were in a rush to skip to the next thought with each line, yet that of course came as no sacrifice to the attention to detail of every line. It showed the passion and intent behind the writer's eyes; the eagerness to make their own thoughts, remembrances and findings physical and most importantly, retrievable, no matter what might happen later on. It took no time at all for her to become absorbed in the contents of each page; working her way from front to back while picking through the piles in an attempt to find the twins to each subject-matter that she was presently reading in hopes to reunite them and have them organized accordingly. It was almost as if she had entirely forgotten the presence of the Kage all together, despite having been directed there by him, or the fact that she was still in his own personal space..

In the passage of time, hours seemed to pass from one to the next with little acknowledgement from Chise. The windows had gradually become cleared from any clutter that may have been arranged around them, well enough for her to have the opportunity to open at least one to allow fresh air in while she worked her way around each surface with rags and dusters. In between each organized effort, she'd utilize a part of her own body to grow forth spiraling wood, manifested through the creation of her mokuton chakra that flowed through her. A recent discovery that she had learned she was capable of; one that she hadn't really put much thought into the meaning of, nor the significance of, given the fact that it came to her in a rather natural manner. She'd utilize this skill set to create book shelves, bins, racks and much smaller tools like simple paperweights or simple wooden clips to bind stacks of papers together.

An entire evening had passed and Chise had found herself sitting silently in one of the corners of the room, legs crossed in front of her as she sipped from some water she had poured for herself through sourceless manipulation of the element, taking a break from the organizing that she had done thus far. Several book shelves were now filled and arranged against walls with labels and signs printed along each to represent what area of the nation they addressed, what information they contained or simply what dates they were written if they seemed multi-informative. She seemed to zero in on the documents that covered the contents of the Badlands specifically; where the bulk of Tsumigakure was located, accompanied by a map that was laid out along the floor to her side. The capital, which was central-north of the continent, bordered the Earth and Fire Countries of the continent that was shared between them and their neighbors to the east, along with the Wind Country to the southern more portion of the land, also known as the "
Great Wind Desert" which seemed most uninhabited. Given the nature of what it was she was doing all of this for, -searching for a reliable location to establish a public library for the village- she'd have to keep it within the reasonable boundaries of the village's reach; preferably somewhere near the capital itself, given the nature of it's frequented traffic. It'd serve little purpose for her to try and establish it too far out of reach.. Such a place needed to be easily accessible to those who wished to seek it. That would be critical in her search.. Given the rocky and unforgiving terrain of the Badlands, it didn't offer many solutions for this particular issue. Apart from carving ones way into the side of a barren hill and calling a makeshift mine shaft a "library," she'd have to get flexible with her options. The true beauty of the Badlands was the historical relevancies of it's regions. It had it's share of wars, localized conflicts and even expansions of prior nations that had come before Tsumigakure that had established many different roads to present-day landmarks that exist as ruins and abandoned sites today. Most notably, as an example, seemed to be the region of Warenaiwa that was located just west of the capital. Chise peered across a scroll that detailed the region while making reference of it to the map beside her; she had passed through it more than once in her prior travels, giving her something of a vague idea of what it was like there. Rugged, rough terrain full of mountainous ranges. Building something there seemed less than hospitable, yet something already was there: An old fortress, built during "The Time of Trouble," an era that was largely represented by the foundation and rapid conquest expansion of the imperial reign of the one known as Aléxandros Mégas. The scroll addressed the vague details that were uncovered in a brief overturning of the fortress long after it had been abandoned from a bygone era where it was now cluttered with vagabonds and nomads that either aim to take advantage of it's remote, natural location for personal gain, or simply for a convenient roof; albeit one that has seen better days.

Chise blinked, eyeing how close to the capital the fortress of Warenaiwa was, and the nature of the fortress accompanied by it's history; it seemed peculiar that no one had taken the time yet to try and revitalize the fortress for other purposes. Such a naturally defensive structure built so close to

the village seemed to have more than a handful of quality uses. If nothing else, it could serve as a very exceptional foundation for the renovation and conversion into something more along the lines of a library.. Her eyes slowly lit up as the connection was made in her thoughts. Gradually she shifted from the document in hand and began to shuffle through a couple other piles, searching for any reference she could find of the old fortress specifically, or at least anything address Aléxandros Mégas himself and his growth across the Badlands and the Earth Country as a whole. Very little seemed to come up; at least not enough to truly detail anything else than what could already be interpreted through simple references of the history to past events. Then, it struck her. It truly seemed as though no one had really taken the time to explore this fortress since it had been abandoned; at least not thoroughly enough to have any details on it's particular history. If she was going to find anything out about it, she'd have to go there and discover it herself, and then determine if it is a place that could serve the purpose of what she was aiming to do there. With a resolute nod, Chise gathered the scrolls and papers, any that she could find that made reference to this particular subject and began to neatly organize them in a bag she had with her. Once done, she began to write up a note that she would leave on the now cleared desk of the Kage, of which read and addressed each individual document, scroll and paper she had planned to take with her for reference material. It was as if it was a "checkout slip," of a sort. Something that could be referenced later on when she'd need to return each document later on. Once finished, she slung the bag over her shoulder and finished the water she had made for herself before setting off out of the room, making sure all windows were sealed and closing the door behind her before making for the gates of the village, where she planned to depart for the region to begin her own personal investigation of the area and, with hope, find a fine location to begin the building of the library she had been tasked with.

This message marks the beginning of my mission using the following storyboard elements:
  • Sniff out a dissenter (2)
  • Trail an individual without being detected (2)
  • Scout potential threats (3)
  • Infiltrate an enemy's base (3)
  • Identify a serious threat to the village (custom; 3)
Summary: After Chise made her venture back to the land of Warenaiwa to explore it for potential build sites, she finds herself in an odd position of discovery that she hadn't anticipated, leaving her to deal with a dangerous situation...

Chise's travel from the village was smooth and seemingly without consequence. More than once before she had traveled the road that cut through the region of Warenaiwa in previous travels she had done in order to get to and from the village, yet now she'd actually be dedicated to the endeavor of exploring it more thoroughly, to accomplish tasks that had been put in front of her by those that had faith in her abilities; albeit clearly far more so than she did herself. Despite her own sense of self-doubt and lack of desire to be within the spotlight, she'd have to rely on her motivations to pursue new information to carry her through to the end of this mission.

As she shuffled casually along the main road, occasionally peering down at a map that was extended ahead of her, held lightly between both of her hands to double check the path she was taking and ensure she was heading in the right direction, Chise had suddenly lifted her gaze at the sound of an abrupt, bellowing laughter that was carrying from the other side of a nearby dirt mound. It came accompanied with some rather unpleasant profanities that were being hurled in one direction or another, all mismatched to every other word that she would barely hear from her position. With a curious glance, she carefully stalked her way closer to the mound, placing herself just along the other side of the wall of dirt and stone, barely out of sight well enough to give her the occasional opportunity to peer around it's corner to take in what, or who was making so much noise. "
By the way, Chise, may want to try the Chakra Suppression Technique next time, to hide your presence." A memory abruptly ripples across Chise's forefront thoughts; the suggestion given to her in the past to better conceal herself from unwanted detection, at least until such a time as she wanted to be found.. Slowly she closed her eyes, focusing inwardly upon herself as she reeled her chakra in, ensnaring it within her own system to prevent it from flowing freely around herself as it normally would, effectively suppressing it, preventing it from giving her away unintentionally..

Description: This ability allows the user to suppress their chakra to the point that it is completely undetectable. This makes it impossible for chakra sensory-type ninja to track them via their chakra signal. However there is some downside to the technique, whilst suppressing their chakra they cannot use any of the ninja skills.
Note: Cannot prevent Doujutsu users from detecting them

Chise listened with careful resolve, her sensible presence now suppressed as she made active effort to keep herself from slipping past the corner of the mound she was currently hiding behind. Even with the

suppression of her chakra, it didn't save her from the possibility of being seen, or even heard if she wasn't careful. She had to make an effort to be aware of her surroundings, in case someone else might show up while she was focused on those that were out in the open.. But for now, there were only two men; each adorned in what seemed to be weighted vests and patchy cloaks that seemed to conceal several belts underneath each of them that was strapped with weapons of various sizes. One man was a rugged, scruffy fellow that seemed to be balding and had a very defining scar that stretched across his face. Meanwhile the other man was a bulky, brick wall of a human with a strip of hair that ran in a braided arrangement down his back, the sides of his head shaved, while most curiously, his mouth and nose were wrapped by a fabric, much like a scarf coiling around his face, covering the lower part of his face. As the smaller man spat something from his mouth to the side and into the dirt, he turned to look at his partner.
"..
Did you hear? The boss is planning to make a move. Says the village is in the middle of tryin' to plan some high-life shit.. Prime opportunity to take advantage while they're all drunk and fat on feeling safe and cozy.." The bulkier fellow simply grunted, then gave a strange prodding gesture of one hand against the other, as if he were trying to express himself with hand movements rather than verbalizing his thoughts. All the while, Chise was still trying to process the smaller man's words previously.. It seemed all too obvious what it was they were talking about, even though no names were being mentioned: They could only be referring to Tsumigakure.. They were so close to the village, and the mention of a party seemed to be all the more relevant. She blinked as she tried to turned her head further around the corner to see what the gestures of the larger man appeared to be, yet she couldn't make much sense of it all.. The smaller man simply laughed a gravelly laugh, as if he seemed to pick up on what his peer was trying to say.. "Aye. We hit 'em hard, with minimal exposure on our part, we'll be like rats in their walls; in and out with everything before they have time to find the holes.." A sense of bewilderment struck, Chise couldn't help but feel a pit suddenly sink in her stomach as she strained to remain hidden while simultaneously trying to stay calm after hearing what she did. The village was going to be the mark for some highway hit. Did she have enough time to return to the village and warn them..? Could she even slip away before they'd notice her..?

Chise bit sharply against her lower lip, holding herself firmly against the dirt wall behind her as she considered the situation she was now in. She couldn't rely on her own speed to make it back in time before these.. people might do something or harm someone. She didn't have the luxury of time, so now it was up to her to try and deal with the situation. The thought frightened her; all this time she had relied on Mirabelle or someone else to lead her through any serious situation that the village or others around her were faced with. But she was a Shinobi of the Village hidden in Sin, something she'd have to live up to sooner or later, regardless of whether or not she'd like it. "Alright, let's get back and deliver these things before they accuse us of pocketing them." Chise took in a sharp breath as the realization dawned on her of the possibility that they were going to come her direction. She idled, as still as she could manage, waiting to hear their footsteps. Once she did, she only seemed to hear them growing further away from her, indicating as a hint that they were at least creating distance, rather than coming nearer. Carefully she peeked around the corner, eyeing the backs of the two men that were now heading opposite of her, following a rather gravelly, unkempt road. Her feet felt glued to the floor, uncertain if she should truly press forward, yet she knew there was no real choice in the matter. She had to do something; even if she were to return to the village, she'd have nothing to give them, other than simply that she "overheard a rumor." With a spark of resolve, Chise quickly slipped away from the area she had been hiding, waiting for the pair to create some distance to her before she'd give chase, moving conservatively, careful to maintain the chakra suppression she had previously activated in order to sustain some semblance of being "incognito."

It didn't take long before the road they followed turned into rocky, rigged terrain. Given the barren harshness of Warenaiwa's geography, it wasn't very surprising that they'd come across these sorts of hills sooner or later, yet it certainly played at Chise's curiosity. Were these simple bandits? A band of criminals that had formed some concept of a party or clan that aimed to stir trouble wherever there might be profit, or was there some greater motive or driving force..? Amid her own thoughts, Chise had found herself neglecting her footing, abruptly stepping one loose stone too

near the edge of the rocky slopes she had been scaling overhead to try and avoid trailing directly behind the men in their narrow pathway they had begun to take. The stone she had stepped up slipped loose, causing a reaction of one onto another before a small slide of loose stones had begun to tumble down the cliff. With a sharp, breathless yelp, Chise had quickly thrown her body weight backward, attempting to avoid falling forward, landing along her side and back. A few scrapes here and then from the jagged edges of the ground, yet she managed to tuck her feet in just in time to avoid sliding down with what had broken loose. She gritted her teeth as she heard a sudden "Shhh.." Carefully she peered down the slope of the hill, eyeing the men she had been following who were now stopped in their tracks, looking up in her direction. She quickly whipped her head back, biting violently into her cheek as she felt sweat beading along her brows. Stealth was clearly not her strong suit, and this very well could be the last chance she gets to attempt it due to her negligence.. If she were to attempt to use any Ninjutsu to avoid being found, she'd break her suppression technique, forcing even a moment of revealing herself, which would inevitably compromise her presence, even if only a little bit. As her breath held sharply in her lungs, straining her conscious composure, she had no choice but to wait it out and see if they'd find her. If they did, she'd have to rely on defending herself, or possibly trying to escape, at which point her chakra concealment would make no difference. "Go check it out." Chise tucked herself against the ground, trying to make herself as flat as possible; arms tucked at her sides, feet knitted together.. She could hear the rock side shifting, as though someone was climbing up it. Each second clicked through her thoughts in a tauntingly sluggish pace, knowing full well that at any moment, she could be facing her end, over a few loose rocks no less...

Suddenly, apart the violent thrumming of her heart beating against her eardrums Chise heard nothing for a brief moment. She slowly turned her gaze up to see if one of the men had crested the hill yet to spot her, yet all she saw was the back of the top of the bulkier man's head, as though he had just turned around before seeing over the hill; before seeing her. He seemed to be looking down toward the other man, whom was simply waving toward him, beckoning him to come back down, to which he simply shrugged and did so. Slowly she began to let herself breathe once more, she could feel the paleness of her cheeks as the sweat felt cold down her temples. She swallowed hard, letting her head rest for a moment as to collect her thoughts before she slowly shifted to watch the men moving once again. With a faint sigh of relief, she continued to follow close behind, this time far more conscientious of her footwork, and her distance to the edge..

Finally, after what seemed to be nearly an hour of a casual travel pace, they came to what seemed to be a ruined.. fortress? Chise laid across the top of the cliff she had been scaling along the way, eyeing the two men approach the splintered wooden gate and slip through unhindered. Without a doubt in her mind, she concluded that this could only be the old Fortress of Alexandros, and from the looks of it, the location had been "taken over" by some unpleasant sorts. Chise waited several moments before she'd carefully slip down the side of the cliff, bringing herself to ground level with the same door that the men had gone through before. Quickly she approached, looking along the ramparts of the fortress walls to see if anyone was watching as she moved, yet given the sudden set of darkness that had come since she had started her journey, it made it easy to tell where the watchers were at any given time, due to the light sources they carried with them. A fading thought had passed her mind given this minor detail, reminding her of more than a couple stories she had read as a child; grand quests taken on by fearless heroes that had similar scenes like the one she was currently taken on herself. Yet the consequences were far more real here, and she'd not have the luxury of a "happily ever after" if she wasn't careful. Once she was flat against the wall, she quickly peeked up it, watching as the glow of the light one of the watcher's had slowly began to slip off in the opposite direction of her. That came as her queue to begin her ascent.. With the possibility of more than just a couple of sources nearby now, Chise suspected that she could release the Chakra Suppression technique without risk of being discovered right away. In doing so, she now had the freedom to manipulate her chakra at will once again, of which she pooled into the soles of her feet before darting up the side of the wall, carrying herself up to the edge of the rampart which she stopped just short of, planting her hands along the edge to hold herself up, idling a moment to wait and see where the guard was. She watched carefully as they approached, her breath held tightly in her lungs to avoid even the slightest sound before they began to turn to walk back in the opposite direction in a predictable path. The moment their back was turned was Chise's queue, quickly she hurled herself over the ledge onto the rampart, crouched down upon landing before kicking off toward the guard, lifting a foot to strike precisely at the back of the guard's knee, forcing his balance to buckle under his own weight, dropping him to the ground in swift succession. Just prior to his attempts to call out in surprise, Chise had rapidly wrapped her hands over his head twirling around his side to thrust his head in a downward momentum against the sudden elevation of her knee, ramming it against the bridge of the nose in a violent and resounding crack. The blunt force and rush of blood to the head put the man out in an instant, tumbling limply to the side across the ground.. Who would have thought that the "training" she had done with one of her fellow peers from the village would have paid off in this way..?

Chise eyed the motionless man for a time, letting out shallow breaths of anticipation, as though waiting for some inevitable retaliation from anyone to have possibly seen what she had done. Luckily, no one had caught the act, and sure enough the man she attacked was as unconscious as he could be. She quickly shuffled closer to him, plucking rope and a loose cloth from her pack to begin coiling around the guard's arms and legs, while also tying off his mouth with the cloth to prevent him from calling out were he to wake up before she was done. Carefully, she turned her gaze inward beyond the wall, peeking past the edge to see what was within. Her eyes widened as she took in the scene of what could only be described as a "camp" within the fortress, several dozen people all hovering around, some resembling Shinobi themselves with the others appearing to be brute strength and aggressive to boot. It appeared they were gathering for something, yet whatever it was had yet to take place. If she were to find out what, she'd need to get closer, and that'd require a new form of stealth that wasn't simply hiding out of sight. Turning her gaze to the attire that the guard wore she had knocked unconscious, she eyed the details of it, matching up with what seemed to be the closest thing to "uniform" that the rest seemed to wear as well: A weighted, matted vest, dark cloaks and bandages around the right arm that had a painted symbol across them that seemed unique to whatever this group was. With a careful nod, Chise gripped hold of the scarf that was wrapped around her neck, concentrating a careful flow of chakra into it that resulted in it gradually unwinding around her in a flurry of threads, of which began to manipulate the clothes she currently wore, reshaping the fabrics to match the appearance to that of the guard she had just examined. Once completed, she eyed her headband still strapped along her right bicep.. ".. Should probably put this away.. If they really are targeting the village, seeing it's mark would no doubt blow my cover.. Please forgive me, Tsumigakure.." Chise whispered softly to herself as she untied the band from her bicep and slipped it into the inside of her coat, leaving in it's place the marked bandages that the guard wore.

With a deep inhale, Chise quickly began her descent from the ramparts, working her way down to the main courtyard. She was careful to conceal herself as much as possible within the garb she had on, pulling the cloak over her head to try and hide her fiery red hair as much as possible, given that it made her a "sore thumb" amongst a crowd; attention she was trying to avoid at all costs. She made an effort to avoid steering too close to

anyone, regardless if they were in motion as well or stationary. She carefully worked her way further and further along the edge of the crowd until she found herself standing between a pair of crumbling pillars that held up nothing above them, serving as little more than a tall, narrow object for her to blend against while she waited like everyone else seemed to be. After a brief delay since she had taken her spot, the crowd had begun to grow rowdy, some calling out in loud cheers while others simple stomped their feet against the ground or cracked their fists against tables they sat at. It all seemed pointed in one direction, of which faced a makeshift stage of sorts that was decorated in furs, silks and braziers. At the center of it all was a single individual, one that stood considerably taller than any normal individual, and had protruding characteristics that gave no impression that he was any normal human.. The man's irises were a yellow hue that sat against deep, pitch black eyes unlike the typical white; like two burning suns amongst the void of space. His attire resembled that of a Samurai, or something akin to one, yet it seemed as though it was in shambles, like each piece he wore were from a bygone era and served little purpose in durability. All attention was fixed on him as he lifted a single blackened arm to silence the fortress. A chill raced down Chise's spine; something about this man reminded her of the Child of Tiamat that she had fought back in Mirabelle's home village.. Was it possible that he was also one..?

"It is time now, brothers and sisters. Not long ago was it that I came to you as your executioner, but now you serve a greater purpose than you once did. We will see Mother brought home to us.. She will have this land. All we must do is purge the obstacles that stand in her way..." Chise's shoulders stiffened; her hands trembled at her sides as she listened. "Mother," that was what they referred to Tiamat as.. Any doubts she once had were now very real: What stood in front of her now was another Child of Tiamat, and he now has his attention set on the village of Tsumigakure. Based on the power of the previous one that she had faced with Mirabelle and her clansmen, she had no hope of handling this on her own.. Her thoughts began to race, all working against her in every possible way.. "What am I supposed to do..? I can't do anything.. Is it even a good idea for me to stay here at all..? If they find me, I'll-- .." Suddenly, she was broken away from her spiraling thoughts back to the carrying voice of the man upon center-stage, of which came with a directive gesture toward the pair she had followed all the way there, whom approached with an aged, unmarked book in hand. The pages looked like they were falling apart even without opening it.. "This will be the key to our beginning. This book tells of a hidden room in this fortress that contains all we need to hasten the delivery of our rage upon those that put Mother to sleep.. We will use their weapons against them.." Chise eyed the book the man addressed. It had no particular identifiable features; no title, no text or symbols at all.. yet one thing was clear to her now. Given the lack of any other options available to her, the only thing she could do is try and steal it and prevent them from getting their hands on whatever it was they spoke of. If she didn't, the lives of those she had sworn to protect as a Shinobi would be in grave danger...

This message marks the beginning of my mission using the following storyboard elements:
  • Infiltrate an enemy's organization (4)
  • Deal with a problem in a tactical manner, instead of through direct confrontation (4)
  • Convince an enemy to fight with you (4)
  • Steal valuable information from the enemy (4)
Summary: Having followed a trail to something far bigger than she could ever have imagined, Chise now faces a task that could mean the difference of many lives, weighed on whether or not she succeeds in acquiring a book that her foes plan to use for nefarious ends.

A heavy burden weighed on Chise now. She had a clear goal set in front of her: To steal away the tome that the Child of Tiamat and the bandit group she was now hidden amongst had found and planned to use to find tools made for war, and use them against her own village and no doubt countless others. Yet she hadn't the first idea of how to go about achieving it. She was already so close.. was it a good idea to simply rush the stage and try to take it while they were unsuspecting? The memory of the previous Child of Tiamat that she had faced came flooding back to her; the strength and relentless violence the creature was capable of was numbingly intense, yet compared to the one she saw now, that "creature" from before was far less refined and in control of itself. Whereas the one in front of her now.. If the creature she faced before was an infant born of Tiamat, then this was surely an Adult; one that was not new to fighting or the possible strategies and tricks the Shinobi world has. If she was going to handle this, it'd have to be discretely and without error, otherwise she will die...

Chise turned her attention back toward the stage, watching as the addressal seemed to be nearing it's conclusion.. "With this book, we will gain entry to this "secret cellar" it tells of, through the use of a sealing technique that was utilized by the warlord's of old to open and close it at will.. Find this "secret cellar." The first who does will be given Mother's Blessing.."
Chise's eyes perked up at the suggested reward that would be given.. Did that mean they were capable of transforming others into Children of Tiamat as well..? She couldn't let that happen, least of all as a reward for gaining access to supposed weapons that would be used against her village. Stepping back, Chise hid herself behind the pillar for a moment as to focus on composing herself. With a sharp inhale, she lifted her hands and pinched at the top of her hooded cloak to ensure it was still pulled forward well enough to conceal most of her features. With a resolute nod to herself, she peered past the pillar once more to see the Child of Tiamat was gone already, only for the two men that had the tome in hand began to make their way toward the center of the courtyard. There, the smaller, balding fellow turned to the bulkier, larger man, handing it to him. "Take this to the tower and keep it there. Nobody's to touch it without the boss's permission." The large man simply stared at the nearly shredded book that had been placed in his oversized hand. Despite his image, he handled it with surprising care as he gave a silent nod and began to move off toward the central tower of the fortress, likely the place he had been ordered to go.

With an objective in mind, Chise quickly hooked around the pillar she had been standing behind thus far, making her way along the edge of the crowd once again. This took a careful amount of conscious awareness.. She couldn't move too quickly or too slowly without seeming suspicious, nor could she be seen looking off toward the location of the book the entire time she was moving, otherwise that too would be suspicious. Every little thing that she did needed to be natural and unsuspecting to the larger group around her, otherwise she'd have far more immediate problems to deal with than she could handle.. She was careful to avoid as many bodies as possible, yet given the resolution of the reason for the gathering, it was inevitable that all those that were around would begin to scatter, moving in their own directions and aiming to find the cellar they spoke of. She'd keep her head low, occasionally stopping near a blank wall, pretending to examine it in whatever way she could make it seem genuine; pressing against bricks and knocking on random locations, all just to give the impression she was meant to be there long enough to let a group pass by her before quickly moving down the line once again after setting her eyes on the ascending man with the book, climbing the outer stairs that lead up to the entrance of the central tower.

Everything was flowing smoothly, just as she was about to take her first steps up the stairway leading toward the central tower, a firm grip had tugged at her shoulder. Chise's heart jumped into her throat, then immediately plummeted like a bullet into her gut.. The hairs along the back of her neck stood on end, her eyes beading with fear. Slowly she turned her focus sideward, careful not to do so too quickly, yet not to seem too hesitant either. Her best option was to pretend like she belonged, as she had been doing thus far.. Upon turning around, she was met with the man that had given the tome to the bigger fellow before sending him off. She swallowed hard, uncertain of whether or not he knew exactly what it was she had been after, and even if she wasn't really who she tried to pretend to be.. Out of immediate reflex, she had gripped hold of a kunai that was tucked away in her cloak, prepared to hurl it forward in an effort to at least distract the man long enough to create distance. "
Strange, didn't think we had women on the central guard.. Best not have drawn that shit yourself." The man grunted with something of a cocky, toothy grin as he pointed at the marked bandages that were wrapped around her bicep; the unusual symbol upon it likely being what he was referring to. She bit sharply against the inside of her cheek, stewing rapidly over every possible response she could think of before simply turning fully toward the man

as though in a familiar manner before moving to shrug his hand off her shoulder "confidently"... "Ahm.. You have a problem with it? Why not take it up with the Boss? I'm sure he'd love to listen to you grovel about how not a single woman cares about your opinion, right before killing you for wasting his and my time over the matter, rather than looking for the cellar.." The tightness in her chest wasn't letting loose, nor was her hovering anxiety that with every word she spoke, the closer she came to the edge of maintaining her cover. She wasn't sure how successful she was, especially given the grin the man had was now gone, and it was nothing but a stern, rough stare toward her. Chise felt the sweat forming in her tight, paling palms as she held at the man's gaze for several moments before he abruptly bellowed a stiff laugh. "
Aye, aye.. No need to get so touchy. I was just fuckin' with ya, kid." Chise let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding, swallowing hard before returning her focus forward once again. It seemed as though she was clear of immediate suspicion, but if she didn't get this over with fast, there would only be more and more opportunities for something to go wrong..

"So, what do you want then? I'm busy, so hurry up.." It physically "hurt" her to act so aggressively, despite doing so toward someone that was a criminal. It went against her very nature and the personality she had grown to develop, and every word that left her mouth felt like a strain on her emotionally to try and maintain, yet the "tough and cold" look seemed to be working, at least for now, so her best option was to try and maintain it. "
So impatient. Guess that's the theme of the day with the new find, eh?" The man huffed with something of a rustic chuckle before making a move for his cloak, clenching hold of something that was just out of Chise's view. Her chest tightened; how could she be sure it wasn't a weapon, and he was simply pretending to follow along with her act long enough to catch her off guard..? She kept firm and tight hold of her own kunai, her knuckles cramping from the tension in their joints from the firm tension she held them at, waiting in breathless anticipation. Finally the man's hand slipped past the edge of his cloak, revealing a cloth pouch tied off at it's top by a string. He extended it to her, holding it in the gap between them, waiting for her to take hold of it. "This here's Garu's share of the find. Make sure he gets it, would ya?" Chise could feel the burden of the trapped air in her lungs lift after she exhaled sharply through her nostrils. She turned her head away for a moment, hiding behind the edge of her cloak long enough to take a steadying breath before reaching out and grabbing hold of the pouch before turning completely away. "Didn't realize that was my job, but fine. I'll be going now." Chise huffed rather bluntly as she began her ascent once more up the range of stairs. She could feel the man's gaze lingering on her back for several moments past the conclusion of their interaction, which unsettled her.. She ran through the scene over and over again in her mind, wondering if she had said something wrong, or slipped up anywhere that would make him suspicious, yet it was already done, so the best she could hope for was to have just enough time to finish what she needed to do before anyone would become wise to her true identity.

Quickly she hooked around the corner of the entrance to the tower, planting her back against the wall deep into the shadows of it's corner in hopes to give herself a moment of reprieve. Being the center of attention was rarely if ever something she cared for in the best of circumstances. All of this was far more than she bargained for.. yet she couldn't turn away from it. This needed to be done, and at the moment, only she could do it. Taking a deep breath through her nose, Chise slowly let it out through a small separated point in her lips, working steadily to keep herself calm. Once she felt the shake in her hands begin to calm, she finally took it as her opportunity to step away from the wall. She stood somewhere near the center of the tower's ground floor, looking up to see the spiraling staircase that climbed in what looked like a nearly endless ascent. There were many branches that broke away through doors at several different landings, all of which left her with a lot of guessing to determine where the man with the book had gone. Then, she heard the clicking of boots in a steady stride. She turned her gaze up once again, trying to pinpoint where it was coming from. Finally she spotted the man she had been looking for, climbing well up the way of the stairs before he'd turn on one of the landings, out of sight. Quickly, Chise stepped toward the stairs, passing a quick glance around her surroundings to see if anyone would be watching her. Luckily, she seemed to be alone, so she took it as her one opportunity to rush up the stairs quickly, yet carefully to avoid making too much noise as she tried to catch up to the man before she'd lose track of him again.

Finally, she reached the platform that she remembered the man stopping at before going through the floor's entrance. Chise slowly approached the wood and metal-framed door, carefully pushing her palms against it's surface as she leaned lightly into it, as if to test whether or not it'd simply push open, yet it was properly latched at it's handle. She let out a faint, disappointed sigh, given that it'd likely cause a bit of noise and give away her entry. Slowly she reached for the handle, only to find it wouldn't budge either. Clearly it had been locked from the other side, of which would require a bit more of a practiced effort to gain entry. Should could try and break the lock, but that would surely make more noise than she could manage to excuse if she were to be caught in the act. Her best bet was to try and find a way to the other side and to unlock it for her to get through. Then, it hit her. She carefully crouched down, peeking at the bottom edge of the door, where a gap of a couple inches existed between the door and the ground. That was her in..

Standing back to her feet, Chise began to concentrate her water chakra through her system before releasing it as a small collective of water, manifested through the sheer concentration of her chakra made physical. She directed the water through the gap at the bottom of the door; as if passing through in a natural flooding manner. Once she felt there had been an adequate amount on the other side, she refocused her chakra, manipulating what was within the water she had directed to the opposite side with the use of a single tiger seal for it to take the shape of a spitting image of herself, creating a water clone.

Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Rank: D
Range: Short-Mid

Damage: 20
Description: Creates small waves of water, small blasts, and small shields of water.

Note: Doesn't require a water source but can be used to manipulate existing water.

Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: After performing the Tiger handseal the user creates a clone of themselves made of water. These water clones have 1/10th of the users chakra. These clones are also limited in that they can only travel short range from the user without losing control. When a water clone take enough damage they revert back to normal water.

Note: Can only perform up to C-rank Water Release techniques, and requires a water source

With the clone now on the other side of the door, she waited patiently for it to undo the locking mechanism that held the door shut. After a couple of sliding clicks, she'd see the door pull open, allowing for her to slip through it the moment it was just wide enough for her to do so. Carefully she moved to close the door just behind her in a slow and quiet fashion, only for her to turn just in time to witness her clone explode in a cascade of the water it was made up from, splattering across the door and wall to her side. Her eyes widened in sudden alarm, of which she hadn't the time to react or register what had happened before a tight, vice-like grip had coiled around her neck. The sharp breath she had taken just prior to this had locked up in her lungs almost immediately as she felt her airways press together tightly, preventing her from so much as gasping for breaths. Her brows knitted tightly together as she slowly raised her hands to grip at the wrist that was connected to the hand that had hold of her. She felt her feet leave the ground as she was casually lifted upward, well above a couple of feet. She tried to follow the trail of the arm to it's source through the strained,

blurring vision she now had. It was the larger man she had been following; Garu.. Her eyes shut tight as she tried to concentrate on prying his fingers loose just enough to fight for a breath, her mouth opening as she let out little more than a soft squeak. Slowly the cloak fell from her head, revealing her vibrant red hair in it's full length. Garu's eyes seemed to widen, even if only by a small amount. He seemed to hesitate for a moment, only before dropping her abruptly. Chise fell to the ground limp, collapsing hard against the stone floor as she began to heave dry, aggressive coughs as oxygen flooded her lungs again. She knew she couldn't stay this way for long; at any second she might be attacked by him again, yet she couldn't concentrate the strength necessary to do so until she'd finally catch her breath. She turned a green eye upward, matching the glaring force that stood in front of her. "i-I.. Ah.. y-You.." She fought with her thoughts in an aggressive jumbling of possible reactions. What was she supposed to do..? Could she fight him if she tried? Could she talk her way out of whatever it was he suspected her of doing..? All she knew was he looked ready to bury her against the stone at any moment, and if she didn't act quickly, regardless of her choice, he'd no doubt do exactly that..

Before she could open her mouth to try and talk again, the man leaned forward, slowly, as though approaching a skittish animal. "
You're.. a woman. Why are you here, woman?" Chise blinked, partially in disbelief. She had thought the man was incapable of speaking, considering how he relied on hand gestures to communicate with the other man during the time she had initially found there back on the road, yet a voice came out; graveled and dry as if he struggled to speak through something that was in his mouth, yet deep and strangely calming. She pondered his question for a moment, unsure of what meaning was behind him specifically hovering on her being a woman, yet she couldn't hesitate for too long. "Uhm.. i-I came to.. help with guarding the book.." Garu was silent for a moment before he straightened his posture, now simply staring down upon her once again. "You.. lie. Like men. Bad at it.." Her shoulders stiffened anxiously as she had been called out without so much as a second thought. Somehow it frustrated her that he had said she was "bad at it," yet at the same time, some would consider that a good thing..

Chise bit against her lip, her thoughts swirling wildly in an effort to determine what she was supposed to do now.. Somehow she suspected this man would easily kill her if he wanted to, yet for some reason he hesitated. Even after he knew she was lying to him, he still hesitated, yet how long would that last if she tried to fight back, or possibly tell more lies that he'd read through? Before she had the opportunity to finalize on a solution, she watched him turned away from her, stepping toward a desk where he grabbed carefully at a book that was resting atop of it, lifting it to attention, revealing it to be the tome she was after. Her eyes widened briefly before she tried to correct her reaction, but it was already too late.. "
That.. is what I thought. Bad.. at hiding true intentions, too.." With a faint twitch of her brow, she could feel the sweat beading down the side of it, her composure slipping away as the facade she had used to get her this far was now falling apart. She realized it was pointless to fight against it now.. ".. You're going to use that to try and hurt a lot of people.. people I care about.. I refuse to let that happen." She held her emerald gaze diligently against his own, as though to reinforce the commitment she had behind her words. She knew there wasn't anything she could say to convince him to just give it to her, so the best option was to just talk, while he was willing, and hopefully find something she could use along the way.

Garu's eyes seemed to soften, but more akin to a dullness, as if her answer wasn't all too surprising, but instead predictable. "
You.. are Tsumigakure, then?" Slowly, Chise nodded. Her hand reaching into the cloak, she plucked from it the headband she had with her, holding it up as proof to her confirmation. She wasn't sure if that was the right thing to do, given this was supposed to be her enemy.. admitting to being one of his could backfire incredibly, but she didn't have much choice. "You.. failed. Caught.. like a mouse. Go home.." Chise's teeth gritted together without her really noticing it. She fought against her knee-jerk thought to react, yet she hadn't the willpower to resist. "I refuse..." She huffed in a wild, heated breath. Garu simply squinted an eye at her, stepping toward her as if to challenge her resolve. "Go--"
"I refuse!" She cried out, much louder than before. She seemed to forget her situation, where she was and what could happen if anyone found out she was here. She clenched her fists, balling them against the ground as she slowly lifted herself to her feet. "I will not turn away and ignore the threat that my village faces. I'll die before I let anyone that I care for get hurt ever again.. If you plan to kill me, then try. But I will fight back, and I will do everything I can to get that book from you to stop this!" She slowly began to pant, the exasperation of her words accompanied by the

constant rushes of adrenaline pumping through her veins was taking a considerable toll by now, yet she couldn't relent. There was a hovering silence for a time, long enough for her to grow curious, lifting her gaze to investigate after the man, who was still standing at the desk with the book. He stared back at her for a time, well enough to create an air of awkwardness, making Chise feel rather self conscious of her outburst a moment ago..

"..
I.. cannot give it to you. I.. am bound by my oath. Like.. you are bound by duty to your village." Chise's brows knitted together as she was denied the book once more. She began to think there wasn't much hope for talking her way through this, and despite her suspicions that she'd not be capable to win a fight against this man, she wouldn't have any other choice but to try. Just as she was beginning to try and work up the courage to step forward in an effort to attack, Garu simply lifted the book and tossed it forward. The book seemed to tear apart the moment it caught the air it soared through, pages fluttering about as the spine of the book practically disintegrated; or what was left of it, that is. Her eyes widened, moving quickly forward to try and grab hold of what she could, yet all that was left in the actually book she now held was a couple of loose pages, while the rest were now scattered everywhere. She turned her gaze up toward him in a questioning look. "w-Why did you--"
"Cannot.. give. But.. will not know what you find yourself." Chise stared at him for a time, her emerald eyes glittering with a knowing gaze as she pondered his words for a time. Finally, she gave him a nod, only to watch him slowly walk past her, careless if he stepped on any of the pages that was now on the ground as he made his way to the door. "I.. am no murderer. This.. "Tiamat" will force us to murder. Keep.. her asleep. I.. will help you do this. When.. the time is right." With that, Garu gripped hold of the handle to the door, pulling it open toward himself before he stepped through it, leaving it open behind him.

With a deep breath, Chise turned her gaze toward the scattered pages. There was hundreds of them.. some too tattered to really make any sense of them. Finally she turned her attention to the loose, nearly empty spine she held. Opening it, she spotted a couple of pages still held in place, one that seemed mostly blank, with the exception of a few scribbles that looked like vague, nondescript footnotes for something that she no longer had references for, apart from what was on the ground, while the other page seemed to have the outline of a sealing technique. She turned her attention to the back of the book, which seemed to have a piece of parchment printed over it, rather than simply being the natural back itself. With a careful tug at the edge with her nail, she pulled the page away, watching as it tore in a couple of places from her being too hasty before it was finally pulled away enough to reveal a rough outline of a map sketched into the book's back, which had been hidden by the paper plastered over it. Her eyes widened gradually as she realized exactly what it was: It lead directly to the "hidden cellar" they spoke of, and now she had both the location and the seal necessary to open it.. Lifting her gaze, Chise turned toward the door as she took in a sharp breath. She had everything she needed now.. the goal was close. All she needed to do now was get there before anyone else did, or before anyone found out that the book was now "stolen." With luck, she'd make it in time.

This message marks the beginning of my mission using the following storyboard elements:
  • Fight an enemy much stronger than yourself (5)
  • Form a summoning Contract with a Mythical Creature (Custom; 4)
  • Save your Clan from a major catastrophe (5)
  • Establish control over a hostile area (5)
Summary: With the sealing technique and the map leading her to the location of the cellar, Chise now has what she needs to reach the location that the enemy seeks. Her only goal now is to make it there before anyone else does, or before they find her. Along the way, she finds herself at a disadvantage, forcing her into a last minute call-to-action that she hadn't expected.

With a deep, steadying breath, Chise clenched the book she now had in hand tightly to her chest. She needed to make her way to the hidden cellar immediately; every second that passed was a second closer to the point that they'd find it before her. She took one final look at the map that was etched along the back of the book, giving herself a clear outline of the path she needed to take in order to reach the cellar. To her surprise, the entrance was back in the main courtyard that she was in previously, along with all the other members of the bandit group. In fact, it was arranged near the pillars that seemingly had no purpose that she originally had hidden behind during the appearance of the Child of Tiamat. She had originally suspected that they were simply the product of standing the test of time longer than that of whatever they originally were made to support, yet instead, it seemed as though they were intentionally placed there as a strangely obvious yet easily overlook landmark to identify the location of the entrance. With a forward gaze, she made her way toward the still open door, tucking the book away into her cloak as she turned her gaze back and forth, both up the spiraling stairs, then down, looking for anyone that could be walking around. At a glance, it seemed as though she was the only one in the entire tower; she couldn't so much as hear a footstep anywhere, which caused a curious unease to rise in her, yet she decided not to think too much of it. It was a race against time at this point, and she knew she had to take every opportunity she could to get ahead.

Quickly, Chise began to rush down the staircase. She was still conscious of the noise she was making; even though she couldn't see anyone, she didn't want to make herself too obvious still. As soon as her feet landed upon the ground level platform, she began to rush toward the staircase that would descend toward the courtyard once again. However, the moment she'd look the corner of the doorway, time would practically freeze from her perspective as tension violently rippled through her body in an instant. Something wasn't right.. As she was mid-motion, she felt her emerald gaze shifting to the side, only to see the drooling mess of a pale husk moving to lunge toward her from the side of the entryway she had just rushed through. All she could manage was to try and adjust her balance while in the process of transitioning herself from flat footing to the stairs down in front of her, hoping to throw herself away from the undead corpse. Inevitably it would reach her, latching harshly to her arms, yet she could push hard against it, forcing herself backwards down the stairs in a violent tumbling motion along with the undead, finally landing along the first platform that separated the two sets of stairs that lead up to the tower she had just left, sitting atop the corpse. Just as it began to make an effort to snap at her, she had planted her hand firmly against it's head, pushing it back down against the stone floor as water chakra coursed rapidly through her veins. With a loud cry, she released the concentrated chakra forward in the form of a violent jet of water that would split the undead's skull clean, leaving a motionless husk beneath her..

Chise slowly lifted her attention up, panting heavily from the sudden spike in adrenaline that was now coursing through her veins. She turned her focus toward the courtyard below, only to see the mass collection of husks, all who seemed oddly familiar.. Many sported weighted vests, dark cloaks, and tattered bandages... They were the bandits that occupied the fortress. Every last one had been turned into the Undead, but when? Chise gritted her teeth as she slowly stood to her feet, yet just as she did her attention caught a silhouette behind her, stirring another spark of intense fight-or-flight that would jump from her stomach. She rapidly weaved wood chakra through her form, manifesting it as rapidly as she could at her hands to form the growth of a wooden shield that would sprout from her body as the catalyst, hoping to defend herself as she'd make an effort to push herself up and away from the body that had snuck up behind her.

Type: Supplementary/Defensive
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: The user forms a shield of wood, which consists of three round parts out of his hand. The shield is very durable and can be removed and reconditioned any time the user wants to.

Yet the effort made seemed fruitless.. No later than immediately after the point at which she had manifested the shield, a single palm that came crashing against the framework of the wood that had been formed, the cracking of electricity pulsating from the strike as it'd collide with the wood, yet something seemed different about the strike. It had more force behind it than any simple palm strike could be expected to have, even with the enhancement of lightning chakra applied to the strike. Within seconds the wood shield was splintered apart against the force of the strike, the palm following through with ease as it moved to strike along Chise's chin. Luckily, through the leaning of her weight backward that she had begun to apply, accompanied by the blunt force of the palm striking against her shield creating a shoving momentum that began to push her away from the following palm well enough that she only narrowly escaped it making contact..

Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short – Long
Chakra: N/A (+50 chakra cost to applied technique)
Damage: N/A
Description: An enhancement cast through the user’s body as an extension to their techniques by infusing a considerable amount of chakra into them, along with trace amounts of the Sea of Life, occurring within the same timeframe. This causes any technique of the user’s to be augmented with a curse that is cast through the Sea of Life. The curse, much like the tether formed through Hungry Ghost, forms a bond through traditional counters against the user’s techniques. When the user’s techniques either strike the opponent or a source of their chakra the curse will bind to it. Those afflicted will suffer from physically debilitating effects; their maximum health will be reduced by 10 points, all damage they receive will be increased by 10% if directly struck, and they must spend 10% increased chakra for all of their techniques, not counting as additional chakra input but simply strain on their reserves. The health reduction does not count as damage, it simply counts as a reduction in maximum reserves. When the tether is broken the opponent will receive their lost health back, not including any damage sustained in the time before then. Effects of Eye of the Red Star can stack per clash between techniques, amplifying the negative effects considerably. The tether effect of Eye of the Red Star can be blocked or broken through techniques that include Yin-Yang Release or Natural Energy of equivalent chakra to the technique used. The infusion of Red Star does not count toward additional chakra infusion, simply increased strain on reserves. This technique can be used four times per battle.

Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20 + 50 = 70
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will strike the target into the air with a lightning infused uppercutting palm attack.

In a flash of light, Chise found herself huffing sharp, strained breaths against the dirt ground suddenly. Only moments ago, she was halfway up the stairs leading to the central tower, but now she was at ground level with the courtyard. The strike had completely thrown her down the rest of the way. Slowly she moved to pick herself up, yet she could only really feel one of her arms. The other felt.. numb, as though it had been completely shattered apart. She eyed the arm, it's unwillingness to respond to her commands, no doubt the muscles and nerves still overwhelmed by the shock of the blunt force that had smashed against it by destroying the shield she had made. Carefully she turned her gaze up the length of the stairs, trying to eye who had attacked her. No undead could possibly use such a powerful attack, she thought.. They were reckless, violent monsters, but they were nothing but that, incapable of proper Ninjutsu or Taijutsu unless they were of the Edo Tensei, yet she suspected none of them could have been such an advanced creation.

Her emerald eyes widened. The being who had attacked her was in fact the Child of Tiamat itself. She felt her form freeze in place as she struggled

to maintain her composure. She needed to retaliate, yet her body refused to move.. It was more than simply the shock of the attack she had just suffered, of having fallen down the stairs twice now; fear overtook her now more than ever. All times prior to this, she had relied on others stronger than her to help her survive it. Mirabelle, Sado and everyone else in the village. But now she was very much alone, surrounded by the undead, and one of the most powerful creatures she had ever faced. The thought of death was ripe in her mind and impossible for her to ignore as she stared upon the casually descending Child of Tiamat, his rusted greaves clanking with each step he took, slowly but surely reaching closer and closer to where she was. "You have something that belongs to me, little bird. I suggest you return it to me." Chise felt the hairs stand up on the back of her neck as she fought to keep down whatever was in her gut that was struggling to come out in a fit of despair and anxiety. She didn't have time to react, time to think.. She needed to do something or she was as good as dead..

Swiftly she moved her hands in front of her. She began to harness a swelling rush of water chakra through her system as she moved to take advantage of her specialized knowledge of water techniques by performing a singular handseal to manipulate the water chakra into a massive manifestation of water that began to swirl around her. The water quickly began to mold itself through the use of the chakra she had infused into it, gradually forming into an immense dragon's head that she had focused forward after it's formation, maintaining the tiger handseal to allow for her to control the body of water in a narrow assault all the way toward the Child of Tiamat. In an immediate followup, Chise quickly inhaled, kneading chakra through her chest before conjuring it forth from her mouth in a powerful, overwhelming torrent of water that would propel forward like that of a bullet, washing like a violent wave toward the same location as her previous technique, aiming to collide against him one after the other.

Type: Offensive/Defensive
Rank: S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 40 (+10 to sustain)
Damage: 80
Description: After performing the Dragon → Tiger handseals, this technique will summon a large amount of water near the user that will then be used to strike at the opponent in several versatile ways. Shizuku has been known to transform it into a dragon with a gaping mouth to attack though the user can shape it in any way he needs for his intended purpose. The water used will be stationary till it is sent offensively toward the opponent and as long as the user fuels it and the technique isn't fully negated, the Tiger handseal can be sustained and the water manipulated and used. The technique can also be used from nearby water sources, including low rank water techniques, for the same effect. Due to the immense control needed, the technique is considered a highly advanced use of water release, requiring the user to possess a primary water specialty to use.

Type: Offensive/Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description: The user inhales and molds a great amount of chakra into their chest, exhaling a very large quantity of water in the form of a powerful torrent towards their intended target. The stream of water is so powerful and concentrated it can rip through most obstacles in its path. The stream itself contains so much concentrated water that it can flood medium to large sized depressions of the battle field in relatively short amounts of time.

Chise watched on in anticipation while she began to pant aggressively. The use of two high-ranked jutsu back to back was something she hadn't done yet, and it was certainly taking a toll on her body far beyond anything she could have anticipated. Yet the adrenaline kept her going, at least for now, as she waited to see the result of her attacks.
"Such childish retaliation.. You humans are all the same, it sickens me."

Suddenly, she felt the first technique disperse against what appeared to be a large wash of black, mud-like sludge that had erupted from the body of the Child of Tiamat. It seemed to practically bleed from him, yet no wound existed. It was as though it were merely an extension of his own being, rushing outwardly to his defense. Yet despite the use of it as a means to defend himself, it seemed to persist well past the dispersal of the first technique, flowing down the stairs like running water that had a thick consistency resembling tar. The second bullet of water continued to rush toward him, of which a second burst of black mud had suddenly erupted from his back, causing a second wash of the substance to collide against her water bullet. Though the bullet managed to persist past the initial spawn of sludge, something else had dispersed it upon collision. As the two techniques gradually cleared, the Child of Tiamat's visible form had been replaced by two large, charcoal grey, bat-like wings. They had stern, muscular veins rippling across their webbing between each bone-like frame that was set within the thick, leathery flesh. The water bullet had seemed to cause some damage, but that damage had quickly begun to burn away, as if regenerating the damage that was dealt almost immediately..

Type: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary
Rank: B – S (S)
Range: Short – Long
Chakra: 40 – 60
Damage: 80 – 100
Description: The Sea of Life is the principle and signature skill of all Children of Tiamat; like Tiamat, it is a manifestation of their will and an extension of their own bodies. In essence, the Sea of Life emulates the concept of all life being born from the sea. Unlike the All-Mother, the Children of Tiamat expend considerable chakra when accessing this technique, or its variants. The black mud can be generated from any part of the user’s body and is of extraordinarily high density, allowing it to easily engulf and overcome physical obstacles. When used the scale of this technique can vary depending on the rank used; at its highest rank it can surpass even that of Water Release: Great Waterfall. Through physical force alone it can overwhelm multiple opponents, carrying immense concussive force. The user is able to release the mud from their body in any shape that they choose, limited only by their imagination and rank. The technique carries with it the Amino-Geis, forcibly converting whoever is caught into a slave of the user. The mud can be blocked or sealed, although it must respect neutrality and damage values. S-Rank applications can be used thrice per battle, once every two turns.

Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: N/A (Self)
Chakra: 50 (-20 per turn)
Damage: N/A
Description: This technique generates Sea of Life material through the user’s own veins, derived from Takauji Ashikaga’s use of Voidborne Corruption. The purpose of Primordial Reshaping is to, with a limited amount of Sea of Life, allow the user to flow it through their form and reshape their body to a limited degree. With this technique the user can grow in size, up to a maximum of twice their current size, or grow smaller. The user can grow additional limbs, or heal lost limbs. They can grow horns, tails, claws, wings to fly, or chitinous armor on their body. When activated, regardless of the changes that the user wills, their skin will turn a darker ash grey. The technique will heal the user for 80 health (40 per turn) and increase their speed by 3.0x for its duration, following the type of alteration they make. For example, if they grow stronger legs then the user will run faster. If they grow wings then the user will fly faster. This technique can be used two times per battle, once per opponent. It lasts for four turns and cannot be used once it expires for three turns.

Slowly, the wings unfolded from their forward arrangement ahead of him, moving back behind him with a subtle rock of his shoulders backward, as though breaking away any tension his body may have taken on from the sudden mutation he had undertaken. Chise stared on in disbelief.. Both of her strongest attacks had been shrugged off so carelessly. The Child of Tiamat simply tilted his head toward one side, a resounding cracking rippling through the air before he straightened his attention and once again began his descent toward her. Chise stumbled backward, landing flatly on her side as she struggled to try and catch her fall, only to fall limp along the still numb arm. She gritted her teeth as she clenched at the dirt beneath her. Suddenly, she felt the book in her cloak shift, reminding her of what her one goal was this entire time.. "You will return the book to me. I will bestow the blessing of the Mother upon you as I have done for all of these other unworthy, yet modestly useful humans, and you shall lead me to the cellar. Do not resist me, or I will simply kill you.." Chise swallowed hard in an effort to wet her drying throat as she took in his words. So the "blessing" he spoke of was nothing more than turning living beings into the undead.. Mindless, lifeless husks that were nothing but fodder for their goals.. She'd rather die than be forced into such an imprisonment.

Quickly, Chise lunged to her feet, darting toward the pillars in a final effort to try and create distance between her and the Child of Tiamat. She needed to open the cellar and get into it, where she hoped she might find a weapon to use against him in some capacity. If not, she'd at the very least try to destroy whatever she'd find. At least then it'd prevent him from using anything against the village.. As soon as she had made for the pillars, the Child of Tiamat had taken to his newfound wings, soaring forward from the stairs he stood upon as he began to dart toward Chise in rapid descent. He extended an arm out, ready to pierce through her like a javelin..

Chise's eyes curved toward the nearing Child of Tiamat, suspecting that she had no means to retaliate. Suddenly, a hulking form had stepped between her and the Child of Tiamat, whose arm instead pierced through their form, squarely in their chest. Chise's eyes widened slowly as she took in the back of the form that stood in front of her now. The long, flowing braided hair down the back, bulky figure, and the attire of the bandits.. "g-Garu..?" She let the name slip from her lips as she stared for a moment. Rapidly, Garu's arms lifted, his meaty hands tightly coiling around the Child of Tiamat's arm, restraining him from withdrawing it. He lifted his gaze, eyeing them with dark, heavy eyes. "Earth Release: Dog Raising Robust Lord.." Suddenly, the earth had begun to shape around the sides of the pair as canine-like incarnations has taken form and hurled upward, surrounding the Child of Tiamat and biting sharply along his form; some into his shoulders, others on his arms and legs, while some also moved to bite into Garu as well, each canine touching and connected in some way. Quickly he focused further chakra forth before letting out a heavy breath. "Earth Release: Super Added Weight Rock Technique.." Abruptly each of the stone canines had rapidly grown in their weighted burden by nearly a hundred fold. This weight was immense, forcing the ground the shatter into a webbing of cracks around them, forcing Garu to his knees, which only brought the Child of Tiamat with him. Garu slowly turned his weighted gaze back toward Chise, who stared on in disbelief at the event before he huffed a bloodied, gurgled breath. "Go.. Now."

Type: Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Mid - Long
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description: A technique where the user creates ferocious canine chakra avatars from the land itself. They will pursue their targets relentlessly in order to clamp down on them with their jaws, restraining and crushing them, and their speed is so great that they were even able to catch Sage ranked Ninja. The user can also transmit elemental jutsu through the body of one of the canines after it grasps a target, causing it to travel the length of its body at normal speeds until it erupts from the mouth.

Type: Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Short
Chakra: 40
Damage: N/A (+40 if used to add damage)
Description: A more advanced version of the Earth Release: Added Weight Rock Technique, in which the user drastically increases the weight of any object in direct physical contact, but to a much greater extent than that of the original ability. This technique can increase the weight of a target up to 100 times. Under certain circumstances, the technique can be used to increase the force behind attacks.
Note: The weight change lasts 2 turns or until countered.

Chise gritted her teeth together sharply, biting at her lip in between the tightness of her clenched jaw which began to draw blood along the inside of her lip. She wanted to help him, but she knew there was nothing she could do, especially with the opportunity he had created for her to get away. ".. Garu.. Thank you..!" She called out before quickly whipping around and darting toward the pillars once again. The Child of Tiamat looked toward her, of which seemed to ignite a thirsty rage from the Undead that filled the courtyard and began to rush toward her while he continued to try and pry his arm free from Garu. Suddenly, the Sea of Life that had previously poured from him and had rolled down the stairs after it's use had started to pool around him and Garu, only for it to suddenly erupt in a burst of a haze-like substance that would instantly overtake their immediate location. The haze was scorching to the touch, burning away Garu's flesh and even the stone canine that he had created to hold the Child of Tiamat in place, threatening to reduce each of them to mere fuel added to the Sea of Life substance.

Type: Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Short – Long
Chakra: 60
Damage: 120
Description: A technique cast on Sea of Life material currently on the battlefield, or from the user’s own mouth. The technique essentially converts Sea of Life material, in its mud state in either the user’s body or in the surrounding environment, into a toxic black vapor. The black smog, when produced from the user’s body, will fill an area mid-range around them. When used from Sea of Life material, the smog will form in a one range-radius larger than the applied quantity; for example, if the user uses this on a pool of Sea of Life that is short-range in radius, the vapor will fill an area equivalent to mid-range. The toxic vapor is remarkably hot, capable of melting solid matter although it cannot harm the user or their Sea of Life familiars in any way. It is extremely hazardous to living things not currently influenced by the Sea of Life, meaning other Children of Tiamat are immune to the effects of this technique. Vile Haze also does not carry with it the intrinsic properties of the Amino-Geis. This technique can be used three times per battle.

As the Undead and the black smog began to work their way toward Chise's newfound location between the pillars, she swiftly plucked the book free from her cloak, opening it to one of the two loose pages that were still left inside. Without so much as uttering a word, the page seemed to ignite in a glowing radiance, of which seemed to reflect on the pillars as well. This gradually began the opening process of a hidden cellar door that was beneath the earth between the pillars, opening up to a set of stairs that lead down into darkness that wasn't entirely clear to see through. Chise turned her gaze over her shoulder to eye the fast approaching horde, as well to see the Child of Tiamat slowly emerging from the vapor that had been created, now having broken free from the bindings that he had been put under by Garu. Without another moment's hesitation, Chise rapidly descended into the cellar, only to drop into a dusty room full of decrepit books and scrolls, some old, dusted weapons and armor, among other things.. She wasn't sure how any of this could possibly be seen as weapons capable of causing anyone any harm. Yet one scroll seemed to sit out amongst the rest.. As she attempted to approach it, an Undead had managed to close the gap behind her, now hurling over her, claw-like fingers digging into her cloak as it forced her to the ground, crashing into the old, rotten wood table, breaking it apart as all it's contents fell to the floor in a flurried mess surrounding her and the Undead. She planted her hands against it's maw, straining to force it away from herself, letting out disgruntled cries as she tried to lean away from it, despite laying flat against an unmoving ground. The flailing form of the Undead inevitably caught her arms, shredding at them and forming gashes, drawing blood that would begin to drip down her arm and around her. The blood began to cover across a scroll that had landed near her, having snapped open in the mass confusion after being struck off the table. Turning her focus toward it for only a moment, she recognized a familiar summoning circle etched across it's surface..

In one final effort, Chise quickly kicked up against the Undead's body, hurling it backwards across the floor. She didn't have long before it would be on top of her once again. Rapidly she turned, holding a hand to the scroll as she began to smear her blood across the scroll, drawing out her name with the blood that leaked from her arm's wounds. Once completed, she quickly clapped her hand against the center summoning circle, which immediately resulted in a growing illumination of light that consumed the room before a large eruption of smoke followed after the fact. Lunging through the bellowing white smoke, a black canine whipped across the room and tackled the Undead to the ground before biting forward at it's

skull, piercing through it with ease and reducing the once violent husk into a motionless corpse that it had started as.. The hound turned toward Chise, with glistening ruby red eyes, he heaved a heavy, steaming breath of air. "
So.. you are my new master then?" Chise blinked in somewhat disbelief, sitting silently on the ground as she eyed the mystical creature standing before her. She had never seen a talking canine before.. yet something told her this was no ordinary dog.. She watched it turn it's gaze toward the top of the stairs before letting out a low growl. "More restless souls.. I shall dispatch them immediately." Without hesitation, the hound lunged up the stairs in rapid succession, one after the other. Before Chise could call out for it to wait, it had already been halfway up the stairs. Quickly Chise climbed up with him, now standing side by side with him at the top, eyeing the large group of Undead scattered throughout the courtyard, all seemingly waiting for her to emerge.

Description: This technique grants the user the means to summon the Church Guardian (also known as Church Grim) Ruth, who is the personal summon for Chise. The user, following one of the typical means of summoning, whether it be through hand seals, a summoning scroll, or summoning tattoo, bring forward the Church Grim Ruth. Ruth is a large, jet black canine with red eyes that consist with the characteristics of a Church Grim. He stands roughly 4 feet in height and approximately 6 feet in length from tailbone to snout, but up to 22 feet long in total when accounting for the maximum length of his tail up to 16 feet independently. As an A-rank summoning, Ruth is capable of performing the two basic elements of Earth and Fire that the Church Grim is known for; manipulating their Chakra with precision and efficiency that allows them to perform up to A-rank techniques from both elements without the need for hand seals or gestures. Exceptionally, due to Ruth's nature as a Church Grim and their natural affinity for the Earth Element, Ruth is capable of performing up to two S-rank Earth techniques per encounter. Finally, like all Church Grim, Ruth is capable of performing the natural ability of biting (A-rank damage) twice per encounter, while tackling and clawing (C-rank damage) can be performed a combined total of four times per encounter, at the cost of one of the user's 3 Jutsu slots per turn each.

The hound casually turned toward Chise, who only gazed back to him as well. "I will dispatch them with your order." Chise blinked in something of disbelief, unsure of just how he intended to deal with so many at once.. "u-Uhm.. Sure, that'd be great. But there's.. so many.." The hound simply snubbed it's nose toward the sky as it practically rolled it's eyes at her concern. "That won't be a problem. I am a Church Grim, after all." Chise's eyes widened at the mention of a what the hound truly was. She hadn't realized what she had begun to form a pact with. All she knew was she needed assistance immediately, and a summoning scroll seemed as close to a handout as she could get. She signed it without even reading what it was.. How ironic that, among an ocean of Undead, the one summoning that she would find would be the one best equipped to deal with them.. The Grim approached casually forward by a few paces before the very air surrounding him began to practically radiate with a thick tension. His teeth began to bare as a harsh, wet growl began to roll from his throat, his fur fluttering against a breeze that seemed to only exist around him. "You all will return to your graves at once: Spirits do not belong in this plain of existence!" The Grim exclaimed before bellowing a deafening howl into the air above him. The howl carried like a shockwave across the entire courtyard, rattling the ground and stirring the loose dirt and sand around like a sudden storm. Chise recalled reading of the Church Grim in an old text she had found not long ago among her studies in Tsumigakure.. They were spectral guardians that existed to guard the grave sites of the deceased. Any who would rise from their slumber, would be hunted down by the Church Grim, and forced to return to their slumber through a commanding howl that would shake the bones of the restless dead until they were returned to the soil once again. This was referred to as "Resurgence Overrule."

Not long after the howl had carried across the entire courtyard, each of the Undead seemed to stop in their tracks before they seemed to begin convulsing before falling apart like fragile decks of cards. One after the other they toppled over to the ground, lifeless and motionless. At the center of the bodies stood the Child of Tiamat, who stared down Chise and the Church Grim, who both stood attentively, waiting to retaliate against anything that the Child might attempt. Slowly, the Child of Tiamat begins to turn away from them, extending his wings outward as though readying himself to take off toward the sky. Chise stepped forward with a clenched fist and a twitchy brow.. "w-Wait! Where do you think you're going?!" The Child of Tiamat peered past the edge of his own shoulder toward Chise, offering a slight shake of his head. "That mutt is a bother.. And you are not worth my time. Everything that I had come here for is no longer within my grasp, so I will move on for now. If you think you wish to fight me, then I welcome you to meet your death if you pursue me..."
With that, the Child of Tiamat didn't hesitate a moment longer before pushing off against the ground with his wings, hurling himself toward the sky like an arrow before soaring off into the distance, past the ramparts of the Fortress and far out of sight.

"
Hmm.. He smelled of death and decay, but he seemed unaffected by my howl. I wonder--" Before he could finish the thought, Chise had

suddenly fallen backwards, collapsed along the ground. The Grim turned toward her and quickly rushed to her side, pushing his cold nose against her cheek to stir a reaction from her. Slowly she lifted a hand, moving to comb her fingers through his jet black fur. Heavy bags weighed beneath her eyes as she strained to remain conscious for much longer.. ".. I'm Chise.. Hatori.. You truly.. saved my life, today.." She whispered tiredly, tears slowly welling at her eyes as the sudden realization of the severity of everything she had just gone through began to become more and more apparent to her. The Grim eyed her quietly for a moment, only to slowly lean closer into her until he was laying flat by her head, his tail coiling over her in a protective gesture. "
My name is Ruth. You should rest, you've exhausted a lot of Chakra.." Chise's emerald eyes slowly fluttered shut, a faint smile playing along her lips as she heard his name before her eyes closed entirely in a restful manner. "Ruth.. Thank you.."

This message marks the beginning of my mission using the following storyboard elements:
  • Reflect on events after a fight (Custom; 1)
  • Finish a chore using Ninjutsu (1)
  • Give someone their funerary rites (Custom; 2)
  • Set up a secure camp (2)
Summary: The immediate threat had past and Chise successfully drove off the Child of Tiamat from the Fortress of Warenaiwa, securing it at least momentarily for her to have an opportunity to make the arrangements to begin settling the Library she had originally set out to build. But at what cost..?

Several hours had passed since the final moments of the conflict Chise had gotten herself into. The fight not just for the Fortress, or even her own life, but a fight that meant stopping those she cared for getting hurt as a consequence of ignoring it all. The Child of Tiamat had fled, perhaps to regroup or simply to move toward other goals entirely, yet regardless of what they were meant to do, it would doubtless be in an effort to bring ruin to the Ninja World in any possible way.. After all, that's what Tiamat seemed to represent: Carnage, destruction, rebirth in her own image.

Chise had been unconscious for quite some time; the sun had time to carve it's path through the sky and grow nearer to the horizon, leaving a warm sun-kissed hue to tint the region in an undeniably beautiful sunset. She began to feel her consciousness sliding back to her, yet she seemed to remain hidden behind her eyelids for a moment longer, as though resisting waking up at all. She could feel the soreness in nearly every inch of her body; something to be expected after being rag-dolled around nearly the entire Fortress. She had gone through a lot, and now she was feeling the effects of it now that the adrenaline was exhausted from her system. She was afraid to move at the risk of causing some part of her body to scream at her, yet she knew that staying here much longer wasn't a great option either..

Suddenly, she felt the brush of something ticklish pass just under her nose, then again across the top of her nose.. It sent a shiver down her spine as she couldn't quite place what was causing it, forcing her to slowly begin opening her eyes. She blinked away the heaviness that still weighed against them, fighting against her attempts to fully wake up. Gradually she shifted her head back in an effort to tilt her gaze to see if anything stood behind her. Yet oddly, instead of feeling the stiffness of the ground, she felt her head sink slightly into a warm, soft surface. Almost like a pillow, but if it had.. fur? Suddenly, she spotted a lengthy black tail flick across the air in front of her in a slow, casual motion. Carefully she turned her head sideward, only for her emerald eyes to fall upon the resting head of a black hound.. She had completely forgot.

Just as Chise made an effort to open her mouth to speak, she was cut off instead by a soft, vaguely familiar voice. "
Good evening, Master." The Church Grim's head slowly lifted from it's resting place along his front paws, deep, crimson red eyes shifting to match her attention. "Did you sleep well?" Chise wasn't all too sure how to reply at first. She was still in the process of remembering everything that had happened, leading up to her inadvertently making a contract with this very being. Suddenly she realized the question she had been asked, and of course she didn't want to be rude.. "Ah.. Good evening to you too, Ruth. And yes. Or, at least I think I did.." Slowly she began to sit up, first lifting her head then rocking her shoulders forward, pushing up against her palms to the ground in an effort to support herself. "Also, Chise is just fine.. I'm not really used to "master," and for some reason I feel like I'd like to keep it that way.." Slowly she lifted a hand to rub bashfully at the back of her head, an awkward, faint laugh escaping her as she made an effort to try and avoid a hovering silence. Ruth eyed her for a moment, practically raising a brow across his canine features before he slowly began to push himself up as well, now sitting beside her for a few lingering minutes of silence, as if just enjoying a moment of the cool, evening air.

"
So, Chise, what's the plan now?" She hadn't really given it much thought.. She knew that she needed to explore the Fortress and establish some semblance of security in it as a means to help ensure that vagabonds or bandits didn't try to move in again any time she might be away. But something else seemed more pressing on her mind.. She hesitated a moment, nipping lightly along her lower lip; she didn't want to think about it, but her thoughts screamed at her to address the issue. Slowly, her gaze shifted sideward to one end of the courtyard, where black soot scarred the ground in a full radius around a central point, where a large body, decayed away down to bone and charred flesh laid in a pile. The person was by all accounts entirely unidentifiable given their condition, yet Chise knew exactly who it was.. ".. He helped me get away from the Child of Tiamat.. He gave his life for me to reach the cellar, where I found you.. I want to bury him, if that's alright." Ruth perked his head up at the suggestion, turning his own attention toward the same body that Chise eyed, then back to her with a subtle nod. "I think that would be appropriate. We should also consider burying all the others, too. Spirits will wander and remain restless if their bodies are not returned to ash or the soil." He cast his attention out across the large number of other bodies that were in the courtyard as well; all those that had been turned into husks that served nothing but the Child of Tiamat's own ends. It was senseless death, all of it.. Chise gave a nod in affirmation, carefully pushing off of the ground to stand as she began to slowly roll up her sleeves. "Alright then, we better get started before we lose the last of our daylight."

With that, both Chise and Ruth had begun to prepare themselves for the rather uncomfortable process of gathering the dead and preparing them for burial. To start, she considered what might help them; a way to simplify some of the tedious work in an effort to help speed up the process so that they might get to everyone. Then, it struck her. Reaching around to her lower back, Chise pulled from it a sealed scroll, of which she unraveled to reveal a lengthy scroll that included a list of medical tools and equipment that could be summoned. She read across the contents before she settled on a selection, moving to nip faintly at her thumb before proceeding to write out the kanji she had been given at the time of receiving the scroll. As a result, a large plume of white smoke erupted from the scroll. Once cleared, two mobile medical beds had spawned, accompanied with a couple sterile bottles of water for when they would inevitably need to re-hydrate.

Once she had finished summoning the tools through her medical scroll, Chise casually began to roll it back up and returned it to her back pack. From there, she began to harness a portion of her earth-based chakra toward her hands. Once she felt there was an adequate amount generated, she moved to plant her hands into the ground directly in front of her after crouching toward it. In doing so, she began to infuse her chakra through the stone, utilizing it as a means to mold the material to the image she had pictured in her mind: If they were going to be burying anyone, they'd need a shovel to dig the graves. Once she felt confident in the design of what she aimed to create, she carefully began to lift her hand from the ground-up, watching as the stone followed her reach, as if being manipulated by her will, forming a roughly 4 foot pole shape, then curving off at the end in a jagged shovel-head shape.

With a proud and resolute nod for having accomplished what she wanted, Chise moved to turn her attention toward Ruth, only to find that he had long since left the courtyard and had made his way for an outer edge, just outside of the Fortress. Chise managed to spot him from the gate, unsure of what exactly it was he planned to do. Suddenly, Ruth began to produce a larger quantity of earth chakra, his long, whip-like tail swaying through the air surrounding him. Standing at the face of a wide, open cliff range, he casually lifted a front paw before dropping it back down against the ground, causing his chakra to flow rapidly through the earth, molding through the stone of several dozen locations. Gradually each location began to sink into the ground; rectangular-like shapes that were each exactly the same in length and width, as well depth, sinking no deeper than 6 feet below the surface. It was quite clear that they were all intended to be graves.

the tool necessary to do the same thing, but with far greater effort on her part. She lowered her eyes to the makeshift shovel in her hand that she had been so proud of only a moment ago, staring at it for a lingering moment before sighing in defeat. Ruth had since trotted casually up to her, blinking at her wordless air of defeat in confusion, unsure of why she looked at the tool so. Yet before he had the opportunity to ask, she simply moved to set lean it against a wall before turning back toward Ruth with a faint smile. "I feel like I'm going to learn a lot from you.. Alright, let's get started." She knew it wasn't right of her to feel annoyed with Ruth. After all, he simply had the better and more efficient method, and that was something she couldn't help but admit to.

It didn't take them long to get to work. Chise began to push around the mobile medical beds, arranging them in positions that lined up to certain bodies before she'd watch Ruth approach and utilize his tail to effortlessly lift each larger body up onto the bed. Despite the thin, long appearance of the tail, he was clearly capable of using it in more unique ways than she originally thought. Each time they would fill a bed, often times with more than one body to each, they would push it over to a set of graves and begin to designate one grave at a time per body, offloading them carefully and with as much respect as they could manage under the circumstances and conditions, dropping them lightly into the holes before sealing them up with the use of chakra manipulation through the earth to fill in the graves gradually. They would each take turns performing this process, switching off for every set to help alleviate the potential for exhaustion or strain on their chakra reserves as they continued to do so for what seemed like multiple hours straight.

The final flicker of light was beginning to creep below the horizon as they approached with the final body left in the Fortress: Garu.. Slowly it was lowered into the grave left for it. Once finished and sealed, Chise hovered for a time, uncertain of whether or not she had done enough.. He had given his life for hers, yet somehow she didn't even get the opportunity to know who he was, least of all appreciate them as a person. Would they have become friends, if they had the chance? Would she have been able to convince him to join Tsumigakure and leave the life of crime behind? These were now all unanswered questions, ones that she'd have to live with until her own time would come..

Slowly, Chise approached the grave of Garu, moving to kneel in front of it as she began to conjure forth a growth of her wood chakra through her system before pushing it through the ground beneath her, concentrated just above the grave. Once an adequate amount had been formed, a roots began to break apart the ground, digging deep into the earth as a tree began to spring to life in a sudden, rapid growth, forming a freshly sprouted willow tree. Once the tree had fully formed, it's base arranged at the head of the grave as though meant to represent a dedicated "gravestone," she approached it, plucking from her hip a cloth pouch she had been given before by one of the other bandits, meant for Garu. She carefully placed it at the base of the tree before stepping back a couple of paces, clapping her hands lightly together and lowering her head in a gentle, silent prayer..

After several minutes had passed in hovering silence for the dead, Ruth sat beside Chise with a similar air of composure and respect. After awhile, Chise finally lifted her head, her emerald eyes fixed on the willow tree in front of her. "I hope you find peace.. all of you." With one final bow of her head, she turned toward Ruth, who offered a gentle reaffirming nod of approval to her before they both turned and began their walk back toward the Fortress. Now that the cleanup work was done, their next goal was to set up a camp. It didn't need to be fancy, or even something that would stand up to any test of nature, but simply to get them through the night.

Once they stood in the courtyard once again, Chise eyed around for a moment before an invisible light bulb flickered to life above her head. Pulling forth the same medical scroll she had used before the summon the mobile medical beds, she unraveled it and searched for one specific line that described a small tent that could be utilized for two. It was perfect, and accommodated exactly what they needed at that given moment. The night had set in and they didn't have much time before it's chill would begin to creep up on them. Chise reopened the mark on her hand from before to perform the necessary signing that would result in another signature plume of smoke before clearing away to reveal the tent she desired. Though it was simple in design, it would certainly work for what they needed. With the tent secured, she eyed it for a moment before turning her

attention to Ruth. "Hey.. can you use fire jutsu?" Ruth tilted his head to the side slightly in a silent gesture of curiosity as he considered her question before answering. "Well, of course. Can't you?" Chise felt heat rise to the tops of her ears as embarrassment painted vividly across her cheeks as she made an effort to disappear into her own shoulders bashfully. "Uhm.. It's the one nature I haven't really been able to learn.. yet.. b-But I'm working on it!" She blurted out in a rush of annoyance for the growing awkwardness of the subject.

Ruth simply chuckled before standing and moving ahead of the tent Chise had summoned by a few feet before he began to dig away at the ground a bit with his front paws, forming a small hole in it's place. He'd turn his attention toward her once more, ensuring she met his eyes before gesturing with his snout toward it. "Well, don't feel too bad. As a Church Grim, the only affinities I have are Earth and Fire. I just assumed fire was one that every Shinobi knew very early on, but clearly you've many other specialties to make up for it. Do you think you could make some of that wood of yours in this small hole? I can make a fire, sure, but it'll need fuel to sustain itself." Chise huffed softly, the heat that had overcame her cheeks lingering despite the reassurance she had been given, yet this time it was less about what originally got to her, and now that she had seemingly become so defensive over something so trivial. Ready to move past it, she nodded to Ruth before doing as he asked. Casually she conjured some lingering remnants of her wood chakra before focusing it into her hand, gradually molding her flesh into several thick branches. She stood over the hole, now casually snapping each branch off, as though not really thinking about how they more or less once were things like her fingers.. Yet as soon as she had finished, she easily reverted her hand back to normal, flexing her fingers as though to confirm they were still functional in place. Immediately afterward, Ruth stepped up to the hole once again, coiling his tail around from his side as he pointed the tip of it toward the newfound pile of twigs and branches. Fire chakra began to gather along the length of the tail, centralized at it's tip before it formed into a simple stream of fire that spewed forward and into the branches, immediately igniting them and setting ablaze a modest campfire meant to stave off the growing cold of the night air.

This message marks the end of my mission.

With the camp now set, Chise and Ruth both sat by the fire for a time, yet it wasn't long before Chise found herself nodding off. Even despite the dirt nap she took earlier, her body was still very much struggling to recover fully, especially after having performed so many techniques immediately after awakening, even if most were minor ones. Slowly she stood up and moved toward the tent, only to turn her gaze back to see Ruth still laying by the fire. She blinked, of which he caught her gaze a moment later and cocked his head. ".. Uhm. Aren't you coming?" She hummed in a rather simple questioning tone. Ruth seemed to open his mouth to respond with some form of excuse as to why he intended to refuse, but he simply shook his head, as if to shake away the thought. "If you don't mind, then I'll be glad to." Slowly he stood, trotted toward the tent she had held open until he slipped inside, to which she followed. Dipping into her bag, Chise pulled from it a neatly bound sleeping bag, of which she unraveled

and curled into, eyeing Ruth before patting lightly at her side invitingly. "
We've got an early morning ahead of us; we're heading back to my village first thing. I wanted to report my findings to the Tsumikage, restock on some supplies, then we'll be right back here." She explained to Ruth as he began to tuck himself in beside her, his tail loosely coiling around them both as he moved to rest his head into his front paws. "That sounds fine by me. I'll go wherever you go, Chise." That thought brought an irresistible smile to her lips as her eyes slowly fluttered shut. She had been alone for so very long throughout her life, then she found the village and all those in it, but even then, she still felt.. detached, somehow. As if something was missing. But now, she shared a bond of blood with someone again. It wasn't technically related to the subject of family, but somehow the connection felt warm to her, and that was enough..

After they had slept through the night without issue, Chise and Ruth both woke to a new day. Her soreness was only exasperated now compared to the day prior; a sign that she was inevitably recovering from everything, but it was still a case of "it'll get worse before it gets better" and it certainly felt far worse.. But regardless, she took the time to stretch some, enjoying the soothing morning air before packing up what she had brought with her, though left the tent as it was for the inevitable return she'd make to this place. With one last glance around the area, Chise turned to Ruth to confirm he was with her before setting off toward the edge of the region, headed back toward the village capital, hopeful to meet up with some of her friends once again.
