The first time Negatos rinningan was awoke was when he encountered the leaf ninja who killed his parents. Then he left their house found his dog and friends was attacked again and his rinningan resurfaces.

And ? For all we know it was Madara/his goons from Leaf attacking him to awaken the rinnegan.

Don't bother to defend. I never meant that seriously even the first time. All I pointed out was that we have practically nothing to speculate on at the moment save a random claim by Madara.]

Only facts we have at the moment are:

1. Uzumaki clan has some remarkable sealing rechniques, chakra and nine tail containing abilities and ability of rinnegan.

2. Ability of rinnegan is extremly rare even among Uzumaki.

3. Nagato is only known Uzumaki who carried it. Since Kishi purposely made Madara comment and introduce Nagato as an Uzumaki so late in the Manga there should be a purpose to it.

4. Naruto already has too many powers so giving him rinnegan may look lame but Uchihas already had too many powers and got rinnegan(albiet stolen transplant) at the top of it. If not rinnegan Naruto will need something else to match up.
