Ultimate speed list​

Lately, there's been so much hype about who's the fastest Shinobi around. This got me intrigued so instead of arguing about it, I decided to make a detailed list of who I think are some of the fastest ninja ever.

1. Minato Namikaze
No doubt about it. With his Flying Thunder God technique, he is able to whip past his opponents faster than they can blink. Notable examples are Madara Uchiha and Raikage A. The latter even acknowledged that Minato was indeed speedy.

IMO, I think he was the fastest Shinobi of his time - yes, faster than the Raikage. Stare at this page if you disagree with me.

2. Raikage A
*sigh* Yeah, yeah, calm down. He's here. Raikage A is second to Minato (IMO), but that doesn't make him any less of a speed-freak! He's literally as fast as lightning, shown during his battle against Team Hawk and, more recently, in a flashback when he faces off against the Yellow Flash.

But now that Minato has passed, Raikage has taken the gold medal - and I don't think there's much arguement about that.

3. Madara Uchiha
Surprised? Yeah, thought so. He's fast. Maybe not first place in the 100 meters race, but his Space Time Migration technique is indeed one that can transport him quickly to anywhere he wants, even on a large-scale. What I mean is, when it comes to travelling long distances really quickly, Madara outmatches them all.

Here, when Minato flickers away via FTG, Madara arrives one moment later. To me, that's quite impressive.

Also, here, Madara is able to save Sasuke just before Onoki releases his Dust Release technique. In the anime, it seemed impossible to escape that technique, but Madara managed to pull Sasuke out without a scratch... well, almost, heh.

Here, Zetsu says he can't move at the speed of light, as compared to Madara. This is probably a joke, but if taken literally, it doesn't really surprise me.

Last thing I want to point out, is that Madara can become intangible at speeds unknown, as shown when he dodged (or stood through) the Raikage's attack here... and now that we know how fast the Raikage is, it certainly shows us Madara's calibre (or some of it, at least).

4. Naruto Uzumaki
Having doubts about this one, but hey, it's worth the take. More recently, since accomplishing Nine-Tails Mode, Naruto can move at lightning speeds, enough to surprise Tsunade and even the Raikage himself.

Also, I just wanna' add this page in for fun. Here, Naruto shows off his new-found speed (by nailing Kisame? nice) but more importantly, Killer Bee calls him "a Golden flash"... a reference to Minato.

What do you mean when you say speed? Like raw speed? using only your body's speed? Or do you mean who can arrive from A to B quickest?
Either way, you totally forgot about Gai sensei whom i think is right up there with minato and the raikage himself. As soon as he throws off his weights he would automaticly become so fast that you have a hard time keeping up with him. Sasuke could not follow his student, even with his sharingan,and we also saw lee being faster than gaara's defense, so imagine what gai can do(who btw stopped that fight within a blink of an eye).When he then open his gates, he arrives at a completely new level, as we witnessed against kisame. So, it would not surprise me if gai was`the fastest, when it comes too raw speed.

Maybe, but it's not like not teleporting his squad is proof of a lack of transportation, when you agree we know so little about the jutsu. There are plenty of potential reasons he didn't do it. I still think the context of when Minato makes his statement is a decent indicator after rereading the chapter. Who knows.

Well that guy up there, where you ask where Raikage is, has it Naruto / A as equal.

1) It says in the databook they are faster. The databook is good to get a rough estimation of one's ability in a certain area.
2)We've seen both of them to be faster.

I agree with much of this. However, I can't see Sasuke ahead of Lee in Shippuden. I don't think his drugs from Orochimaru were better than Lee's training.

Also, the Raikage said he's the fastest since Minato died, and Naruto hasn't beaten him yet in a contest of speed, so the champion shouldn't be dethroned in my opinion until Naruto beats him or outperforms him elsewhere.

If Tobirama's space-time jutsu is a tranportation jutsu that operates under a similar framework to FTG, he goes straight to 3 (general relativity agrees), but I agree with Anub and Xylon that we know nothing except that one sentence from Minato, despite its context.

I disagree that his death to an elite Kinkaku squad is an indicator his space-time jutsu sucked, as there are other valid non-mutually eclusive reasons for this that are totally exclusive.

I'm fine with your list other than the fact that Itachi is not on there. Itachi is faster than Sasuke. And I don't believe that Sasuke has undergone a massive boost of speed since then, if anything he is slower for Itachi taking away his ability to use his curse mark.

You don't have to go by the databook but I mean it is made by the creators of Naruto. It gives you an idea of how well a character has mastered a certain area, ie: genjutsu, taijutsu, speed, strength, stamina. And the databook has Itachi as being faster and even Sasuke commented on how fast Itachi was in their battle. You can't discard that.
Also just a question but why do you believe that getting EMS will increase Sasuke's speed?

There is no way he can beat Raikage or Naruto in a race, the gates only allow the user to use their own maximum potential. The raikage and Naruto aren't using only their body's chakra, they are taking something else (Lightning & Kyuubi chakra) to raise their potential for strength and speed. Also I'm pretty sure that A knows about the eight gates as he is a kage after all and has some knowledge of what it allows people to do. Most Jounin can open at least two gates according to Kakashi, not that they do but that they can, so I assume a kage knows more or at least knows of the technique. He wouldn't claim to be the fastest if he knows that people can be faster than him with the gates.

Also I'm not sure how their speed compares but Sage mode vastly increases speed and strength without all of the drawbacks of the gates. I have no evidence for it but I think that Sage mode Naruto and Jiraiya are faster than Guy and Lee.

And also you are forgetting about Bee, he is a jinchurikki just like Naruto and can vastly increase his speed as well.

Personally I believe most people have Guy right where he belongs; after Minato, madara, A, Naruto, Bee, and Jiraiya.

Well, there you go. Not much of a list, but it's a start. If you think you know an Shinobi that deserve to be here, then please, by all means, join in. This thread was actually supposed to be a group effort. I just started it, that's all. Well in terms of getting places Madara/Tobi is the fastest because he can just teleport. On his feet yeah he isn't really equivalent to those others. Also you skipped over like 5 people and put Sasuke right up there behind Naruto.

Guy, Lee, Jiraiya, Bee, Itachi, and probably Mifune are all faster than Sasuke. Well I know all of those except Mifune are, I'm not too sure about him.

EMS Sasuke will be faster that's for sure. He needs to compete with fox Naruto and let's face it...how can MS Sasuke (the one we saw against Danzo) stand any change of defeating fox Naruto? I could go into details explaining how every time he's got a sharingan upgrade, his speed and strength increased as well. Also He was built as being constantly one step ahead of Naruto because it was his power that pushed Naruto to go further and train more. It just won't work if Naruto can easily beat Sasuke...and without the speed, Sasuke is pretty much humiliated right now.

That's fine with me, Itachi is fast. Recall when his hand signs were too fast for Kakashi's Sharingan pre-time-skip? I was mainly reordering Anub's top 9.

Sure, I'm will to adjust were he fits in my ranking based on how many gates he opens, but I have him where I do with no gates open, same with Lee. What you ask for is not unreasonable, but it needs to be clear.

Do you remember where you got the bold part from? I don't remember it at all. I do remember Kakashi saying most jounin knowing two different elemental affinities, so I'm wondering if I forgot him saying that about the gates or if you're mixing them up.

well lets say guy takes it up to a 7th or 6th gate in a duel with Kakashi (which he would if they are true rivals) and lets assume he was faster than kakashi if he was much faster than Kakashi would have lost every time

now lets compare Kakashi and Itachi when Itachi could have killed him even with kakashi being as/more serious than against Zabuza or even Oro and with back up (granted Itachi had Kisame but still later Gai came) and Itachi could have killed him with pure speed without even trying (he pulled out shuriken and did handsigns and Kakashi barely noticed the shuriken while he didnt notice the hand signs at all)

my assumption from this is Itachi has more reason to be on the list than Gai
