I believe that's why Sasuke was unable to get MS despite watching his parents die in a genjutsu. The chakra was still underdeveloped, as he was just a child. Or, if he was older, at least 14, he would've awakened MS.

Maybe it was just the constant tension during the war that awakened the Sharingan but Madara's father, as well as Hashirama's father, made it seem like the Sharingan comes naturally, even in the most unexpected times. Yes it is triggered by emotions but the Sharingan is just after all the manifestation on the eye of the special chakra from an Uchiha cerebrum lol. If you got brain and you're genetically an Uchiha, you definitely have Sharingan powers. Now does every Uchiha awaken it? Yes and No. Yes in a sense that is innately possessed as a genetic trait and, No, in respect to its actual manifestation and optimal usage. Then again, maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

It's ridiculous how prodigious they are considering how peaceful their generation is. They need to bring back the ninja fights, majority taijutsu with a few weapons here and there and 5% jutsu's.

It makes perfect sense and you can't just say the manga is wrong :lol All of y'all assuming every Uchiha is an Obito or an Itachi when that's far from the case. Most shinobi are mentally trained to experience tragic events.

You can't just magically awaken Sharingan because your friend died, Itachi himself stated many Uchiha failed to get new power ups after killing their own relatives. Very special chakra is required for dojutsu and not every Uchiha has it.

Uchiha were known primarily for their chakra, the dojutsu was more like a bonus very few are capable of awakening. Even in the Hashi flashbacks we saw adult Uchiha with 1T and 2T Sharingan, it was rare for someone to have the full powered 3T since most of them were mentally hardened from constant warfare.
