As for Da Best Ever: you think and most of the world thinks that Tupac was the best. He had a jump start and was killed that made him even more popular. As people who really know rap know that Tupac wasn't the "best". Like NarutoB pointed out, people have made popular opinion.

Death did boost him even further but what you fail to realize is why his death boosted him so much. The answer is, he was so great while alive that know one could believe he was dead nor did anyone want to believe he was dead. If Nas died he wouldn't get anywhere near the same reaction or love as Pac, he is a great don't get me wrong but if he died we all know that shit would be swept under the rugs in like a week. Even Michael Jackson the Pop King one of the most famous people ever doesn't get as much love as Pac, nor does B.I.G.

Tupac was like a myth, the fact that he was so great while made him receive this praise while dead becaus eno one wanted to believe he was dead, no wanted him to die. When you can make people think you are still alive despite logic and facts saying otherwise then you have reached a level beyond the normal, Nas nor kendrick lamar can reach that level. If they died right now, that shit would be forgotten in like a week. Pac lives on after death, he has been immortalized.
