(Konbi Henge) - Combination Transformation
Performing this in battle
The user and his partner/summon would form a single handseal, transforming into one being. I honestly don't know what else to say, since it's not really fit for battle.
Using it offensively and how to defend
As you said, this technique isn't fit for really big fights and performing it out in the open would certainly give the transformation away, thus making it pointless and a waste of chakra. Although, if you erupt a Doton wall in front of you, then use the technique, you could keep it a secret. Here's why I think it could be useful; after you've summoned the wall, you can quickly transform you, and your summon to take the appearance of yourself. Now, after this, you and your summon will be one, which may seem like nothing now, but it possess the element of surprise. You can then advance towards your opponent, engaging them in CQC. When you feel as if the time is right, you and your summon'll split up, causing confusion for that brief moment, so during that time, you capitalize on that and give a fatal blow. Now as for defending, it they use it the way I stated above, you can easily use an omni-directional attack to land a hit on them both, making their summon go away; if it's a partner you can easily fatally wound both.
My Opinion
The use I stated above is risky; so I most likely wouldn't pull it off, therefore the technique battlewise is relatively useless, I say a zero to be honest.
Performing
Looking at the clone to his left, Carl walks over it and makes the Tiger seal, gripping his shoulder. As they begin to transform, he manipulates his chakra, attempting to take the form of a fairly large wolf. Coming off as a success, Carl releases the technique and dusts himself off, "Being on all fours doesn't really suit me much"
(Shinra Banshō Dōka No Jutsu) - Assimilate All Creation Technique
Performing this in battle
By grabbing a rock of some sort from your surroundings, you're able to take on the properties of it, hardening your a certain part of your body temporarily. So, in a case where your enemy makes hard earth constructs, you can touch them, taking on it's hardness. You can also make your body as loose as gravel, making it way easier to take attacks.
Using it offensively and how to defend
The technique itself is pretty simple, you grab a rock, take it's properties, and apply it to a point in your body. For close range purposes, the point you harden could be your first or legs, so when you go in for the punch, it's more effective. Now as for defending, you can simply harden your body when your tries to hit you, nullifying their attack. Now as for if your opponent uses it, you can then use Raiton, being that's Earth's natural weakness, to pierce them.
My Opinion
Not bad, but i'd make sure that when I use it, there's no Raiton jutsu being used, so mainly for close range fights, or possibly Kenjutsu ones.
Walking over, Carl picks up a small rock. As he forms a handseal, he absorbs the properties of the rock and manipulates the chakra into his left hand. He then takes his left hand and gently plops the rock there, afterwards he crushes it with sheer force.
