I don't care what you did with Adachi. I respect Adachi but I want to give you everything I know and to make sure that you completely understand everything there is about genjutsu. Reason why we will do everything completely from scratch to make a strong foundation. Finally the time came for me to have some fun. First just to make sure that you remember ... so basically I got the basics with Adachi, which you need you can check rightYou must be registered for see links.

Genjutsu, you can call it Illusionary Arts too, doesn't produce a real effect, it produces an illusionary effect. Basically Genjutsu are techniques that are employed in the same fashion as Ninjutsu, requiring chakra and hand seals, however the primary difference between the two is that the effects of Genjutsu are illusory, instead of attacking the victim's body like Taijutsu or Ninjutsu. If I remember right, there are two types of Genjutsu. The first one is the so called "none chakra fueled one", because it produces illusions to our senses which have very very little use in our RP and can be easily get countered through logic. The other one is the "chakra fueled one" with which you can most likely produce a decent Genjutsu technique.
How Genjutsu works? Pretty easy. Genjutsu works by using your own unique chakra to disturb the chakra flow of your opponent. Specially you use it in the brain of your opponent to alter his senses, by doing so, you can make him perceive any thing his senses are capable of: pain, heat, cold or even itching. You can basically make the opponent see, taste, smell, feel or hear anything you want. However, because this is done by using your chakra to manipulate his chakra flow, you need to be close, have direct eye contact or even physical contact with your opponent. You can say that the main limitation of Genjutsu is the range. The further you are away from your opponent, the harder it will become to induce the fluctuation on his chakra flow to produce the powerful and unique Genjutsu that you want. As I have already said a Genjutsu is a technique that manipulates your senses and because of that you need to have a strong awareness of reality in order to understand when something is out of place. Genjutsu attacks usually require a lot of skill, and if performed incorrectly will just not work.
Genjutsu is most often used by ninja with very precise chakra control and very high intelligence, because it is not that easy to use Genjutsu the right way and from what I have noticed in our RP is, that the most people don't use it because they don't really know how to use it. I will try to explain in a bit more depth how I think Genjutsu works. Well, in the NW every one has a balanced chakra flow, that is balanced combination of both physical and spiritual energy. That exact chakra is always calm and balanced. To produce a Genjutsu, you need to use your chakra to disturb that balance in a controlled way. You basically need to produce an illusion by scrambling the users link between his spirit and body, which is also the link between his mind and his senses.
How to counter/dispel a Genjutsu? Well this is probably one of the most important things to know about Genjutsu. There are several options, for example:
• The ninja needs to stop the flow of chakra in their body, and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra. Likewise by altering your chakra flow through the introduction of foreign chakra you can get out of Genjutsu too. This can also be done by an unaffected ninja by applying a sudden surge of chakra into the affected person or even, for example, entering sage mode.
• Another option is accessible only to Sharingan wielders. Members of the Uchiha clan can break or see through Genjutsu using their Sharingan. (For example, breaking Tsukuyomi is possible with an ordinary Sharingan, but requires a lot of skill.)
• One more option is through intense pain not caused by the Genjutsu and utilizing the resulting pain to bring their senses back in order. You have to be careful how you 'hurt' yourself because for every rank of Genjutsu there is a ... how to say it, a thing that you need to do to escape the Genjutsu, for example: for C-Rank Genjutsu, bitting a chunk of your cheek will do the job.
• There was one more thing with which you can dispel Genjutsu, I think it was called Kai (Release) or something like that. I never really got a good explanation for that though. Can you explain it to me?
I think that I covered most of the things about Genjutsu, if you have anything to add please do it.
Note: Genjutsu is my favorite thing, because for me Genjutsu it's like writing stories, you can do anything with a paper and a pencil and of course it's all about your imagination and how skilled you are. So yeah ... expect a lot delightful detail from me and a lot questions and stuff. Therefore I request you to make my training extremely hard. :3
I don't care what you did with Adachi. I respect Adachi but I want to give you everything I know and to make sure that you completely understand everything there is about genjutsu. Reason why we will do everything completely from scratch to make a strong foundation.
Interesting idea, but not completely true. There's much more to the types of the genjutsu and every genjutsu is chakra fueled. It's basically Yin chakra or spiritual if you want. Genjutsu is essentially a disturbance of the opponents chakra flow. This is the main reason why and how illusions are induced. If you don't use your chakra for this then I don't really see how you are even able to do it. You said it even yourself.
Yes that is very true. People look at genjutsu and genjutsu users like a plague. They dismiss it and they hate it because they believe it's OP and unreasonable but the key factor here is that they don't know how to handle it. Being able to recognize and release genutsu is almost if not completely of the same value as knowing how to effectively use it. Genjutsu is, as you say, a very delicate field and it's very important to understand the whole concept and to be able to "see in the future" and anticipate your opponents reactions in order to plan effectively and stack your moves.
You explained Kai yourself. It's in the first paragraph of how to release genjutsu, lol. It's a surge of chakra that restores the balance to your chakra system. That's the 3 of them. A chakra surge on your own, a chakra surge from someone else and release through pain. The sharingan is exclusive to sharingan users and it's a completely different field. Sharingan and sharingan genjutsu have no place in this training thread so leave that be.
Now, with everything you said there's still much more I could say about genjutsu and a few more important concepts are genjutsu layering and genjutsu detection. I could write them up myself but since I have to be efficient with my time, I'll link you this thread where you can find all the additional information about genjutsu. Once you're done feel free to ask any questions so we can continue with the training.

Good then. We both mentioned types of genjutsu so let's round up those, quickly. There are paralysis/restriction, trickery, concealing and "other" genjutsu. What could you tell me about these? Anything you find relevant and I'll add if you're missing something.I good know that, I just wanted to give you full information of my genjutsu 'status' Lol
Yeah I read the Genjutsu thread twice to make sure that I understand everything, it indeed helped to understand some other details about Genjutsu. For now I have none questions. Whenever you are ready we can continue.
I figured you'd stumble here.Well basically from what I know there are different kinds of genjutsu, for example:
• Paralysis/Restriction
These illusions are where your opponent sees or feels something which prevents him from moving in reality, in other words it paralysis your opponent. These genjutsu types are for example: you manipulate the prospective of the target to your own advantage. Basically, everything what happens in the illusion doesn't relate to reality because it's just an illusion in the opponent's/enemy's mind.
• Trickery
The trickery types of genjutsu mostly manipulate the opponent seeing and are being experienced in many ways, while at the same time they keep the opponent unsure of your current location. They mostly affect the opponent's vision and change the image he sees.
• Concealing
Too bad but I don't know a lot about them. Concealing in other words means hiding, covering something ... so I can expect that these types of genjutsu are there for to cover you or something?
• Other
Well not sure about these, but can we say that under the category of other are the sound genjutsu, probably the most powerful ones. The sound type make your opponent either hear or mask sounds of incoming objects and such, however these are rare because most of them, as I have already said, requires sound release.
Ehh about these types, I won't lie, I had a bit a lack of knowledge here, but I hope that I covered most of it. If you have anything to add sensei be sure to do it!
( Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu ) - Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings TechniqueI will make sure to remember everything you just told me.
I understand, perfect way for me to learn!
I want you to give me a reasonable description why you think the opponent is using this genjutsu on you. That's the whole point. U_UThis particular Genjutsu-technique falls under the Trickery-type of genjutsu techniques, because what it does is that it basically manipulates the prospectives of the target, which you can of course use as your advantage.
Now about the countering part. Well the most basic thing to do is chipping my finger, like one does as he bites to draw blood. Of course I have to give a reasonable description why I think the opponent is using genjutsu on me and after that I will chip my finger.
Very good. It's important that relying onto other senses becomes second nature to you. You always have to be aware of all your senses in order to actively perceive the events around you.I thought so Lol
Well this particular genjutsu technique has many applications, for example, if the opponent creates a mist I would most likely notice that the air does not feel damp as it would if the mist was actually real. If my opponent changes the landscape/battlefield acutely I would use my own memory to determine that it's a genjutsu, of course it has to be something obviously, a drastically change in the battlefield, that it's a genjutsu. If not then I would need to use one of my most important sense, listening so I can hear the sound of the earth shifting when my opponent 'changes' the battlefield. If I could not hear these things then it is obviously a genjutsu. As for the smoke, well I wouldn't be able to take in the smell of the actual smoke. Basically what I have to do is to use my own sense as an 'advantage' for myself. Since it only manipulates the terrain and it is low ranked technique, it is pretty easy to give a reasonable description, right?
I thought we covered this part already. Trickery only makes him see what is not there. Concealing techniques are used to mask your location and intentions.Wise words sir.
This particular genjutsu-technique once again falls under the Trickery-type of genjutsu techniques, because it basically manipulates the opponent sight in a multitude of ways while keeping the opponent unsure of the user's current location.
I hate repeating myself but as I've already said, to disperse the genjutsu, you would have to chip your finger, like one does as he bites to draw blood. Now about the reasonable description. This one is tricky because it only effects your sight and you can't explain it with other sense. I would say that I won't even need a sense for this one. I could counter this technique with my experience and basic logic, because it's impossible for someone to just vanish from the battlefield like this. I'd easily presume that it's a genjutsu.
Alright. My mistake, won't happen again.I thought we covered this part already. Trickery only makes him see what is not there. Concealing techniques are used to mask your location and intentions.
How not? That's exactly what you aim for. Because you see the petals but don't hear them swirling that should be your main clue to deduce it's a genjutsu. Just because you actually know it's impossible it doesn't make it actually impossible. There are techniques that make people vanish and using something so vague as battle experience isn't really reliable.
( Genjutsu: Kasumi ) - Illusion Technique: ServantAlright. My mistake, won't happen again.
( Genjutsu: Kasumi ) - Illusion Technique: Servant
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user does one handseal and throws a paper bomb at the enemy. The enemy, trapped in a genjutsu will see a clone of the user advancing upon him. As the paper bomb reaches the enemy, it explodes
This is a very cool technique. Basically you throw a paper bomb in reality and you perform the handseal to trap the opponent within a genjutsu where he will see a clone of you running towards him, preparing to strike. In reality the paper bomb is flying towards the opponent and one its close it explodes, harming the opponent. Since it's just a paper bomb the damage isn't really bad but if you aim for the right spot you can achieve a greater effect. For example making it explode next to the opponents ear. The explosion will damage his inner ear and make him lose balance and stumble. He will be disoriented and confused, which coupled with the confusion from the genjutsu gives you enough time to prepare and execute other techniques.
That's actually... correct!
Because of that bomb thingy I would say, that this particular genjutsu-technique falls under the Other-type of genjutsu techniques.
Since I aim for using my senses a lot to describe the dispelling of the genjutsu, I would say that seeing a clone running towards me is a pretty tricky thingy and I have to watch for/consider a lot of things. For example: if the clone is making an sound with every step that he takes, I will try once again to use my hearing-sense; does his clothing or even his hair wave when he is running towards me; does the grass move around his foot-steps while he is running towards his target, in the situation me. By looking at such a simple/small things I might be able to give a good explanation about why I consider it as a genjutsu.
How I would release myself, I guess chipping your finger, like one does as he bites to draw blood, will work once again. Meh, I always say this. Forget about that finger, if I keep chipping my fingers like that for the whole d-ranks ... I will be left with no blood Lol Anyway I will try something new, to dispel the genjutsu I might use a simple full body surge or even a simple gash on my leg would get me out of it too.
That's actually... correct! It falls into other because it uses "other" objects within the illusion. It doesn't fiddle with your own body and the opponents perception of it, nor the battlefield or any of its properties. Instead it changes how the opponents sees other objects.
Yeah, that's excellent observation. The key is in small details and you always have to analyze the genjutsu first and see if it's visual or auditory or any else. What do you see? What do you hear? Do you hear anything out of ordinary? If so, what is it? Does it match what you see? These questions should be always running through your head. I have the feeling that you're getting the grip of this and I'm glad you do. You don't really need to tell me how to release from the technique anymore if you're going to chip your finger every time. xD If you think that chipping the finger or stabbing yourself won't work then tell me what you think you could use. You'll know when the time comes.
