I believe Tobi is Izuna because he say's to Konan that the Rinnegan in Nagato's eye sockets were his to begin with. When Madara is reborn, he say's, "That brat finally managed to grow, huh?" And then, later on in the battle, he activates the Rinnegan which he unlocked after battling Hashirama Senju.

Madara's eyes are implants. They belong to Izuna. Those who say that Izuna died, there is such stuff as revival in Naruto.

Izuna fits: If we accept the likelihood that Nagato’s eyes used to be Uchiha Madara’s (who is the only person we know which awakened the Rinnegan), then we also accept that Nagato’s eyes originally belonged to Uchiha Izuna’s, as we know that Uchiha Madara’s EMS eyes originally belonged to Izuna. Izuna fits this perfectly; no one else has a better credible reason to claim Nagato’s eyes “were his to begin with” than Izuna.

In response to your #7: In the fight with Konan we clearly see his face and it doesn't look Edo or Zetsu in any way. Care to explain how he has a perfectly normal face? Did he never die?

his arms are made of Zetsu but they still look like normal hands right? same thing goes on his face

I'm going with Tobi being Izuna. Itachi and Sasuke are not the only Uchiha brothers in this Manga. Both seem to have similar ideals. As someone mentioned before, Nagato's eyes were originally Izuna's. Tobi was shocked to see Madara in the coffin Kabuto pulled out. Maybe because Kabuto found his brother's body? Tobi said he was a shell of his former self. Why, because he didn't have his eyes that he now has from Nagato?

Tobi is just tobi and no one else. Izuna, Shisui bla bla bla, they are dead!
For all we know he's just a rogue ninja with a huge grudge against the world.
We can keep on speculating, but untill kishi bring up his backround info he is just plain TOBI.
His extensive knowledge and relationship with edo-Madara is yet to be revealed.
But don't come up with b/s that tobi is Izuna, Shisui, or even Obito, even if some hepotheses seem to be logic, they are not proven facts thus false...

Tobi can't be Shisui nor Obito. Remember when Tobi fought Minato, he was cleary older than Minato. And you can see a younger Kakashi and Gai, which means, because Itachi is far younger than Kakashi, it can't be Shisui either. This is only a theory though, i just tried to gather some facts.

You just called me a troll when you have no proof that Itachi did not kill Shisui.
This is because:
1) In order to obtain the MS, you need to kill your best friend. The manga clearly states Itachi and Shisui were best friends. WHO else could Itachi kill to obtain the MS? You read the manga and stop raging, fanboy.

EDIT: Btw I re-read that manga page you posted. It clearly says after giving his eye to Itachi, Shisui died silently. It also says, Itachi helped him to accomplish that. Thanks for proving me correct.

acctually in the animated episodes tobi (when he tells sasuke the truth about itachi) says to sasuke that the fight between him and itachi was one to awaken his MS/implanted amateratsu he states that it just has to be the death of someone close to you so it open to discussion/ holes but i dont think its supposed to be clear cut, writers like us to use our own imagenations to fill in the gaps sometimes as they dont always answere every question that is posed in their storys. so by this theory itachi could have done it by killing shisui.. his dad... his mum or anyone close to him, itachi used words/ actions to decive people so why when he says to sauske you must kill your closest friend do you assume he is telling the truth? also read someone asking about how shisui could of gotten his MS... again just my idea but shisui could of just killed/lost some one close to him... also saw some one asking about kakashi MS. perhaps when he wasnt able to protect Rin, loses her and he achieved his MS.

for me tobi is also madara... maybe b4 madara died he realized how he will change his heart towards the leaf and his clan..maybe he ask himself "WHO I AM?"... then he split into 2 person (which is tobi and madara in dragon balls its like kame and picollo...^_^) and they fight/kill each other because maybe they oppose each other... maybe tobi wants to continue destruction and power while madara wants peace and reconciliation with his clan and leaf....

Im thinking maybe madara have a purpose... to meet and fight tobi again?!.... and if madara loosed to tobi it means destruction and power over ruled.... this is my theory.... let us wait and see who really is tobi....^_^ and how madara died.... =)

Like this theory alot, tobi always sticks to the story that hes a remnant of the uchiha clan who bears hatred toward uchiha/village. Also being madara's bro he was about back in the day and was also reveard as a great shinobi, the second strongest amongst the uchiha. madara also having great knowledge and power coudld have shared alot of knowledge with his bro/ techinques which could help explain how tobi knows about almost everything to do with anything but on the other hand madara having taken or perhaps even given Izuna eyes could either hate or deeply respect his older bro. he could have been working to bring him back to life or working to surpass him (works either way really when kabuto uses E.T. and tobi is shocked). also saw a post with someone saying tobi is orochimaru... if your up to date with the manga then i guess its how you veiw it but i personally that is highly unlikely, as orochimaru and tobi have been operating whilest both alive.. also in the animated episodes we see tobi's inner thoughts being all like... daaymmmm orochimaru you nosey bastard... well not exactly like that but you get the jist

I wouldn't say 100%. I would say most likely. Tobi STILL could be someone else. Considering all the possibilities, it could be a surprise.
