That is the whole point, that increases the impact of the revelation, it makes you question what could happen that would make him like this.

Fought Hashirama -> Got Rinnegan -> Took some Hashirama DNA -> Saw that time is passing by and he is getting close to his end -> Made Zetsu -> Used RinneTensei to bring back Izuna -> Entrusted them the plan -> Died safely knowing he will be later revived.

Why Izuna to chose Tobi and how would he know Obito? Simple. Zetsu info on everything gathered.
If you look when Itachi seeks his help, he doesn't recommend himself as Tobi. Later on he would use the idea for creating a bigger pshycological impact on his rivals.

If he wasn't Obito, there's not a single reason to show flashbacks of him. There are indeed many questions unanswered, but we can only speculate for now and just hope that Kishi has thought this out well.

Flashbacks are always shown before someones death..........get where im going with this? that obito is really still dead.

By the way I support this thread, but Tobi has too much of Madara's personality and demeanor to not be him.

Why people cant accept Tobi is Obito

We are not creating these theories because we don't want it to be Obito, we just want it to make sense. Therefore, we are making predictions and theories to make up for the fact Tobi can be Obito. I'm going to address the plotholes and the answers to these plotholes that have been given on the forum.

1. I'm sorry but nobody can justify Obito's change of heart with his views towards the Ninja world. When he died he seemed completely at piece with his sacrifice. He didn't like the idea of a Shinobi who abandoned their teammates but kakashi didn't abandon Obito. Obviously Obito survived the boulder because of his age, but nobody knows how. I find it hard to believe that Obito activated his Mangekyou at that time. I believe somebody must have helped Obito escape, but i don't know who. Some people suggest Madara and Izuna but how would they still be alive in the first place. Zetsu seems the most practical but there is a plothole for this theory as well.

2. If Zetsu is the one who helped Obito escape the boulder, did Zetsu also repair Obito by giving him Harishima's cells. Everyone has noticed the white goo pouring from Obito's arm. The plothole is that if this is the case, and Tobi did reconstruct Obito in some way why did Tobi do his 'good boy' disguise around Zetsu. The first ever appearnce of Tobi was his good boy persona when he collected Sasori's ring. He was only with Zetsu at the time so why put on the disguise if Zetsu already knows who you are.

3. Tobi has the most knowledge of anyone in the manga. He knows about the history of the SO6P, the uchiha, the senhu, Madara, izuna and Itachi. Obito was not alive at this time so poeple are saying Madara must have passed on the information to Obito, but Madara would not be alive at the time.

4. People saying there are two Tobi's because the time lines don't fit and there are inconsistencies with Tobi's character. Occarding to Obito himself, his first attack against the leaf after his defeat against the first was at Naruto's birth. The Tobi that fought Minato has to be Obito because he has has hair and also has the kamaui technique. However after this, Tobi also said he helped Itachi during the uchiha clan massacre and controlled the Yagura. However, in the flash back Tobi looks allot like Madara rather than Obito. My question is if it is Madara how is he alive and why is he wearing a mask. This Two Tobi theories are very reliant on hair, but think what other character has changed their hair in the series, nobody has! This Whole two Tobi theory can be dismissed though because when Kisame saw long haired and short haired Tobi he thought they were the same person so maybe Obito just grew his hair lol. In relation to tobi's eyes people wont to know why he had two sharingans when he faced Konan and how he activated his sharingan? Well we know Tobi has a lab of sharingans but we dont know how, I though Danzo had all the sharingans from the massacre. I also guess we will find out how Obito gained his magekyou in the next few chapters.

5. Obito could not have given Nagato the rinnegan because he should have even been alive. This further supports Madara as the second Tobi, but again how would Madara have still been alive.

6. Just because tobi revealed himself to be Obito people seem to forget some vital information in the previous chapter. In 598 kakashi asked where Tobi got his sharingan. Tobi said he obtained it at the kannabi bridge. If it was Obito why would he say he obtained it? It would be his own sharingan! This supports the two Tobi theory and supports somebody controlling Obito's body.

What do you guys think of these plotholes? do you think Kishi will be able to adress them all? I think the mystery of Madara will help explain the mystery of Obito, somehow lol.

I never made fun of Tobi = Obito fans or theorists. But I never even read one because I thought it was absolute bull.

But after 598 I voted for Tobi = Obito in every poll U_U

Umm, if Obito is dead, then what's the point to tell us his story right now? Even if it was just to fool us, those flashbacks don't fit the story at all.

Itachi's only lies were the ones meant to protect Sasuke from the truth about the Uchiha betrayal. He didnt want his younger brother to lose respect for the clan. Everything concerning Madara, the MS and the EMS is not a lie. You should see that.

When he said liar I think he could've been referring to itachi saying tobi is a liar but then again it could go either.
