Obito was crushed under a rock, right? But then what are these markings on tobis face that looks like kamui? Well heres my theory about him surviving:

Obito saw kakashi and rin leaving and he thought that he is never going to surpass kakashi and he is never going to fall in love with rin. so:

Theory one:
Obito unlocked MS and kamui'd all the rocks there trying to survive
Thats how he got those marking on his face
He left the rocks and went to the neares village(probably kumogakure or iwagakure)
He got healed then he done a lot of research about madara
And final point: he made his mask ^^

Theory two:
Obito remembered and analysed how minatos s/t jutsu(ftg or the other one) worked and then when a rock crushed him, he got to use his s/t migration to escaped the rocks
then he was found by oro all wounded
oro healed him with zetsus dna and thats how he got all the withe stuff from his right hand
oro talked about all the stories about madara to obito
obito was brainwhashed by oro and then he started beliveing that he is madara
He was as tall as minato because of oro expermenting with obito and zetsu
He got the marking next to his sharingan because he used his s/t migration for about a million times

He kept using Kamui till the rock dissapeared. His eye was crushed but was still in good condition for using Kamui. After time, he gained enough chakra to send the last rock to the dimension.

I think that the 2 frames that focus on the flying thunder god kunai are important and there for a reason. We never see Kakashi retain that blade, and i am tempted to think that it may have played a role in Obito's survival.... but we will just have to wait and see :/

And we don't need proof anymore, Tobi is Obito. We don't need an explanation, Kishi has been making it quite clear who Tobi is from the start.

He is still Madara, who has taken over Obito's body because his own was too heavily wounded thanks to Shodai. After all the soul splitting we have seen in this anime, Shiki Fuujin, Rinnegan soul exctracting Jutsus, do you really think Uchiha Madara who had unlocked his Rinnegan would let himself die so easily? He obviously split a part of his soul with the Rinnegan, poured it into Obito's dead body and reconstructed him with Zetsu's cells.

Now this is the second time in a row I have been right about Tobi, the first was when no one believed me, after all the effort I put into it, that Tobi had MS.

Go through my threads if you dont believe me....and now stop confusing yourselves by overthinking so much, Obito has been dead for a long time. Madara/Tobi needed an Uchiha body for his plans, and as he told Kakashi, he got that body and that eye after the battle of Kannabi bridge.

Whether you want to believe me or not is up to you, but I am pretty sure that next week Ill be making another "i told ya so" thread after Madara explains it.
