For the last few years, and up to a week ago, I had pretty bad acne. It looked about like this, if not slightly better:
I was self conscious about it, and it took an emotional toll on me. As a result of this, I would always run my hands over my face, searching for new pimples. Also (as disgusting as it sounds), I would pick at and pop them, under the delusion that I was somehow helping. However, for some reason I decided to completely stop touching my face about a week ago. Along with that, I made sure to take a daily shower and run a warm washcloth over my face in the morning and at night. I also stopped using soap and acne medication on my face.
Today, a week since I started doing this, it is not an exaggeration to say my acne is 90% gone. It's incredible how fast it improved. I'm telling you all this in case there's someone else with acne who touches their face and picks at it. For some reason, when people would tell me not to do this, I would pass it off as something that people like to say but doesn't really matter. I couldn't have been more wrong.
If you had acne that is now gone, or have acne that's gotten significantly better, what methods did you use to improve it?
