but madara did say he got wounded by hashirama when he told obito he planted hashirama cells in his wound. nonetheless great thread i know he had to use genjutsu at the end.

Thanks, the Genjutsu involved was a means for Madara to escape certain death, the wound was very much real, so I suspect the Genjutsu involved activated at the moment Madara was stabbed.

but imo
1st.) Madara activated his EMS right after getting off kurama because he was saving it when he no longer have a badass beast to ride n fight hashi.(to counter hashi's sage mode)
2.)The moon summarizes the battle madara and hashi did under the gaze of the moon.
3.)Madara's EMS was gone after the moon pic because he only have little chakra left. Hashi's mark was also gone meaning both of them were really exhausted.
4.)About the sword maybe it was just covered by madara's body since the first pic was on top view while the other is on side view.
5.)what really bothers me is the fact that madara is still floating on the water even though he is dying and have no chakra left.
6.)Hashirama looked up and provided the look of "its finally over" like when u play soccer and it starts to rain and after that tiring game u would look up and feel the rain on ur face and say to urselves what a tiring day.
7.) the diamond thing shows us that hasirama just recently noticed he has no chakra left. As you can see in the pic hashi's feet went in the water suggesting he has no chakra left to even stand on water.
8.) i like to see madara looking up on the sky and gazing to the moon and reaching to it and wishing it was his eyes (that would give birth to madara's plan to use the moon as his eyes) then because of that new resolve his (great emotion-affects uchihas) eyes turned from EMS to Rinnegan ... kishi didnt say uchihas improve their eyes only when he sees a comrade die infront of him but because of great emotion an uchiha would feel after seeing his friend die. and with this he activated his rinnegan while hashi isnt around anymore and barely escaped death

It couldn't have been izanagi. Madara gave his TWO working eyes to nagato. If he had used izanagi he would only have one eye. It wasn't shock from the land because hashirama was simply not looking at the land when the exclamation point was drawn. It had to have been a strong tsukuyomi to where hashi didn't notice and that the landscape was exact. Much like itachi and deidara.good job derp!
Nice thread but i dont think its a hard mistery thats needs to be filled up with theories , it will probably be revealed in the next few chapters how Madara tricked him or just used a clone of some sort .. or maybe even Izanagi , he did said he collected cells from that fight so he might have used em right away .. but we will see i guess
PS:if it was a genjutsu why didnt Madara used that against him ? Why fake his death , he could have just killed him there at that second.
