Gotta agree with OP here.
DBZ and Obito would've been one thing, but DBZ and Rikoubito are a completely nother thing.

He's a god. I don't believe Goku can touch him. And even if he does, that shield thing will burn it all off.

Being a god doesn't mean you can't have your ass kicked.

But what is a defining characteristic of a god? What seperates them from similarly powerful mortals?

Take a look up on the character kami tenchi ....he's a true god, a true omnipotent who can destroy multi universes by thoughts alone ....and creates universes on a daily basis, and isn't even a physical being, hes a concept and isn't capable of being harmed or destroyed in any possible givin way and is omniscient .....means he knows everything there is to know.

And is omnipresent meaning he's everywhere in the universe any time.

Idiot. Goku fights Gods and he has achieved God status.

Goku has fought and beaten a Intangible being that was stated to be invincible.

P3IN, Obito isn't a god in the sense of Omnipotence. I'm comparing him to the Gods of Norse/Greek mythology. Not invincible but limited in the ways of death/defeat.
