[Theory] The SUN is the Second Juubi

So where does Susanoo come into all this. Does Susanoo symbolise equilibrium between the sun (Amaterasu) and the moon (Tsukuyomi)?
Perhaps Susanoo is the warrior god who has attained equilibrium between sun-good and moon-evil ?

I really like the fact that it was stated that the Sage only had "half" the Juubi. We don't know what happened with other half maybe it is the sun, however I think that the "body" of the juubi, aka the moon, was the other half. If the bijuu are the result of the sage's half, then it's possible to say that his brother recieved the physical energy of the Juubi, it's body. Idk, but hopefully we find out.

Tolkien's Middle Earth had a world prior to the sun and the elves lived in it. How is it not possible for the Narutoverse to be imagined similarly?

yes that is very well observed, also i believe susanoo is another variation of yin yang release "similar to izanagi which is a variation of coat" to further add to that, ms has 1 eye for genjutsu "tsukoymi --> yin" and 1 eye for ninjutsu "amaterasu --> yang" therefore it makes sense to think susanoo = yin yang release, what do you think

I'll give you a better answer: SO6P Was the body of both yin and yang and thereby was able to bring peace to the world, However it was temporary and imperfect which brings me to my point:

Madara said the only way to true peace by having the yin and the yang to work together, in this case I can see why kishi had to make naruto the younger son "yang", and by working together with his opposite "sasuke i believe - yin" they will bring true peace to the world.

Actually what you are saying is correct but I am talking about the relation between Susanoo, Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi as they are related and not the Naruto Sasuke peace combo.

The Moon and Sun is based off of Mythology. In mythology, the moon shines all by itself without needing a sun.

I quite like this theory and though it's doubtful it would ever happen in the actual manga, it would make sense.
And I just don't get the people that keep on trying to bring in real life science to disprove this theory,
when the manga is based off of mythology and not science. I mean seriously, it's not scientifically possible

Maybe the second of the juubi is at the bottom of the ocean sealed at the bottom so no one can get to it the moon and the ocean share a connection as .well and no one will be ever be able to reach the bottom before being crush by the water pressure.

Another thing to remember on Karin's ability to assess the individuals' chakra, she did describe Sasuke's as darkness and cold while Naruto's is warm and bright, which reflected Hagoromo's comments on his sons in Indra and Ashura as Moon and Sun.

It wasn't two moons, it was the same moon, just at different phases for the sake of symbolism. Hagoromo said that it took Ashura a while to match Indra's strength, so the moons also show the passage of time.
