^But hey! At least Itachi entrusted his feelings to Sasuke and Sasuke might actually do the right things now and get redemption the correct way. He's been doing just swell since he got to the battlefield to assist Team 7 and the rest of the alliance.

Once again, genjutsu. Itachi is more mature than that. That is more Jiraiya's forte. U_U
But then again, in Rock Lee's spin-off series, it's created by one of Kishimoto's coworkers. So, it's basically not canon and just a light-hearted filler series. But it has the same voice actors. Jiraiya describes the different types of perverts and this is pretty much a summary of what he said:

Unafilliated are: Gai, Sai, Choji, and Orochimaru (too hard to classify in a group, you just don't know with them, questionable whether if they are men or not in the first place and whether they have appendages)
Casual Perverts are: Sasuke, Yamato, and Itachi
Closet Perverts are: Kakashi, Iruka, Neji, and Ebisu (just as perverted. Imagination and intelligence off the charts. Not as open about pervertedness)
Open Perverts are: Jiraiya, Lee, Konohamaru, and Naruto (True to desires and common trait among Shonen Jump main characters)

^In Naruto's profile in the databook, it states that his hobby is planting trees and watering plants in his spare time. And under Gaara's, it states that he likes to take care of cacti. Maybe Itachi cares about the environment as much as those two do?
