This is full kurama chakra sage mode, Naruto didn't lose his rikudou chakra. SM naruto was able to outstep, overpower and damage pre-shinju one eye'd Juudara.

The tenseigan and rinnegan function differently, but are comparable.

The rinnegan's abilities are already known to us so there is no point in listing them. Rather, lets compare them to what the tenseigan has. Tenseigan offers the user a chakra shroud, something that the rinnegan by itself does NOT do. Tenseigan also allows the user to utilize chakra as a weapon in and of itself (swords, laser barrage, orbs, etc.) which is something that the rinnegan does not do. From this what the tenseigan is actually meant to represent; a mix of Indra and Ashura abilities (they are eyes (Indra) which give the power over a chakra shroud (Ashura)

The rinnegan is therefore fitting as the eyes of a ninja (six paths technique) whereas the tenseigan would be better suited for someone who focuses primarily on taijutsu (Rock Lee...?)

Anyway, presuming that this isn't made up, it makes sense it'd equal the rinnegan if you think about it. I think the better question is how the heck a thousand byakugans don't far exceed the rinnegan?! Even if the rinnegan is a superior dojutsu individually, 1000X power should make the sheer power far greater. Then again, it is stated that Toneri's chakra mode comes from tiensengan as well. If his feats match the wiki's, then it goes without saying that his destructive feats are the greatest in the manga (only a statement regarding Kaguya's expansive TSB is greater).


However, despite this, I find a contradiction with the ranking. JJ Madara is the rinnegan+rikkudo chakra. Toneri's power is a dojutsu equal to the rinnegan, but with a chakra mode that only equals Naruto's 9 tails chakra mode (more specifically, BSM with full Kurama). While this obviously not as big as a difference between War Arc BSM Naruto and Juubi jins, there's still a gap. This should mean, that, if they have equal dojutsu power, and Toneri has inferior chakra, that he's inferior over all.


This means one of several things.

1. They actually meant RSM and not BSM

2. The Tiensengan is actually stronger than the rinnegan in dojutsu power alone

3. The green chakra balls that absorb chakra evens the odds.

If a SM naruto did that to Juudara, imagine what he can do in kcsm. The last is a timeskip too so naruto most likely got faster & stronger. There's a reason why Madara absorbed the tree to get stronger.

The wiki states RSM or better yet Six path sage mode. But regardless, he still got beat by KCM Naruto. But what I dont get is if he has a chakra mode equivalent of RSM then why did the producers allow it to get stolen. When that mode is suppose to be the equivalent?
