Alright I have seriously had enough of seeing these kind of matches and results...
I recently I have been looking threw matches after matches and have noticed something that annoys me to no end, and that is someone winning or losing by technicalities.
The fact that someone is incapable of judging for themselves if a move is valid or not can be troublesome but to the extent of someone constantly running to a RP mod to validate someone's actions that you are fighting against is just pure bull shit and cowardice.
Obtaining a win threw technicalities is nothing, there is no skill there is nothing gained from it other than showing people that you are incapable of judging it for yourself and lack an imagination.
So what I suggest that should be done about this is.....in an tournament match or a bio test match or what have you. If you ask for validation of an opponents move from an outside source more than 3 times (and failed to prove them wrong all 3 times) should either lose or be incapable of asking for validation just so they can attempt to win threw technicalities.
It pisses me off to no end to see that the only ones here with a battle sense are us old timers while you newer rookies do nothing more than stay far away throwing nukes at one another and if your incapable of judging you run to a mod just to get them to make the final verdict of the match....which in the end result takes the fun out of the RP.
Now another thing that annoys me but is not quite as long or as much....
What you rookies call "Official" Matches. Where participants are restricted to only using the 5 basic elements, nin, tai, and genjutsu's.........There is Nothing official about that kind of match absolutely nothing that is what I consider a "Restriction" Match. A Truly "Official" match is when the participants are using everything they know and is an all out battle with 0 restrictions to what one can use.
Please do not post in this thread just stating
"I agree" or something to that degree, shows us that your nothing more than a novice rookie just trying to up their post count. Elaborate what you think.
I agree with some points you made but with others i have to disagree. It would be quite impossible to set that "3 failed times" rule and it would prove quite difficult to enforce with the mods as you would need many more mods to check all fights and keep tabs on those times and etc etc etc.
New generation is different from the old one in many ways. In this i agree. Most new gen don't actually think by themselves and keep resorting to vomiting jutsu to their opponent rather than using the jutsu. But we must not forget that most old generation members also assume that their moves are mostly correct and sometimes even appear to have a sense that they are above the rules or above logic just because of their experience or their past accomplishments. I'm not saying its your case (and i know it isn't) but i think you know what i'm refering to. Most new gens feel a bit threatened and try to overcompensate by going to mods instead of talking directly with their opponent.
Its not the right way to do things but in a sense i get why it happens. However, winning a battle for a technicality doesn't have much value or gain you respect or makes you be seen as a skillful fighter but its still a win. Otherwise why would rules exist? If you break a rule, then you lose. Its quite simple. Breaking a rule by stating you use your sharingan to see a jutsu happening behind you when you are looking ahead or breaking a rule because you make 4 moves in a turn, etc...These are still breaking rules no matter how you look at it. The thing is that you should always talk to your opponent before actually running to a mod or judge or whatever. Then if you can't get to a conclusion get a mods opinion. Simple.
The thing lacking in the RP is manners, etiquette, respect. If you don't agree with someones move, why do people keep resorting to mods and senseis? Why not simply talk to your opponent? Why not vm and try to sort it out? Its rude and disrespectful and in that i agree that most members aren't adequate in the way they resolve these things. But this isn't a problem confined to the New Gen...
As for official matches the way i see it is that a spar is defined as a fight between two ninjas but the objective is to learn, train and better your skills, rather than winning. An unofficial battle is when two ninjas fight to win but outside the village system like when you challenge a friend to a match to win. An official battle comes as a result of some official village or RP business with the obvious objective of winning. Tests (Bio, Sensei, etc) are always Official as are tournaments and other matches set as a RP event. But in my humble opinion it has nothing to do with the rules of the match itself. These can be whatever you want as long as agreed by both fighters.
