Well, The OP wasn't specific on which version of superman. New 52 superman will lose to goku but the strongest incarnation of supes would neg diff kakarot.destroy the sun!
Super perfect cell had the power to destroy a solar system 7 years before the buu saga.

new 52 superman can beat goku the dude survived the pressure of a black hole, bench pressed earth for 5 days and only broke a single sweat simply because he wasnt near the sun, stopped a moon sized meteor neg diff, pushed a spaceship monster much bigger than earth, survived planet explosion etc.

Shenron, who allegedly gave Goku this ¨immortality¨ was also killed himself by King Piccolo and has died several times with the loss of Kami and Piccolo; having the Dragon Balls inside him did not make him immortal, as Shenron had them inside him and was mortal.
If you have to use Superman in his weakest form and Goku in his strongest just to make the match in Goku's favor, then you have your answer on who wins in their strongest incarnations, canon or non-canon.
I don't remember ever using Superman in his weakest form, that's your own assumption.
IF we use their base then Goku wins. If we use their non-canon versions then God-mode Pre-crisis- vampire Superman wins.
Your logic actually applies in reverse.

I agree the strongest Superman wins. The dude blows away solar systems with a snooze.
However, you have to still think why do so so many people refuse to accept Goku looses? One his character is much better than Superman's. It was written only once , ended once. Not like Supes. Two, Goku is actually a fighter and the fights are more interesting. Whatever feats Superman has, he is not a fighter and to watch him fight is boring. So yes he wins the fight but not true fans. So #Gokuwillalwaysbebetter

Except Superman has nothing but a base form? Aside from his god incarnation, Superman is always in base; he doesn't transform or change his being in any way to access his pre-crisis feats. While base Goku can barely lift a few tons, Superman was holding quintillions of them up with one hand[
