Senju were only relevant for Kishimoto because they were related to the Uchiha :| Kishimoto won't develop anything that he doesn't deem as essential to the storyline.

Only one Senju (Hashirama) is enough to annihilate all strong members of uchiha clan simultaneously.Only exception is MS Obito.
