Yeah I thought it was a known already that Naruto's Sun Seal does not have Yin Yang Release. The main goal of the seal along with the moon seal was to trap Kaguya in CT and undo the IT victims.

Chibaku Tensei is a Sealing Jutsu and the end result is a Sealing Stone. In NV, It was ejected out to Space by Hagoromo and Became Earth's Satellite, i.e; the Moon. The seals are symbolic of the forces of Yin = Moon and Yang = Sun; they won't actually create a Sun and Moon.

However the Half Moon - Half Sun Reference is extended by Kishi and portrayed on the sealing Stone

The combo of Sun and Moon Seals which was shown on Kaguya's Rinnesharingan when it was sealed.

However if we think out of the box, the Huge Sealing Stone could become anything, Like a Moon (Satellite), A Planet, A Blackhole (If the seal collapses on itself because the sealed power is to much to handle) and even a Star/Sun if the energy of the power sealed inside bursts out. This is all speculation though.

Healing Gai and Kakashi was clearly down to the seals; if it weren't, he wouldn't explicitly show the seal on the hand each time he did heal.

It could easily be that a stronger Yang is needed.

No, it wasn't. Naruto simply stabilized gai's life force which was yang release only, that is obvious due to the sun mark appearing on his chest. Yin/Yang release is completely different and is what he used to restore kakashi. Naruto used yin/yang release to create kakashi an eyeball from nothing.

My real question is what did Sasuke's seal do. Both when combined together could create a powerful sealing jutsu. Naruto's on the other hand could also prevent someone who used the 8th gate from dying and recreate an eye. I have no idea what Sasuke's seal's special ability was that he can't do without it.
