See, the thing is, this idea just doesn't make sense. The old system and the new system can't co-exist, because the new system is simply an improved version of the old system. There's no correlation between the two.
Tell me, what part of the old system could be brought back today and exist logically? If we keep everything in the new system, then there's nothing to bring back from the old system because everything is still there, just an improved version. You're being far too vague with the removing "less lackadaisical features" part. I don't really understand what you're referring to here. Tone down the restrictions on bios? Because having a few dozen Nagato bios will surely improve the RP a lot, right? Be more lenient with custom jutsu? I mean I guess if you're into one-hit KOs. How can you have an update of something but still retain the same features of the original? Isn't the complete purpose of an update to fix what's broken? And if after updating something you still attempt to hold on to the original, then you've completely contradicted your own intentions and ultimately defeating the purpose of your efforts? That's basically what this suggestion would do. Everything was updated for a reason:
People were tired of seeing hundreds of powerful abilities in one bio, so restrictions were made on kekkei genkais and special abilities.
People did not believe that custom techniques and elements were being judged fairly, so unbiased mods were implemented to attempt to make things fair.
Trying to manage to apply for a bio test involved most people spending time on a ridiculous chain of VMs to multiple mods before getting a tester, so a new section was made for battle tests and a thread for people to apply.
Given these and other aspects of the system that have been improved, I reiterate, this current system is fine. It's the mindset of many current members that poses a problem. Someone's bio gets approved before another person's even though they posted it first and everyone yells favoritism. A mod's custom technique gets approved and a regular member's gets declined and everyone thinks it's corruption. If this system is kept, then half the base is angry that they can't become Oped. If the old system goes through, then the same people who were angry about not being powerful before will become annoyed that other newer members became stronger than them. It's like everyone's trying to unravel some sort of conspiracy theory. ~_~
