They'd still have to know where the masks are, and if they're flying around they can easily change position. The only way to get through this hypothetical technique would be sensory/dojutsu usage. However, as there are three cannon techniques which will allow the user the ability to "sense", the opponent would be forced to resort to those if they aren't a dojutsu user/sensor (which would waste a move).

Description: Using the abilities of the Earth Grudge technique, Kakuzu will utilize his dark threads to transform his body into a foul version of a chosen human/animal hybrid which will have 2 of the masks the user has, manifested upon its head as its face. The two chosen masks and his main heart (Earth) will become the only elements usable by Kakuzu whilst he's in this form, severely limiting his arsenal but in turn greatly heightening his offensive and defensive power. Both elemental affinities of the masks positioned on his face can be used in conjunction as well as individually. Much like all threaded creatures, whilst in this form, the user is capable of flight, extending and retracting their limbs as well as regenerating any and all lost body parts. The threads which make up the armour are intricately and tightly interwoven to the extent their density surpasses even some metallic structures. As a result, the user becomes immune to all B-Rank and below techniques, making for a very formidable defense.
Armoured Crocodile - Tyrant of the Sea
This transformation is based using the Water and Wind masks together to form into an armoured dinosaur-looking creature which appears to be a prehistoric crocodile. The crocodile can simultaneously use Wind + Water for high pressure Suiton attacks (from its respective mouths) as well as retaining the capability to use both natures individually. Its entire body is composed of spiked threads, with the largest of them being along the spine of the creature, making them resemble swords protruding from its back. Due to its streamlined body its capable of underwater and cutting through the water at high speeds. The crocodile also possess an extremely long jaw capable of biting down with crushing force and a tail composed entirely of spiked threads which can be used for physical attacks.

If the user channels their raiton chakra into the threads, their penetrative abilities will heightened and the threads themselves will be electrified, giving them paralyzing capabilities. If the user channels their suiton chakra into the threads, they will become coated in a thick layer of adhesive water (similar to Water Release: Starch Syrup Capture Field), giving them adhesive properties and the ability to stick to people/objects. They will also become extremely resistant to burning. If the user channels their doton chakra into the threads, they will take on a pitch-black metallic sheen and be hardened to the extent they can clash with swords and endure powerful impact forces. If the user channels their fuuton chakra into the threads, their cutting capabilities will be enhanced and electrical currents will be impossible to conduct along them. If the user channels their katon chakra into the threads, they will be ignited, however shortly after ignition the threads are destroyed in the process, leaving a raging fire in its place. The jutsu itself doesn't add any damage or range to techniques used in conjunction with it. It simply serves the purpose of infusing the dark threads with elemental chakra to cause the technique to become an elemental jutsu of the same rank e.g. a B-Rank dark threads jutsu infused with doton chakra will become a B-Rank doton jutsu. These same threads immediately surface beneath all opponents on the battlefield in the form of black trees composed entirely of spiked threads which begin growing around all of the affected opponent(s), coiling around their respective targets and tightening their grip over them the longer they're allowed to grow. Due to the spikes protruding from the trees, the opponent is immediately impaled in an inumerous amount of places and these spikes are forced deeper into their bodies as the tree(s) hold tightens every second. As soon as the trees surface they constrict the affected target(s) with a strong enough grip to prevent any sort of mobility. The trees themselves grow in a spiral-like motion, pushing their spikes deeper into the opponent by the second, making it a futile endeavor to escape the longer the technique is allowed to proceed. Soon after utilizing the technique, the opponent's body collapses under the insane compressive pressure and severe wounds dealt to them.

Immediately on doing this, the layer of threads will erupt outwards in every direction, carrying the substance previously on the user's body along with it, effectively saving the user from whatever it might of been. The two stages of this technique happen almost simultaneously, allowing this technique to be used extremely quickly and minimize any damage afflicted to the user. This technique was developed should Kakuzu himself ever be set alight or covered in a constricting substance. To an observer, the technique appears to be a sudden yet forceful burst of dark threads from every point on the user's body. Due to its nature, the technique is exceedingly useful in countering techniques such as Amaterasu and Sticky Earth Drop. Alternatively, Kakuzu's masks are also capable of using this jutsu but with much more efficiency as they're composed entirely of threads.

The whole mechanism of the technique works by blocking chakra-based entities from entering/exiting the threaded mask. However, whilst this technique stops the user inhaling toxic fumes and fungal spores, it also prevents the user from releasing techniques from their own mouth, making it a very double edged sword.

This technique can also be used if Kakuzu is physically connected to the source of dark threads via a bodily connection (the dark threads come from his body), making this extremely versatile in use. The speed at which Kakuzu travels through the threads is same as that of his normal running speed and so can be reacted to.

Even low concentrations of ozone are very destructive to organic materials such as latex, plastics,animal lung tissue and stunts overall growth of plants as such it is very effective against wood release. A higher concentration of ozone has also the potency to harm lung function and irritate the respiratory system and cause cardiopulmonary problems which may lead to heart failure if not dealt with. Even very low concentrations of ozone can be harmful to the upper respiratory tract and the lungs. The severity of injury depends on both by the concentration of ozone and the duration of exposure. Severe and permanent lung injury or death could result from even a very short-term exposure to relatively low concentrations. Due to extreme mastery over ozone,the users of ozone release are not effected by inhaling ozone. Heavy concentrations of ozone are however deadly to the user of the release as well. Ozone has a great oxidizing power, second to fluorine. Much like wind, Ozone is very flammable as it oxygen within it fuels the heat and flames of fire-based elements, making it weak to Fire Release.
A startlingly unique property possessed by Ozone is its naturally capability to absorb various forms of electromagnetic radiation. Naturally occurring Ozone, strongly absorbs solar UV radiation, causing atmospheric temperature to climb to about 30°F (0°C) at the top of the layer, and preventing much of this radiation from reaching earth's surface, where it would injure many living things. However, once manipulated through chakra, this ability to absorb radiation is heightened to a new level. The user's ozone is capable of absorbing all types of radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum, allowing it to shield radio waves, infrared energy, visible light, microwaves and even gamma radiation. Enhancing substances with chakra has shown to make them much more potent as displayed through Konan's abilities. Her Paper Ninjutsu was able to go head to head with Jiriaya’s fire jutsu, whilst normal paper would been futile against the Katon element. A logical explanation being that infusing chakra into elements/objects makes them more powerful. Following this same principle, Ozuzon's radiation absorption capabilities far dwarf those of natural ozone.
The resulting effect of this means:
-Ozone can be used to act as a very powerful radiation shield
-Ozone can be used to block sunlight
-That it can be used to make conditions in a certain area more habitual by creating an expansive dome of Ozone, decreasing the overall temperature of the confined space by letting in less harmful UV Light.
-Despite being weak to Fire-based elements, elements which solely utilize heat but have no inherent substance are weak to Ozuzon, as its absorption abilities encompass infrared radiation (heat energy). A good example of this is Arid Release which solely utilizes heat energy.
Furthermore, the user is capable of adjusting the density of Ozuzon much like Mei adjusts the acidity of her Boil Release mist. The density of Ozuzon can range from making it resemble a solid to making the gas lighter than air. This grants the element much more defensive and supplementary use, as it condensed ozone can be used to create near-solid constructions of ozuzon e.g. pillars, shields and armours.

Description:The user does a single seal manifesting a great amount of ozone gas in a desired area of the user's choice.The inhaling of this ozone gas can cause respiratory and cardio disorders.As the gas starts to materialize around the opponent,it causes burning eyes and irritation to the respiratory passages. After a turn of exposure,the opponent would start to breathe heavily and blood flow to the heart would be reduced. After 2 turns of exposure,the opponent will begin to feel feint and their vision will become clouded. After the third turn of exposure, the opponent will die due to heart failure. This ozone gas created this way can also be used for further ozone related jutsu's. A significant drawback of the jutsu is that the opponent can smell the ozone forming around due to its odor,even if he doesn't have heightened sense of smell. Furthermore, the due to Ozone's visible nature, the opponent sees the mist forming around them, allowing them to react accordingly.

The dome itself is a very dark blue and composed entirely of dense ozone. This dome serves the purpose of blocking out all sunlight and harmful rays trying to penetrate the structure, making the inside of the dome pitch-black. Anyone inside of the dome will be robbed of their sense of sight, causing them to rely upon their other senses.

Facts that prove the element to be possible (in the manga context):The aloe plants are mainly desert plants that thrives of of intense heat and can live in conditions with little to no rain, but with over 500 species they have been seen to also live in mountainous and tropical island regions as well. They are known as a medical plants, and have been used for many medical treatments dating back to the days of the Egyptians. From Africa the plant has been spread and cultivated through trade and explorations of many nations ranging from the Greeks, Romans, Spaniards, Chinese, Japanese, etc. In the olden Japanese culture it was known as the “royal plant”, and the juice was consumed as an elixir which the samurai used it for embrocations. The Naruto series being heavily based off of Japanese culture gives me enough proof that this plant would exist in it.
For further proof of the existence of the aloe plant in the Narutoverse, here is a chapter where Naruto called Zetsu a "Aloe Vera", which is one of the main subspecies of the aloe plants that hold the specific gel my CE is based upon -

Naruto, a ninja who has experienced many things around the Narutoverse due to a 3 year training expedition with his personal teacher Jiraiya, seems to know the aloe vera plant well enough to see Zetsu and think he holds a close enough resemblance to the plant to insult him about it. If the plant didn't exist, then Naruto wouldn't be able to compare the similar characteristics which lead to Zetsu being insulted.
How it works
Gel
By manipulating Earth and Water chakra the user can create the gel in an aloe vera plant, but the earth and water combination is not enough to sustain this CE once it released due to the environments oxygen causing the gel to oxidize, which overall renders it useless. The final element needed in order to produce this CE is the wind element. The user will add their wind chakra to the mix and then manipulate it in order to create airtight seals around every molecule of the aloe gel protecting it from the environment's oxygen as it is released by the user. This allows the user to release the natural gel in an unrestricted state. In this state the aloe release would mainly be used for supplementary uses due to its many beneficial properties.
Aluton's composition grants it properties of being both extremely viscous and an unparalleled level of stickiness. The viscosity of the mixture makes it so that weapons or physical objects can only partially pass through it until they run out of momentum. This mainly translates to kunai, swords and other projectiles become trapped inside the mixture. Its stickiness also grants it the effect of being able to congeal semi-solid elements together such as: Sand, Gold sand and Iron sand. Rendering them ineffective as they can no longer reform and reshape, a property they depend on in combat.
Further building on its adhesive properties, the element's own stickiness can be adjusted by the user to fit their needs, much like Mei adjusts the acidity of her mist. The stickiness can vary anywhere from completely ensnaring to an extremely slippery quality.
Beneficial Properties
When the gel is used externally, the aloe vera gel naturally contains properties such as:
Astringent: Causes a contraction of the skin, blood vessels, and other tissues which stops bleeding.
Emollient: Helps to soften and smooth the skin
Anti Fungal: Destroys fungal structures e.g. Mushrooms
(Due to the restrictions of medical jutsus on the base, this property cannot be fully utilized without training, but can be used for basic application of the gel. A ninja shouldn't require med training to apply a gel over a wound.)
Ballistic/Rubber State
With added dosage and increased manipulation of the wind and water chakra in this CE, the user can cause the aloe gel to drop in temperature, thus allowing it to transform into a denser state while retaining its gel qualities. This transforms the unrestricted gel into a more ballistic/rubber like state. In this state, aloe release has shock absorbent and flexible qualities.In this state aloe release would mainly be used for defensive uses.

[Aroerirīsu: Emollient Bodi] Aloe Release: Emollient Body Type: Defensive Rank: B Range: Short Chakra: 20 Damage: N/A Description: The user surges their aloe chakra throughout their body which releases the aloe in its gel state throughout every pore. This slimy coating of the gel all over the body smooths the users skin to the point where blunt blows slide off of them rendering taijutsu and other blunt attacks useless for the time being. This also renders the users taijutsu useless as well.
[Aroerirīsu: Dandō kabe] Aloe Release: Ballistic Wall Type: Defensive Rank: B Range: Short Chakra: 20 Damage: N/A Description: The user performs two hand seals while molding their aloe chakra in their chest. They then spit out a large amount of aloe gel in front of themselves, while manipulating it so that it increases in density, creating a ballistic type wall that stands at a height a little over the user. This wall has the ability to absorb the shock of blunt blows of equal and lower ranks.

Kakuzu was a tall, tanned, muscular man that towered over most humans. He wore a white hood and a black mask, with his eyes being the only visible part of his face. Underneath, his mouth was stitched together at the edges and he had long dark brown hair. His eyes have an unusual colouring: green irides, no pupils and red sclera. He usually wears long, dark cloaks with red clouds, a red interior, and a chin-high collar with and a forehead protector with a scratch in the middle.
Kakuzu looks like an ordinary human, but underneath his clothing, he has multiple stiches and scars over his body. This is because of his multiple surgeries, replacing internal organs and tissues into metal and machanisms for his cyborg body. He has a more unique body structure, which was composed of hundreds of thick, grey tendrils woven throughout his cyborg body. holding his body together like the stitches of a rag-doll. This allowed him to separate his body parts at will, to perform long-range physical attacks and sew up almost any injury he suffered. With his unique body structure, he has shown himself capable of extending his limbs a considerable distance from his body, use them as a restraint mechanism, repair his own wounds and using them to latch onto parts of the terrain in quick succession.

Kakuzu was a greedy, miserly individual, arranging goals in terms of the highest profit he could gain from them, and was often unwilling to involve himself in something if there was nothing to gain from it, as well as claiming that he tended to forget opponents who were not worth any money after he was done with them. He even remarked that money is the only dependable thing in the world. Due to this end, he referred to himself as the "Treasurer". Given his friendly relationship with the marines, his bounty officer, it would seem he collected bounties rather frequently to earn cash, and did so (or at least tried) during his missions on several occasions. The frequent side-tasks and devotion to money were both major points of contention between Marines and Kakuzu. He also seemed to respect an opponent who thinks.
Despite his obsessive personality and violent rages, Kakuzu was much more cautious than most bounty hunters, and was not as arrogant, never mindlessly rushing into battle like Hidan. Kakuzu rarely lets his guard down. Kakuzu also seemed quite willing to follow orders. History:

Description: After channeling his suiton chakra throughout the dark threads within his body, Kakuzu will release a mass of adhesive threads (Similar to Water Release: Starch Syrup Capture Field) directly from the soles of his feet, deep into the ground below, making sure not to alert his opponent as he does this. These same threads will then emerge beneath all opponents on the battlefield, attaching multiple strands of sticky threads to them whilst causing the threads to attach to one another, forming a immense web-like structure. The affected target(s) will be ensnared and captured inside the vast expanse of the web, completely preventing their mobility, stopping them from escaping. Once the web is fully constructed, Kakuzu will cause all of the individual threads which make up the structure to sporadically spike out in every direction, fatally impaling the opponent in an inumerous amount of places. The substance the threads are coated in will short-circuit electricity, meaning electrical currents can't be channeled throughout it. This also means the opponent will be killed in the event he tries to use a technique like Chidori Nagashi, but no harm will be dealt to the user. When used in a confined area, this technique will be much more efficient as the adhesive threaded strands will also attach to walls, ceilings and parts of the terrain.

Description: This technique can only be used after being poisoned either by inhaling a toxic gas, being exposed to a fungal substance or allowing a lethal substance to enter the user's blood stream. Kakuzu will channel his chakra throughout the dark threads within his body to forcibly ingest the harmful substance, absorbing the entirety of it with his chakra enhanced threads, before redirecting it into one of his elemental hearts contained in an animal-shaped mask. All of the substance, no matter how potent will be redirected into and then stored in the elemental heart of his choice. The resulting effect will be that Kakuzu's body is alleviated from all of the symptoms caused by the poisoning, returning his body to its optimum condition. In exchange for this, the heart now storing the toxic substance will die as a result, causing Kakuzu to lose the elemental affinity of that mask. A toxic substance can only be redirected into any single mask once per battle, making this technique usable only four times per battle.

Description: After channeling chakra into the dark threads within his body, Kakuzu will feed a mass of dark threads from the bottom of his feet straight into the ground below to cause a truly colossal golem composed of dark threads to surface beneath his position. The golem created via this technique is similar to the one created by Earth Release: Great Stone Golem Technique in both size and shape, with the unique difference of his whole body being made up of spiky threads (apart from his head) and his head resembling the shape of a knight's helmet. The threads which make up the golem are so tightly woven together to the extent their density surpasses that of most metallic structures, making him as durable if not more so as other elemental golems. Much like all threaded creatures, the golem is capable of extending and retracting his limbs, utilizing all dark threads techniques the user knows and has the innate ability of sewing up physical injuries dealt to him. The most unique feature of the threaded golem is his ability to integrate Kakuzu's masked creatures into his own body, allowing the golem to utilize the element(s) of the masks within his body. The masks must be completely merged into the golem's body, effectively becoming a temporary addition to the gargantuan creature.

Description: Kakuzu will channel his chakra throughout the dark threads within his body, whilst releasing them into the ground via the soles of his feet. Almost immediately, a vertical platform begins lifting him into the air, allowing him to ascend to the level of high aerial targets or swiftly dodge incoming attacks. Unlike normal platforms, the user is physically connected to the rising platform of dark threads and can freely govern its movement, so long as they are connected to it. The platform can emerge at any angle the user desires, making this technique perfect for evasion of incoming attacks, as well as reaching different parts of the terrain. Despite being connected to the platform of dark threads, the user can detach themselves from it at any time or simply retract the threads into their body. Alternatively, Kakuzu can use this for more offensive use, by coiling the platform around the opponent much like a constricting snake before causing the individual threads which make up the threaded structure to sporadically spike out in every direction, impaling them in an innumerous amount of places.

Description: Kakuzu will focus his chakra into any dark threads outside his body to unleash a violent outburst of hardened spiky dark threads from every point on those threads, as projectiles in all directions, in a similar manner to how bullets function. The spikes explode out of the threads with a devastating amount of force, skewering through the bodies of any shinobi struck by them. The spikes themselves are thirty centimeters in length and ten centimeters in width, closely resembling the dimensions of a basic dagger. On being released, the spikes will impale everything within a five meters radius (short range) from where they were released. This technique's primary use is further amplifying the damage caused by threaded structures protruding from his body e.g. spikes, swords and etc, but can also be used to make idle threaded structures on the field (which he isn't connected to) even more deadly to be close to.
