Itachi used to be in top 5 when full power ninjas were not revealed.

Now we have seen Hashirama, Tobirama, Minato, Nagato, Muu, Madara & Naruto's powers so now Itachi is in top 10 but not in top 5.

You can't really believe all of those people would beat Itachi according to Kishi.

As Kishi's made it very clear that Itachi is among his favorite and most powerful/intelligent ninja.

e.g. Naruto beat the 3rd Raikage with a clone, whereas Itachi beat the title character with a clone.

Liking a character alone isn't enough reason for Kishimoto to make character A superior to characters B or C. Kishimoto has a hardon for Shikamaru, he even admitted in an interview that he'd want to be Shikamaru's girlfriend, but that isn't affecting Kishimoto's perspectives.

I really don't think so. Sasuke was an extremely polished shinobi with the Sharingan genjutsu and a host of powerful ninjutsu, including an S-rank jutsu. Kakashi is similarly crazy-talented and possessing a broken bloodline ability. I think the young Sannin would be more around Zabuza's level.

This is beginning of pt.2 Sasuke, without his snake or MS power-ups. Orochimaru said that at his age, 16, that he wasn't as powerful. However, the Sannin were about 19 or 20 when they fought Hanzo, so they were likely around Sasuke's level.

Hanzo also wasn't just fighting one Sasuke-level character, he was fighting three, and to make things worse is that they worked very well together as a team.

P.S. Zabuza is about Kakashi's level. Hell, he needed a Nara, a Yamanaka, and a Suna-nin to help him beat Zabuza.
