The only way it can bend is if the space the staff is embedded in bends.

Furthermore, Gai can already bend the air, even in 6th gate. So why would Madara be so shocked by seeing Gai bend air?? It doesn't make sense. Madara in base form can already bend the air via PS slash shockwaves.

But again, the staff can't bend unless space bends.

Guy there produced a sonic boom, meaning he was moving at a speed of ~340-350 m/s... well when you put that into Naruto terms it would be a very fast body flicker jutsu.

A plant can bend with just the wind blowing over it,since that staff is like a fluid with high viscosity I suppose it would bend as well if fast enough wind is blown towards it, also since Aeroplanes do bend when under the influence of sonic boom, my point is that its not s/t ninjutsu its just purely a fast moving with high speeds which is certainly not near the speed of light in air but rather speed of sound in air.. Also it cannot be a S/T ninjutsu since guy cannot use ninjutsu... so since when did moving fast and creating supersonic punches in the air has been considered as nijutsu in Naruto?

That was not space/time taijutsu! Guy was moving at a supersonic speed meaning he was just moving faster than sound there. That is why his body was not able to keep up and got damaged.

Guy has been using shock waves all along, eving elephant, hirudora asakujaku, all of them involve moving faster than sound in air.. which produese a supersonic wave... which is above 350 m/s now stop saying its speed of light guys ._.

Gai's speed would need to be making the air move at 300.000 km/s , to be able to make space/time to contract and expand.

At this speed only an electron can "survive" , this speed can't be reached in an atmosphere.

It's more about sound speed , Mach1 , Mach2 , Mach 3...

The fastest object humanity made may be "New-horizons" :21km/s=Mach50=light speed/15000 , but in an almost perfect vacuum .
