I just bought 2 physical copies of One Piece, 67 and 68 (for Smoker ofc (which by the way is a much more amazing feeling than reading online) and in every page where Zoro is relevant his name is actually Zolo.

At first I thought this was a joke at his character description that was incorrect in one of the earlier chapters or something... but given that these are the most accurate, Oda approved translations... does this mean Zolo is his real name?

Zoro is his real name but they change it in the American Manga to avoid copyright.
Are you sure? I imagine they wouldn't have to worry about it since they already have permission to release them. Even in the video games which aren't even canon and Oda isn't involved with Zoros name is spelled correctly.

What is Physical Copy? And the dub calls him Zolo and Ace is called Trace
I mean I bought the actual manga volume in the store from the shelf

I believe Oda confirmed it in an interview that it is Zoro and not Zolo like Luffy isn't Ruffy.

zoro or zolo doesn't really matter
it's about how it's written in japanese, it's basically the same in english. So actually he isn't zoro neither zolo, but ロロノア・ゾロ :p

Dark Link is wrong. They have 100 % permission to use it. It's because Ls and Rs usually get mixed up from Japanese to English because they can't pronounce it right anyways. In the DBZ manga, Krillin was written as Kuririn.

Japanese does not have separate L and R sounds, and L- is normally transcribed using the kana that are perceived as representing R-. For example, London becomes ロンドン (Ro-n-do-n).
Source:

Zoro name is writen using katakana: ゾ- romanized as zo and ロ- romanized as ro.
But since you have this problem with Japanese language where they don't separate two sounds R and L, his name can be also pronounced as Zolo.

And what is right or wrong pronunciation is not that easy to determine simply because of different perception of these sounds for native Japanese speaker.
