Gui Mu launches more smoke into the area, fusing it with his chakra. Once enough smoke is created, he did the same thing he did when making the sphere, using his chakra to manipulate and knead the smoke into a sphere around his clone. Once he's kneaded the chakra into a sphere around the clone, he focuses on closing the sphere around the clone, making it smaller and more dense. Making it as small and dense as he can, he hinders his clones movements and traps them in the prison of smoke.
