He was amazed that Naruto could use senjutsu and referred to it as ''the same as Jiraiya sensei''.
Minato needed Naruto's help in infusing his Rasengan with senjutsu vs Obito.
Yin Kurama said Minato could be backup for Naruto, due to Naruto being the one with
senjutsu right?

Now Minato can suddenly use senjutsu himself and a lot better than Jiraiya apparently, seeing
he doesnt have all kinds of frog body parts transformations like Jiraiya had.

So Minato could have infused his own rasengan with senjutsu (or he could have gone sage mode instead) and he wouldnt have needed Naruto's help in infusing his rasengan.
He wouldnt have needed to be backup perse either.
Yin Kurama was on good terms with Minato, so he would have let Minato combine
sage mode and Kurama's chakra.

He should have referred to Naruto's sage mode as ''the same as mine''
seeing both Naruto and Minato have surpassed Jiraiya in sage mode.

Have I missed anything?
Is Minato using sage mode inconsistent with the rest of the story?
Or does it make sense for him to use it in this chapter all of a sudden?

What are your thoughts and why?

p.s. does this confirm that Minato has huge chakra reserves?

It's not a coincidence that after the kyuubi got extracted from minato he used sage mode soooo this means that he can't use sage mode while being the jinchuurki of kyuubi

Yea , I always said Minato was able to use sage mode, ofcourse Uchiha fappers always denied it , it just proves now that they are not worthy of a single argument anymore and their words fall in to empty space if they can't even have such basic understanding of this manga
So don't bother raging , anything u flap out now will be again dissaproved by Kishi later on.

Okay when minato was fighting obito he didnt use sage mode right?? Why because he's a jinchuurki of kurama or maybe he couldn't for being a jinchuurki of kyuubi but however after the kyuubi was stolen form minato he used sage mode as if he can use it without kurama meaning kurama has something to do with sage mode for those who are saying it's an asspull wait till the manga finishes maybe kishi will explain it better

BM was due to him sealing 1/2 the chakra into himself at death. SM has been hinted from as early as pt 1. Minato had a contract with the toads, was Jiraiya's student, and the toads knew of him. In part 2 when he fought Pain he was compared to Minato and Jiraiya in having surpassed them.

It's simple logic, just used the premises given: Jirayia was Minato's teacher and Jiraya knew Sage Mode. Jiraiya was Naruto's teacher. Therefore it follows Minato and Naruto know Sage mode.
Jiraiya taught his students how to work with toads and toads know Sage Jutsu. Minato and Naruto both have close relations with toads. Therefore it's possible both know Sage Mode.
Fugasku said SM Naruto passed the two before him. Jiraiya and Minato were shown in panels when this was said. Therefore it follows Minato and Jiraiya knew Sage Mode.

It's called retcon. Kishi doesn't know wtf he's doing. Last week a wrote a nice praise thread to kishi and ended it with "Good job writing yourself in a hole kishi... i await to see how you write yourself out of it". Guess i have my answer. He's going to make up any shit because he has no clue.

It was explicitly stated only Jiraiya had mastered it before Naruto,
Minato didn't use it against the man he believed to be Madara Uchiha himself,
He didn't use it to battle the Kyuubi,
He didn't use it to save his wife,
He didn't use it to save his son,

His questioning of Naruto using SM doesn't match his speaking patterns:

"Naruto can use Jiraiya's ability?"
"This man possesses teleportation that surpasses Lord Second's or mine."

That Minato felt like his era was over and he wanted Naruto to be the one to save the day this time, so he held back from what could have been a victory. In fact, he probably wanted his son to be recognized as Hokage. Yep, this is definitely going to be the reasoning we get now that I think about it...
