When you write a great story and there is a possible inconsistency like this, it wont suddenly make you a bad writer. What about the huge majority of the story that is great? That shows more of his writing skills than a possible inconsistency. Not to forget his drawing skills and style are part of the story as well.

Look closer. It say "fail" not "fodder." Sasuke is among the strongest in the manga. He failed, and shouldn't have, but that doesn't make him fodder. I made this sig since it's actually kind of what Madara was saying to Sasuke. I thought it would be funny if it were put into NB terms. Sorry, but fail/=/fodder. There's no hypocrisy. I argued Minato having Senjutsu many times years ago but the way it was inserted in there was a catastrophic fail for Minato's character
He is still my fav character but wtf Kishi, this Madara power levels made all our favorite characters completely irrelevant like Minato, Jiraya and Nagato ... I mean this is just beyond ridiculous

Minato using senjutsu...WTF?
So apparently Minato can now use SM when there was no indication of him having it.He had to ask Naruto to add senjutsu chakra to that big Rasengan when fighting Juubito and now he can use SM?
You know.....that could've come in handy when fighting Juubito so why did'nt Minato use it?If the explanation is he did'nt have to then that's bullshit!

Just the fact that he didn't use it against an adversary that's only weakness in Senjutsu and yet he still didn't use it proves this.

The inconsistencies will continue to mount.
It is just one of several inconsistencies that can be explained with a single reason. Even the title of the chapter "The Current Me" alludes to it. Can you imagine a time when Minato trained at Mt. Myobokuzan to attain sage mode? What if this happened? If Narutoverse is stuck constantly looping the possibility exists that in a different timeline this occurred. Kishimoto shows evidence of the loop through revealing inconsistencies that can change chapter to chapter and even panel to panel.
The inconsistencies will continue to mount.

It's clear it's an ass pull, I'm not sure how anyone can defend this. Not even because of the lack of him using it in this chapter, but way back Naruto's SM training arc.
However I don't think this messes up the story or anything, nor does it cause me any rage. However I feel it does down-grade the j-man

That was the point, bringing SM to minato now at this vital point demonstrated that even with SM, Madara cant be matched except with either the exact same power, ex: what obito is trying to do right now, or by Hashirama method to bind him with the Sage energy madara is using atm. My bet, it'll be a jutsu that amplifies and will continuously draw in natural energy at such a rate, he wont be able to balance it...
