Well seems like that suggestion got confirmed to be wrong ... Just like people thought the regular celestial display suggested a geocentric model and Galileo did a asspull job. Though I would like some explanation myself (Kishi always explains later on, just like he explained today how the common people actually received spiritual energy) ... the idea was not so plot shredding.

To address both of you;

So wait. Minato can activate Sage Mode in an instant AND that was a battle of speed, something Minato knew was all or nothing and that he could lose from one misstep, and he chooses NOT to use Sage Mode? Right.

Just to notify you goldfish ... Minato stood in that position with Kakashi for a while during which Madara and BZ chatted and he has far greater chakra control than Naruto. So that gives enough time for gathering Sage chakra for a short burst.

It could be because of his and Naruto's connection to Kurama. Just like how he was quickly able to understand and use kurama chakra. Maybe there is a sub-link between to two halves that translate certain experiences, like the sensation of feeling and gather natural energy and the feel of controlling Kurama's chakra.

Then it is. What I consider an a-pull is something not foreshadowed and strongly implied that that person could not use something but does. However, while recent chapters have indicated that he could not, it was foreshadowed he could do it before. So I'd label it a plot hole since Minato was indicated to have it, but did not use it.

So Minato learned senjutsu by virtue of his chakra that felt Naruto learning senjutsu inside him which then got transmitted to him back inside the shinigami? So that's why he can use senjutsu? Thats weak tbh. But it might explain it, still its an ass pull.

I've just seen that entire one panel of Minato using Sage Mode, I agree, it is there but it shouldn't be. This is the biggest ass pull I've ever seen.


He could have used it against Juubito to preserve Naruto's Chakra reserves.

Minato is a pitiful excuse for a father and even worse as a ninja, not only did he fail to keep his son safe but was ultimately the reason his son is practically dead. If Minato had used Sage Mode against Juubito, Naruto wouldn't have had to exert himself as the burden would have been shared among 3 people as opposed to Naruto and Sasuke having to shoulder all of that and bust out their best techniques against Juubito.

If I were a Sasuke or Naruto fan, I'd be so pissed of right now but seeing as I've been Team Madara since Part-1, I am blissfully happy.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure Minato cares more about Obito than his own Son.

No, not inside the shinigami, its already been proven that he does not recall anything that has happened while he was inside the shinigami. I mean since hes been edo'd, he has seen Naruto go sage mode in close proximity and has been directly connected to naruto in sage mode via Kurama's chakra, its also how he was able to see the conversation between Naruto and Obito. I'm still speculating tho.
