^ this exactly. Jiraiya extreme diff in terms of Pein though.

Also Jiraiya starting in SM with both Ma and Pa is too much for Itachi. Jiraiya has the capability to evade Itachi in order to get Ma and Pa's sound genjutsu to do its thing. Sound genjutsu > dogenjutsu. (Might even think he might not even need the sound genjutsu due to his summoning prowess plus Ma can summon a lot of toads)

What Genjutsu? The sound one? A simple Fuuton:Great Breakthrough desyncs toads' prep and makes them useless for the rest of the fight.
