Ahh, sleep paralysis. Hapend to me twice in one night where each time after I heard ambient noises it happened.I couldn't do anything, not even shout.so the next night it hapened again and after that I went straight to google to find an answer. Some scientists found it to be related to other sleep disorders such as imsomnia or even different sleeping patterns.however I was amazed by all the different cultures that by folk law, believe it to be the presence of something like a ghost or sucucbus interfering with yu. Scientists say that when in the state of sleep paralysis viv I'd halucinations may occur. After reading up on this I though what I was expriencing was all in my mind, however the next night it hapened again but I was so fed up from being tierd I just broke out and I swear I grabbed something transparent.but it was late and I was tierd

the sucubus/demon/jinn is most likely meant as a symbolic reference to the experience.

Oooh interesting. That probably means you almost experienced an OBEE. (Out of body experience) nice
Ya I went back and read some of the earlier posts after putting that and was like, "Wooh that's a lot closer to an OBE than sleep paralysis" lol

I'm trying to think back to what else I experienced, but anything I think I remember, I'm worried is my mind wanting to fill in the blanks. But after watching that video you posted about the OBE's I think I remember there 100's of dim glimmering specks around me. Though like I said, that might be my mind wanting to remember them, rather than actually remember them =P

Well, no need to be jealous, considering I was like all of 12 years old at the time (I'm 23 now) and didn't really take advantage of the opportunity. Though it makes me want to research it more and try to do it again, though this time intentionally. :D

Wow, your even familiar with the Pleiades, how awesome xD and your dad sounds like my mom. Since my mom was raised by the son of a free mason, she has a lot of knowledge on these topics just like your dad. 'Sol a Ra' huh? I know 1 of the hidden ancient secrets is the fact that words have the power to control thoughts, emotions, etcetera. Maybe that 'being' was trying to positively influence you by chanting a vibrational thingy.. ye.. lol ;P Also, cool that your dad knows that radio station 'Coast to Coast'.
saw one of your posts and i was wondering did anyone else correct you on what lucid dreaming actualy is? lucid dreaming is the practice of dreaming and realizing your in a dream in your dream allowing you to do whatever you want.. there are many techniques done to learn this

There's nothing to correct. I am familiar with Lucid Dreaming, you might have misread a part? Or I have messed up a bit of the post i guess

what are your personaly exercises or ones you use to train and get better at lucid dreaming... and also do you lucid dream about naruto?
I never had a lucid dream. Sleep paralysis is somewhat different. My experience lacked some of the symptoms that occur in a lucid dream

lucid dream = realizing your in a dream
sleep paralysis = actually waking up but not being able to move an inch + other symptoms

Once happened to me about 8-12 times over a 4 month period. I never saw any shadowy figure or blue lights, though.

It's a strange feeling. Sometimes you simply can't move, sometimes you can't even speak, sometimes you can't breath. Anytime I tried to speak, I made these weird mumbling noises. It didn't even sound like words. Like I said, the feeling itself is extremely weird. I've found two ways to stop the paralysis: The first one is forcing yourself awake, which is unpleasant because your body doesn't want to wake up, but it really does not want to go to sleep again, so it leaves you in this limbo-like state. But forcing yourself awake feels like when you didn't get enough sleep and force yourself to get out of bed, but that burdened feeling is multiplied. The other method I use to wake myself up is to slowly wait until my arm can begin to move. It's still numb, but I can very slowly move one of my arms to the other one to grab it or tap on it. After that, I have to touch my face and try to open my eyes, and by that time, I'm usually conscious enough to wake up. It's funny, because it sort of reminds me of the Naruto scene where Orochimaru is caught by Itachi's paralysis genjustu and slowly tried to break it by moving his arms to make a handseal.

But yeah, sleep paralysis is scary, even if you don't see anything creepy.
Thanks for sharing. I hope i can achieve an astral projection by maintaining the sleep paralysis

This happened to me probably more than ten times lol. It's creepy and scary but I don't open my eyes so I don't get those hallucinations. The trick is to not panic. I usually just breathe deeply or try to wiggle my fingers or toes to make my brain know I'm awake and get me out of the sleep paralysis.

That's the wisest way to get your body to wake up again. well said.

sleep paralysis is something which happens to me occasionally
basically what happen is when we are dreaming we do different movement in the dream so to prevent ourself from hurting while doing those movement in reality our brain secretes a enzyme which temporarily paralyzes our body.(to prevent movement).
and when we are waking up our mind again secretes a enzyme to undo the paralysis . but sometime our mind wakes up (cause of some shock or bad dream) but body is still in paralyzed mode .
to make sure i am not dreaming i count
i make sure my mind is awake
at younger age i used to panic . use to try move my whole body with all the power inside me and wake up with heavy breath in .
and thank god that it's over
but it happened again again so i made following steps to get out of it .
i slowly increase my breating speed (it really helps)
try to move my fingers (they are easily instead of other parts of body)
and don't panic
:D

Oh I had experienced this once, and me being a sucker for creepy stuff kinda liked it, tho it did scare the heck outta me. It is nuthing but a mechanism to protect your body, frum your unwanted and uncanny responses to nightmares. For example if in your dream yu were being chased and yu woke up mid dream with the feeling yu'd probly dart outta bed and run headfirst into your cupboard, thereby spending quite some on hospital bills.Sleep paralysis prevents your body frum responding untill yu hav overcome the state of shock and realized that it wuz just a dream :3

This happens to me on occassion. It's not scary like you describe, but it's a real phenoma that almost everyone goes through at one point or another. For this to happen, you have to be coming out of a DEEP sleep and coming out quickly. I've woken up and couldn't move many times, and if you see/feel anything it's a dream. even if you're "awake," ur not awake fully in that state you can still see or feel things from a dream. The way u described trying to open your eyes, you may have actually still been asleep at that point but you "knew" your were awake. I have many times been asleep, realized it, tried to wake up, but couldn't, desperately tried opening my eyes, but couldn't--u were probably like that except you weren't as conscious as i was. It's hard to explain, and even if you don't believe me, the scary part was a dream. the paralysis, that's actually normal. Many strange things can happen in your brain between deep slumber and total consiousness

Some time this year, I think I experienced something similar to what some people here experienced. I was very tired and needed rest so badly so I just laid down on my bed and didn't even mind those so called signals that the brain makes before you sleep. I neglected it. I don't know how long I laid there like that but later on I couldn't move my body. I was able to open my eyes but didn't see any weird things, didn't hear anything, and there wasn't any weight on my chest. I just couldn't move my body. I really tried hard to move it starting with my toes and fingers. It took me quite a while to be able to move it. After some time, I can move my body again. I'm relieved not to see weird things some people mentioned. Now I want to know, is this sleep paralysis?
