No it should not be considered as a draw. In every 1 on 1 fight, the last one to stand or remain alive is the winner. It doesn't matter what the objective is. You die first, you lose. How I die later is irrelevant.
In a battle to death? Yes,it should be considered as a draw not matter how badly you look at it.What do you mean by "It dosen't matter what the objective is? The objective of the battle plays an importante role here.It is like saying that if Gai managed to kill Madara but still Madara managed to cast infinite Tsukuyomi just b4 his death then how can you call that a victory when Gai's true objective is clearly to stop Tsukuyami but not killing Madara? Btw your examples aren't even close to what actually happens in case of Gai.You guys are talking as if it takes ages for Gai to die after using 8th gate.

Please tell me you're joking?

You die because your opponent caused your death. Just as how backing someone into a corner and forcing them to open the Gate of Death is causing their death.

A last man standing match is not the same as a standard battle, do not confuse them. A victor is someone who wins a match without their own death being incurred.

that just means that the opponent was strong enough that you needed to use all of your bodys energy to defeat them. It doesnt cause immediate death, but it does end with a premature death in comparison to if they never used it and lived out their natural lifespan

First off Credibility from who???? Noob users of this site???? lmmfao I gives No fuqs about what others think of me! You are nothing but internet no names. This isn't real life and none of you contribute to anything i do and vice versa.

And you keep contradicting your self it's sad. If I were you i would leave this argument to the other users. You clearly do not watch sports or competitions what so ever.

Derp derp are you slow? When did i say Gates didn't result in death? Both work differently, not the same in any way shape or form! You clearly have no idea what is being talked about.

No, you're clearly one of the most ignorant on the Base. Lol

You said that RDS and the Gate of Death is not the same, and obviously they are. The main topic of this thread is whether an Eighth gate user who successfully subdues their opponent is the victor, and in that light, it's exactly the same as RDS or any other suicide tech.

You don't even understand the words that come out of your mouth, laughable.

>Uses a suicide technique to kill an opponent

>Compares it to opponent's causing you internal damage, then you dying twenty years later

Tip riding......

compared to how quickly gai could kill a normal shinobi in a 1v1 fight in comparison to how long the gates last, the battle would end FAR quicker than it would take for gai to die from the aftereffects of the 8th gate

I literally watch every sport besides basketball. I fail to see how this ties in to Eight Inner gates?

So in UFC if I Suplex you to cause a TKO and win, then later (hours) suffer damage from the same move (since both heads hit the ground) and collapse. Is the victory taken away from the record books and do they change it to a tie??????????????????????????????

Gai will lose to Madara because of the plot. Gai can't kill Madara. The thread is about whether killing the opponent before dying yourself counts as a win or not. And in this case, Gai wins against most opponents, even if he uses 8 gates and die 1 hour later

So Bogard, you say it counts that Minato, after using the RDS and being stabbed by Kyuubi's nail stood the last minutes alive to make his and Kushina's farewell emotional and compares it with Gai, who can actively fight after he already dealt several blows to his opponent?

After the ritual was settled, the Death God seals away all souls at the same time: [ ][ ]. After the Death God did that, the technique is over and both the caster and the victim die.

Sorry, but in no way this is comparable.
@Bold Hiruzen could actively fight against Orochimaru after he already dealt with Tobirama and Hashirama. Your point?

No, you couldn't win the fight without dying too.

Full definition of a victory:

"a success or superior position achieved against any opponent, opposition, difficulty, etc."

I'm sorry but when were both opponents being dead at the end of the match count as anyone having a superior position? The battle doesn't finish until the techniques are over and once the Eighth Gate finishes, you die.

Simple as that.

And if you can't comprehend how a last man standing is not the same as a normal battle, what are you even doing here?

tobirama and hashirama were simply tools at that point and the only way to stop them was to seal them as well with RDS. hiruzens fight was with orochimaru, and the battle ended when one of those two were left standing.

Since it is not to kill, you won that fight. If it was to kill and you both die of head trauma, it is a draw since the damage occurred in the fight. Bad example by the way. Doesn't even compare.

Tobirama and Hashirama are simple tools in a scenario battle between Orochimaru and Gai. Gai uses 8gates to defeat Tobirama and Hashirama, then continues his fight with Orochimaru, but dies before delivering the finishing blow. Where is the difference?

I literally gave you definitions and you still are lost! lmmfao It is clear you are not the one to talk to, just exit the thread and leave the discussion to the big boys.

@Bold Hiruzen could actively fight against Orochimaru after he already dealt with Tobirama and Hashirama. Your point?

The ritual wasn't completed, and when it was Hiruzen was sealed (same with minato). Rituals work differently.

Since it is not to kill, you won that fight. If it was to kill and you both die of head trauma, it is a draw since the damage occurred in the fight.

So ima change it to mortal kombat, same situation but kill. You are saying the officials of the MK will change everything and say "It's a tie"?????? I'm to threw with you! You make no sense and are just arguing to argue with no logic behind it.

people are confusing damage that causes a later from a past fight that has recently concluded where they successfully defeated their opponent means that they somehow didnt win the fight. not sure how ot works.

if u die in the fight, you lose. if you dont, and you kill your opponent, you win, it doesnt matter if you die later even if the cause was from an injury you sustain from the past fight

And that is the difference he wouldn't die after delivering the finishing blow. That is what we are arguing, OFC if he dies the same time as opp then its a tie.

You can die from spinal cord injury what are you talking about???? It is possible to damage your self while killing or damaging others. Are you serious to say this isn't possible???????????????????????????????/

And no! In a tourny if i kill my opponent, the fight is over and i win. After the tourny and everyone goes home then i die, isnt a tie. The fight has been long over and i have been long since been declared the victor.
If you die months later, that's an entirely different story. Understand what the 8th Gate is for. It's meant to protect something or someone precious to you. Once you open the 8th Gate, you have made the decision to die. After he defeated his opponent, why would he continue using the 8th Gate to stay alive or clinging on to his life? His fate is already inevitable.

Then we're talking Narutoverse time. Madara and Guy's fight could possibly be a max of 5 minutes in their time.

It won't change anything considering the fact that Gai dies in a few minutes. As I said b4 it depends on the Objective of the battle.
