I am a firm believer in Chivalry and believe strongly in womens right and their rights to make their own choices, despite me being a male. It is our jobs as men to treat women with respect and dignity and that means being a gentle man and giving up a seat for her in the bus, train or even in the plane if possible. This generation has devalued women far too much and its time for us to give them that respect back. What do you guys think? Would you be a gentle man and give up your seat for a woman?

Well yes I obviously would but now women haven't been devalued as much as they have in the past. Its important to take care of them or else the world will cease to exist.

This.

No, I'm sorry. I don't put women on a pedestal. I don't believe in opening doors for them or giving my seat up. I won't pay for their meals either just for being female.

I treat men and women equally. That being said, I'm not an *******, and if a man or woman asked me politely to sit down for some reason, I'd likely say yes.

Sorry its time for equality.

Id only be chivalrous to those i deem respectable.

Idc if youre a woman, hot, elderly, young, of different race, creed, or origin.

If you are a kind person and you respect others, i should think that you deserve my seat.

I dislike giving my seat to a woman because that is what is expected of men.
I dislike giving it to the elderly who thinks that they are entitled to it.
I hate giving things to lil kids who are ungrateful and spoiled.

Being chivalrous means giving the others treatment they deserve. Not be a stool/doormat to step on.

Do not mistake that.

Wish to be treated as a lady, be a lady. The world was so simple back then. Wish to be treated as a gentleman? be one.

If the bus is full, I prefer standing by the back door anyway.

It is your job as a manly figure to step up to the plate, rise to the occasion, and give her the seat. If you see a woman on her way to work standing on the bus, you should offer her your seat, she doesn't have to be elderly, pregnant or bearing a child. Whatever happened to us being gentle men?

That is solely your belief and not something everyone should agree with.

I'm just not going to act how a man "should" act simply for the sake of being what's expected of me. That's just who I am. But if she asked nicely and looked tired, sure, nothing wrong with being nice.

This is some cringe worthy ass post

On the contrary sir, i disagree. I think its time we have a matured and honest discussion on this topic, chivalry has been losing its value and form all these years and it is time to bring it back up.

Hello sir, care to explain how i am ''sexist''? From my understanding a sexist is someone who practices sexism, which is The belief that one *** (usually the male) is naturally superior to the other and should dominate most important areas of political, economic, and social life. However in this case i am merely an advocate for womens right, i am not diminishing the importance of other genders nor discriminating against them. This thread merely calls upon us men to be more a chivalrous, courteous, or honorable towards women.

I understand your view and respect it, but what happened to being a gentle man and being courteous? These are the principles we need to bring back in society to improve our community and world at large,

Your chivalrous nature is to be respected for sure, but to answer your question, no. You say that it's our job as men to respect women, but in reality, both men and women should be respected equally. Favoring women over men and giving them privileges over men would only lead to resentment and spiteful feelings. You also stated that our generation has devalued women too much and while that may be true, giving them privileges just because they are women isn't the answer. Men shouldn't have to give up their seats to women just because of their gender.
