Interesting take on the Jubi but I think the Sage had Rinnegan before he became a Jin. Madara unlocked Rinnegan and he's never been a jinchuriki. Also it's safe to assume that the "first stage" of the Jubi never existed before because that was the result of an incomplete ressurection...and the Jubi isn't malevolent Kurama said so himself.
He was born with it... I think

It seems like it. The power most certainly came from the fruit.

I don't think so, it was stated that Hagoromo awakened the Rinnegan, not born with it:

And if we think about: Kaguya was the one who consumed the Fruit and yet she didn't awaken the Rinnegan, so what is the differentiating factor between Kaguya and Rikūdo? Rikūdo became the Jūbi's Jin, that's when he awakened the Rinnegan.

hmm... i wonder why hagoromo didn't inherit his mother's "god like" powers .-.

Thinking about it, I think that it is true that the fruit didn't directly give the Rinnegan to Hagaromo. Especially due to that scan and your reasoning with Kayuga lack of Rinnegan compared to Hagaromo. But by the same token, there isn't a connection between being the Juubi Jin and gaining the Rinnegan because of it; Obito had no effect whatsoever, despite using a lower Juubi. The full Juubi may give the Rinnegan, but the evidence is inconclusive at this point.

The single and thus biggest piece of evidence that we have is this:

Which points to the strong possibility that Hagaromo may have almost died while fighting the Juubi, and then awakened the Rinnegan. He may have gained the necessary Yin/Yang prerequisites from the fruit and all that is needed is the verge of death condition.

How deep does this verge of death condition need satisfied? Probably pretty darn close. Madara said that the instant before gaining the Rinnegan was his verge of death. But why would he be saying that when he was already alive, despite being very old, and not in immediate danger? I think this is the sequence of events: Madara is about to die of old age ----> Madara gaining the Rinnegan----> Madara summoning the gedo---->saving himself the split second before he would have succumb to old age.

Well tbh, the Uchiha and Senju are the Yin and Yang of the Jūbi because it's highly likely that the Elder and Younger Sons were creations with Banbutso Sozō, The Uchiha is the Yin, the Senju is the Yang, combine the Jūbi's Yin (Uchiha DNA) with the Jūbi's Yang (Senju DNA) and one is able to awaken the Rinnegan, the Sage being called both Senju and Uchiha in one was only after he became the Jūbi's Jin

It's like: Ōtsutsuki + Jūbi = Uchiha (Yin) and Senju (Yang)

I agree one does need very strong Yin and Yang. But it seems that only having a higher abundance of both would not be sufficient to create Rinnegan. Juubito, even though having an incomplete Juubi, had much more of the Juubi's Yin and Yang, much more in quanity than Madara, and yet did not achieve the Rinnegan.

Madara had much less, he only had his DNA and Hashi's DNA. This is clear from Juubito's vast scale techniques, indicating much more volume of Yang/Yin chakra.

Unless there is something specifically special about having the DNA of both clans, but then Danzo and Obito couldn't accomplish anything via this route as well. Madara may have had a better fusion, but that doesn't explain the verge of death requirement, unless somehow the DNA took that long to fuse, but then, why would there be a face on the chest? Complete fusion would mean its as if its part of one's own DNA, hence there would be no unnatural face.

Perhaps pain/suffering is the missing catalyst, the Rinnegan after all literally means The Eye of Suffering.

An update:

There are two Juubi's perhaps representing the dicotomy of Shinju Will.

The halves of the fruit.

Perhaps each Juubi is only capable of producing half of a fruit. That is, the current Shinju can only produce 1/2 fruit.
