It's still making no sense. Why punish "sick" people? Homosexuality is a disease in their Eyes so why not cure them instead of punish them? You don't see cancer patients getting the shit out of them beaten just because they are sick.

You nasty. +rep

You don't choose your family...

Oh seriously -_- Poor girls. Love shouldnt be a crime :(

Well it's seen as a crime and what's punished is public intercourse not for feeling gay, but some countries turn it into a witch hunt which isn't really sharia law

That's on them, it was the law of the land and they broke It. They knew what the punishments were, you break the law in any country you face the consequences, I wouldn't have made it public though. But if the act was commited in the privacy of their homes then no-one has the right to break in to their home and punish them for it. Punishment only comes to those that commit the act in public view of everyone
Runaway slaves broke the law, so I guess that there was nothing wrong with them getting punished.....

Anyone who supports sharia law should be classed as a radical

It's actually pretty shocking how many chilled muslim acquaintances of mine reluctantly speak out about their support of certain aspects of sharia law. They tend to keep quiet about that.

Ah here comes another Islam bashing thread, for people to judge muslims...

OT: Well sharia was established because they knew that era would change and things won't always be as they were in Prophet's time. As the time will change rules and punishments will need to be changed as well, but I guess the Mullahs just forgot to change the rules as they're busy fighting each other and calling each other non-muslims.

Secondly I cannot really sympathize with the guys who were punished, because barbaric as it is, its still law and no matter what you should abide by the law. You can try and get the law changed but until its changed you have to abide by it.....

The ideology of islam and the people who observe it are two separate entities. It's very naive to believe that criticism of the ideology and culture behind Islam is an attack on those who observe it.

That's why you need separate state and church
I'm pretty sure that in the U.S. if Christians and other religions could get away with things like this, they'd do it

Just because someone thinks homosexuality is a disease doesnt mean it is,you can't "cure"a disease if it's not one, even if they think it is

Nah, man. When you attack someone's ideology, expect the people observing it to conflate it with themselves. There's been studies where even political criticisms are dealt with similarly to personal attacks.
