[Discussion] Shanks vs. Gol d. Roger

Okay here's my views. Shanks at his current level the same Shanks who knocked out Whitebeards Crew with his Haki vs The Strongest Pirate ever The Pirate King Gol D. Roger. Shanks is super strong and we don't know his full power yet nor do we know his former Captains. Shanks clashed with Whitebeard and the Heavns above split. He clashed with Mihawk and it rang through Grandline. He stopped the war with words alone and blocked a Magma fist with ease using a sword. To me Shanks sounds freaking crazy skilled and crazy strong. But let us look at his former captain. He was the most wanted man in the world. Was only matched by whitebeard. Was the only man to gain the title Pirate King and was a very skilled fighter using a pistol and a sword. Neither have a Devil Fruit, Neither have been seen doing much. So my view is from what iv seen Shanks might be a fair match for Old man Rogers

Roger.... 85% diff(low = 0-10%, mid = 50%, high 90-100%, if that makes sense). That's all I can speculate. He was a man above everyone else. But Shanks isn't a scrub, and in my personal opinion, the strongest Yonko. I don't think Roger would wipe the floor with him.

Hehe, Shanks is my favorite as well, along with Rayleigh. I think this could be better put into perspective if we knew how strong Whitebeard was in his prime compared to how he was around the time of the Marineford War. If he was a lot stronger, then I would take it down to 65-70% diff, but if he was relatively similar, I think I'll stick to 85%

No hate bro, but that makes the question not make sense, cuz now we have no answer, and this either needs more patience, or looking more into this thing....which feels like it still needs more time in the Manga.

Whitebeard was the strongest man in the world at the time of his death. He was also very old which means he significantly weakened. So basically WB and Roger are in their own god tier.

Not just that, but there's even a possibility Shanks has the letter "D" because Rayleigh, when seeing Buggy departing, says something like the Straw Hat looks good on you even more now Luffy. I think the hat symbolizes the "Will" of "D" passing down to next generations.
