What? Kishi took the idea for handsigns? Awww man, that was one of the most unique and original parts to Naruto or any show of that matter in my childhood, but Naruto is still good nonetheless.

Yep. That's one of the reason I find such comparisons silly. Kishi follows the cliche elements from the shaunen genre and that's no secret. I like the manga despite it because of the mythological references and how he uses extensive Japanses/buddhist mythologies and makes one of his own in his own style.

Well I find such comparisons silly bcos no matter what, Naruto is still a shonen manga aimed at young teen boys and thus it would be bending towards likings of the demography it is aimed at ...... But still in my opinions Naruto has better females even though weaker compared to other series females , Fairytail for example has strong girls but uses nearly every female as a stripper fodder (Only one male is used for that) but since they are strong they ignore this very balant show disregard cos they are 'strong' ..... I still watch Naruto bcos though my taste has changed with age (well even I was a boy who tried to throw Kamehameha more times than I will like to admit...) I still like alternate worlds..... just give a well constructed and extensive world I will try to dig out every details about it I can, its a kind of a obsession of mine and so I really like works ranging from LoTR and WoW to FMAB.

And yay for another LoTR fan! lol The movies sucked by the way but I still have them in my collection.

Meh, Kishi just doesn't know how to properly show case his female characters. He isn't the worst at it. Akira just excluded girls for the most part because he didn't even know how to draw them in combat.

Kishi just needed some help earlier on in the series with 'em. He certainly isn't sexist.

To you it is aimed for teens.. in realty Naruto represents a idea much more then other shonen mangas represent.

Kishimoto has set up the females in Naruto in a way he feels like they are.. He is a male.. he already stated females are hard for him to work with.. Same for me.. I'm not good with female characters at all. But the problem is you guys keep expecting more then whats given to you.

Ino and TenTen are 2 characters who could have really had some significance to the action in the story a lot more often then they did. KIshi neglected male characters like Shino a lot too so its almost cool o.k. I guess

Well even great artists have to bend to the marketing tactics .... money does matter.

PLs do realise No matter what Tsunade does not have any Taijutsu style, she just throws plain punches and kicks .... take away her strength and her taijutsu is on par with Chunin.

The females in the manga aren't fighting too much, like in the other mangas ( Fairy Tail, Bleach ). I guess that's the reason why are they so underrated.
