Also take note that fire would travel faster through a medium since it has less surface area to cover. So, in a typical scenario, the fire would burn through the wire much faster than if the fire was released through the ground, since logically, the fire would spread and have to -literally- cover more ground. Of course, this is also dependent on the amount of chakra you channel into the technique to adjust the speed of its performance.

Here, we're comparing a fire stream (FDB) to a multitude of projectiles (PSFT).

Of the two, which do you prefer, and why? Can you think of an unusual situation where you'd use it?

Shuriken can also be concealed within the flames, creating an unexpected secondary surprise attack. Like the flames, the shuriken can be controlled with chakra. For the most part, however, this technique is used as a distraction.

I prefer the Dragon Flames do to the fact that it is a longer range jutsu and doesn't require hand seals. I'd use Dragon Bullets to scorch the enemy while quickly cutting them down with a kenjutsu technique.

For phoenix sage fire technique i'd use it to create a diversion while a clone of mine uses a jutsu such as swamp of the underworld to trap my opponent.

I want you to note the combination of the Fire and Earth Dragon Bullets for that last set. Fire and Earth, when they interact, can form a "lava" or superheated rocks, changing the way they interact with the environment and damage your opponent. Fire and Earth are my personal two favorite elements, so I always try to string them together in my moves.

... knowing that, be sure to use lots of water and lightning on me xd

The last three C-ranks are pretty easy as well, though look at the Flame of Disaster Fire Shine jutsu; the fire surrounds the opponent and wraps around them, thanks to high level shape manipulation. That's an underutilized property of fire; make sure you begin to really think about what you can do with flames.

Yes, the Fire Wrap jutsu is very handy, combine that with a C rank wind jutsu and you have some serious burns.

This one here requires a set of handseals to mold your chakra into a thin, fast jet stream of flames that you spew out like a mixtape flamethrower, melting the ground and burning most things in its path into ash.

If you have a fire specialty, this becomes a quick, one handseal, long range streaming jutsu. Awesomeness!

It's fire. Literally :lol

This next one is one of my favorite jutsus. You form flaming balls of compressed fire chakra (advanced shape manipulation at work here), and use them as fiery grenades that you can throw as projectiles! Good destructive power, and it displays an unconventional, explosive method of using Katon jutsus.

( Bakuhatsu Enhogan ) – Exploding Flame Shots

If I ever make a dragon ball z character, this would be perfect. Some Ki blasts, PEW PEW PEW... Aaaaaaanyway. This seems pretty useful if my opponent is a paper user (Konan{I'm facing a Konan user right now too} :snick: )

Good luck!

Two fireball-type techniques here. The first one is painfully basic, but the second one is interesting, because the fire has force and a "solidity" to it, allowing it to punch through obstacles and objects before exploding. Customs-wise, that might be a good area/ability to explore if you're into fire.

More of a lightning and wind man but fire is cool I guess. I see this being useful for distraction honestly, creating a diversion with this is almost unheard off. It'd give me the perfect opportunity to create a clone and 2v1 my opponent

These two are both destructive in their own way. The second one was used by Asuma when he fought Hidan in the early days of Shippuden. I like it because it utilizes superheated ash to create a cloud which can be triggered by either a "click" of your teeth or a separate fire jutsu, allowing you a little more control than you'd think.

Moving on... Great Dragon Fire is used to alter weather to create rainclouds for Kirin... in weather terms, the heat brings up water vapor to higher altitudes in the clouds, condensing in the cooler upper air, circulating through the cumulus to then cause precipitation.

The second one is similar to the D-rank we learned earlier, except stronger.

First jutsu is cool I guess, doesn't really seem all too useful for me but I like it. It's used to set up for Kirin so that's always good. And if i'm not mistaken, Kirin is only avoidable by S/T or Susano'o.

I like this jutsu. I can see myself using it a lot actually. It would be a great fire jutsu to use when the opponent is under water since the shuriken don't stop burning due to the chakra being the fire itself and not natural fire. But there are some drawbacks to this, as you only throw the shuriken one handed, you are limited to about 5 unless you use the shuriken shadow clone jutsu.

Regarding your statement on the second jutsu: you're right, the shuriken combined with the clone jutsu would increase the scale of the attack!

I like the first one in this group. It has awesome range, and you can control the ghost flame fireball things to home in on targets, surrounding them and overwhelming them.

The second one creates a flame pillar from the target's feet and rushes upward, giving them a harder time to counter. Assume you force your opponent to counter this by jumping up or away from the formation of the pillar. How would you follow up to create a powerful combination?

I do like the first one as well. If my opponent is backed into a corner this would be my go to move.

The second one needs input as you said. Well if my opponent decided to jump backwards, i'd use a jutsu that changes the earth such as swamp of the underworld or an earthquake move to knock them off balance so they don't get too far. Should the opponent jump in the air i'd use the Lightning Quake jutsu that throws lightning disc at the opponent.

Yes, lightning compliments this technique very well, since when your target is mid-air, you want to hit them as fast as possible. And the fire would cover lightning's weakness to wind!

Alright. Now, I'm going to test your ability to actually use these techniques in battle. For the next two I've listed here, I want you to try them separately (in character), as if you were using them against an opponent. Try not to copy and paste descriptions; instead, word it concisely and in your own words.

Kakashi forms a single hand seal, placing the clone in infinite darkness so that it has to rely on it's other senses to avoid the flames, then quickly forms 5 hand seals and uses nature manipulation to form a burning fire chakra in his throat, then sharply exhaling he releases a quick stream of fire that engulfs the clone and turns into a spider that attacks it from all directions with it's legs, severly burning the clone.

Kakashi does a few hand seals, creating a dome of ninja wire that he causes to wrap around the clone and hold it in place, he then does another series of 4 quick hand seals and exhales more fire chakra, this time using shape manipulation to form it into a tornado of fire that spins rapidly, gaining more power with each spin and giving the clone severe burns. As to make sure the clone doesn't escape the ninja wire stays through the whole jutsu, melting into the clone and burning it even more.
