Sasuke knew without the bijuu he would have a tie with Naruto, that isn't what he wanted. He needed the bijuu again to overpower Naruto because without extra help Rinnegan Sasuke = Half-Kurama Naruto.

Sasuke knew the Kyuubi was inside Naruto helping him by gathering chakra as he fights, so Sasuke planned to absorb the chakra the Kyuubi would give Naruto,and he succeeded in doing that.

Then the Kyuubi gave Naruto has remaining chakra which made him pass out.

When Sasuke got chakra from the Bijuu,the Kyuubi gathered,and gave all the natural energy aboveground to Naruto since Naruto was too busy fighting Sasuke too gather chakra on his own.Natural energy is mixed with the users physical energy,and spiritual energy to make Senjutsu,so when Sasuke got chakra from the Bijuu Naruto got a big boost of natural energy,and Senjutsu,which powered him up.

Sasuke powers are different from Narutos because he relies on his Rinnegan jutsu arsenal while Naruto would rely on his bijuu. If Sasuke gained all his paths the same way Naruto unlocked all his powers instantly then the fight would be different.
