Oh please. Sasuke wanted to do that. But team 7 had a part there and stopped him from doing so.

You have a point though that it would his closure and character great. But the way he was led into didnt suck at all. It wasnt the greatest, but i think it is the best possible route for his character.

And for Sakura too. Hehe

Sasuke doesn't consider himself redeemed. This stuff should have been handled before the war.

He tried to kill the Kages, tailed beast, and Naruto(taking his arm). What he did before that was erased by his "revolution".

Kishi should have handled it like Avatar did with Zuko.

After Danzo's death Kakashi should have succeeded his position and targeted Akatsuki. Then Sasuke should have remained with Taka and re-build Akatsuki under Obito's guidance. He should have then attempted to continue Nagato's plan in using the bijuu chakra and later he awaken the Rinnegan after a brutal death match against Obito. Then we could have had a situation where the world's enemy is the hero's best friend/brother. But no, Obito's war declaration just paved the way for the most "i don't give a f***" ending lol :p

The would've only did that if he could bring back 3 people.
NAruto, Sakura, or Itachi.
Why would sasuke use that jutsu on people he knew, he may have become good, but those deaths wasn't his fault.
I'm sure sakura and NARUTO would've stopped him.

What about the hidden leaf village? They bought this problem into the existence. If they had given the Uchiha clan the benefit of the doubt and not blaming them for the 4th hokage's death and 9 tailed beast rampage, shit would be different. A lot of things could've been prevented. If the 3rd Hokage wasn't a weak leader and got rid of Danzo, shit would've been A LOT DIFFERENT. If the 2nd Hokage didn't give the Uchiha clan the policing job, shit would've been a lot different.

Raikage had it coming. He should've kept his cool and act like a true leader. But no, he wanna charge into battle with Sasuke. A leader suppose to endure and shit, but Raikage didn't. He was acting like a blood thirst killer.

If anything, that whole hidden leaf village should be apologizing to Sasuke for treating his clan like that.

I kind of expected him to find redemption in death (his own) - thought it would be fitting for the Uchiha line to become extinct, and the only way for Sasuke to find peace would be in the afterlife because, lets face it... he's not the type to 'get over', well, anything really.
Not the massacre.
Not Itachi's suffering and sacrifice.
Not the loss of his parents.
Not the village's part in his own suffering.

His death would be in either saving Naruto or the shinobi world as a whole - a sacrifice made - and him placing his hope/trust in Naruto's vision.
Naruto would ensure that Sasuke's name ended up on the memorial stone and that's it, game over.

Which would led to Sakura (rightfully) not ending up with Sasuke - she should have either;
a) grown the f*ck up and got over her imaginary love for Sasuke-kuuuuuun
b) ended up like Tsunade, bitter and alone

Don't get why people approve to this stupid thread, Sasuke has no reason to do that since it wasn't his fault that so many people died. It's much better to have someone that can protect the new system together with Naruto.

I never said he was to blame for everything wrong with the shinobi system, but he is symbolic of it all - he is the product of a lot of... wrongs.

Nah, my main point was that I wanted Sasuke to find some sort of absolution/peace and like Itachi, I don't think he'll have that until he's dead.

Sasuke should have died, I think the writer (kishi) didnt want to kill sasuke as it would one, hurt a lot of fans and two, destroy the possibilities of having future material ie animes, manga, movies, with sasuke thus hurt the writing and the popularity.

Having everyone revived would have been too much of a cop out as they already did that and other than Neji, no other major characters died, even though they really should have let Tsunade go aswell and maybe Orochimaru and Taka too instead of leaving them all absent in the end which is worse. Compared to during Pein where Kakashi died, Tsunade was almost dead, hinata was badly injured etc.

I hoped Sasuke would give up his eyes to Naruto and combine the indra and ashura spirits in one then it would make more sense for his sins to be pardonned if he gave up everything and died. I also didnt like how Sasuke all of a sudden had all these emotions for Naruto since they were children and suddenly loved Sakura aswell, this was never alluded to once in the series other than the final 2 manga chapters. He only loved itachi and the honor of the uchiha clan. All this jealousy and whatever he had for Naruto as a child doesnt even make sense as for a large part of his childhood, he wasnt alone, the clan was still there, yet it seems from like age 3 he and naruto were such good friends? why? and in the second last chapter?

I also wish Naruto could have actually really defeated sasuke and was able to walk away, similar to their first major fight at the end of part 1 where sasuke leaves, not that they are both basically equal. It would have been better to show that Naruto is definitively on top and has become stronger through his experiences with people instead of clinging to hatred like sasuke did. But instead they are just both lying half dead? Waiting for rescue?

I think keeping Sasuke alive was really just to keep options open for the future but really, his story was finished.

Giving Tobi Hachibi tentacle that leads to Juubi revival, which killed thousands of shinobi

Sasuke's redemption was forced, then again his relationship with team 7 was forced also, but him dying or reviving people would take away the war touch imo. Everyone who died should stay dead. Although the manga should have made it where sasuke wasn't such a renegade ninja since part 2. I doubt if one act could have really sway people's opinion of him, although over the time skip it could show sasuke helping other villages and whatnot. A more progressive redemption, while detailing what happened to Orochimaru and hebi/taka.

Indeed it was. Sasuke's character made so many twists and changes in one chapter, that the deus ex machina broke. Lol

Eh. There was nothing more forced than Sasuke/Sakura - that just... gah, fan-service at it's worst.

After the war, what do we have? He's spawned a daughter with Forehead and he continues to wander around outside the village. Away enough to be significantly missing from Salad's life in a way that's similar to her class mate's father who is Hokage.

...yeah, life seems all kinds of good or him. It's like he's stuck in limbo. He can't be content in the village, with Sakura, with his daughter - he hasn't really 'revived' his Clan and he doen't seem to be part of the system (for better or worse).
He might as well be dead - but he apparently it was nessessary for him to contribute to the next generation...

Bolt + Salad = a tale worthy of fanfiction.

how so? I felt it was too contrived just to finish the story. Similar to how in the Last, and the scarf bullshit with hinata. id be happier if things happened in the present instead of purposely saying they had all this secret emotion in the past which some how makes up for the lack of detail and explanation now.

Uhm no, it was Obito who revived the juubi and who used it to kill people. If I give someoneva stick and he that person builds a weapon with it and kills someone, it's not my fault either.
