That would've been the third attempt. I would have hated to see that shit happen again after they just fought a world war.

Sasuke already proved that he was selfless by saying that he would use rinne-tensei and honestly after Nagato and Obito both trying to use it it comes off as a "world pls forgive me-jutsu" Neji was the only important death.

I like the idea of Sasuke working to keep the tragedy from reoccurring again and working with Naruto towards a brighter future to be a pretty good redemption.

Sasuke doesn't consider himself redeemed. This stuff should have been handled before the war.

his pardon makes a little sense....I mean without him the war would be lost. but like the rest of the ending of the series it was rushed we all kinda knew how the war was gonne end...but the aftermath of the war, that was the interesting part. but we only got 1 chapter to explain some things witch is a shame we needed at least a good 10 chapters for that.

As for Sasuke, I believe his role in the village would be a little bit like Danzo protecting the village from the dark and rarely showing his face and only really interacting with Naruto.. The Dark night.

He tried to kill the Kages, tailed beast, and Naruto(taking his arm). What he did before that was erased by his "revolution".

Kishi should have handled it like Avatar did with Zuko.

s. Not so great. He almost killed the village hero, Naruto. He was planning on becoming a dictator and taking over the world in some sort of mess of a plan. And it's not like undoing the Infinite Tsukuyomi proves he was a "good guy"; it was either that, or live in the world alone. Not really like he had much of an option...plus, we knew from the beginning that he disagreed with Madara and Obito's eye of the moon plan so, no surprises there, we knew all along he would do it, and it's not something he did out of self-interest, but it's still not a selfless act that proves his goodness. Raikage Ay and the rest of Kumo is still probably pissed at him for trying to kill Killer Bee, and Ay's still missing that arm. Konoha's pissed at him for almost killing Naruto, the village hero. The rest of the shinobi world isn't likely to forgive him so easily, and as readers, it's disappointing to us that Sasuke never performed a truly selfless act in the end, one that involves a sacrifice on his part and one that's meaningful to the shinobi world.

Honestly, fanworks and fanfics have had more effort and thought put into them than the original Naruto ending. I like that Sasuke has to work to show the village that he isn't bad anymore. Instead of that BS "well they'll allow you to stay because i said so" **** you Kakashi! I liked you because you made sense!

I understand Kish had to rush to get 700 chapters out but because of this the ending got shafted.

AnyWay Itachi need much more the World's pardon than Sasuke.

Sasuke didn't kill any jinchuuriki or sealed any bijuu to akatsuki.

Unlike Itachi who killed 7 Jinchuuriki in extraction ritual in akatsuki (including Gaara) and sealed their bijuus inside mazo.

OT: Sasuke's redemption didn't suck, but it was rushed.

You are looking at this subjectively and not considering Sasuke's point of view.

No one apologized to Sasuke for what he went through, having his clan massacred by his brother as a child, its true he acted out quite extremely but in the end he took the blame and stayed quiet (at one point he was willing to give Kakashi his eye and accept death but he stayed for Naruto and Sakura's sake). Kakashi was talking on behalf of the shinobi alliance and he was talking as if Sasuke was not wronged at all which is bullshit.

He lost an arm and didn't accept the replacement, and went to atone for his sins, honestly the Shinobi world, or the village specifically, should be thankful he isn't destroying them because he sure can and no prison cell can hold him.
