True, we can't expect Kishi to draw a kiss, especially in SJ. Apparently this tease really got the Japanese fans excited, especially with Sasuke's smirk and the focus on the bento Sakura gave him, that has a whole meaning by itself.

Maybe, but they definitely understand Kishi's work better than we do. They come from the same culture and share the same traditions as him.
Like I mentioned earlier, the emphasis on the bento Sasuke received from Sakura in those pages was very significant, because in Japanese tradition a bento prepared by your lover holds sentimental value. Here is the explanation:
"When a person eats a bento prepared by their loved one, the preparer's feelings are transmitted through the food. In other words, the bento serves as a vehicle for communication between the maker and the eater. A bento prepared at home is imbued with the love of the eater's family."
The act of Accepting a bento in of itself is meaningful, it is symbolic to the person accepting their partner's love, that is why the focus on the bento when Sasuke was walking away smiling was significant.

No it's eye candy. :lol
Gaiden is already an SS story, might as well go big or go home, it was a missed opportunity to create a shit-storm and it would have also put an end to so many pointless arguments from people still doubting this relationship.
Even though the last chapter makes it so clear how much they hold each other dear, some people want to see affection themselves and don't want to leave anything behind closed doors in order to believe, so might as well give it to them right? :lol
