I dont have time to make up what if's but Itachi said it himself he should've told him the truth. Is there much more for me to say?

I guess not. U_U
Imo that was just Itachi being regretful. To me, realistically speaking that wouldn't have been possible. After what went down, it would be normal for anyone to always wonder if there was another way around it, even if there is none. That and Kishi wanted to switch Sasuke over to the good side, so Itachi became his motivation for that once again. You can even see that when Sasuke is trying to survive after Madara stabbed him and he remembers Itachi's words that he stated about him being able to change the clan.

I like both characters (for what they're worth anyway) and I'm not favoring one over the other when I say this, but imo Itachi was the better brother. Why? Because at least he admitted that what he did was not entirely right and he apologized for it in the end. What did Sasuke do? Tell Itachi to his face that he didn't care about what he wanted. I can understand where Sasuke is coming from, but he wasn't entirely justified in everything that he did either.

Itachi only did that once he was dead. Sasuke only did what Itachi shouldve had did. Tell the truth.

Cute - possibly the only response I expect from you. Lol

I apologize if I've done something to upset you in the past, but I'm not really in the mood to speak to some random as*hole on the internet who has a laughably sad superiority complex over the manga character he enjoys :/

You sure get unimaginably upset. If you make a thread, have the courage to take criticism. Did you make this thread to get agreements? If this was made for a self-masturbatory affair, then always leave a PS for it.

Is this the way you behave, once you are out of arguments or explanations for your OP? Laughable. Better an ******* than an idiot.

Itachi died thinking his plan succeeded, that's why he told Sasuke the truth as an Edo, he realized that it failed and that it was wrong. The bold doesn't quite make sense...Sasuke should have told himself the truth? I fail to see how it would have benefitted anyone if Itachi had told Sasuke the truth when he was alive anyway, considering Sasuke would have just wanted to destroy Konoha sooner. It wouldn't have been the best choice imo.

I still can't believe the basis of this thread......

It praises selfishness.

"Unimaginably upset" lol
Criticism? Was that what you think you were offering me? How kind of you.
As for the others, such as Dante, I do think about they're side, what they are telling me. You however, are just being, well, rude. Did we have some sort of bad argument in the past that I just don't remember? Because it seems you think you know me...
As for my thread, I expected both agreement and disapproval which is exactly what I got. Though, no one has taken it as aggressively as you have. I do realize that Itachi did manipulate Sasuke's life, though I still stand by what I said in the first place. How annoying MS Sasuke was, to praise Itachi like no other yet do the exact opposite of what he wanted.

If you think I'm an idiot, that's fine. I'm getting a pretty good idea of what type of person you are.

Uhmm no no this is all wrong. Itachi knew he failed because Sasuke told him he knew everything once they 1st encountered. He only told Sasuke the truth now because he knew he made the wrong choice and should have did this from the beginning. These are actions from the manga. You misunderstood @ the bold. . Sasuke isn't a lier and he told Itachi what he decided to do because brothers shouldn't lie to each other. Sasuke never knew the whole truth, it couldve been much different.

Both sasuke and Itachi are not bad brothers towards each other. I'll start with Itachi.

Fot itachi's reasoning you have to look at the whole picture not just half of it. Itachi mission was the annihilation of his whole clan. Itachi reward was that his little brother would live. By Itachi making it look like he was behind this massacre for himself, he managed to put all the blame on himself. This allowed him to basically input hatred and the desire for vengeance into his own brother. Thus, Itachi successfully managed to take sasuke's attention away from konoha and onto his self. Now Itachi planned to have sasuke avenge his clan by killing him, thus ridding sasuke of his hatred and making him a hero of the leaf and ultimately bring himself(Itachi) to justice. But obito got in the way and ruined that plan.

Now sasuke. Like others has said sasuke is not Itachi. Were Itachi loved the village more than anything, sasuke loved his brother more than anything. Thats why sasuke was so hurt when he found out his brother killed his whole clan. Now what would happen if that said brother he loved more than anything, was the victim of this story and the village was to blame for everything? Sasuke's hatred went up a few levels because of this. Sasuke's whole hatred was targeted towards the village. Sasuke is not like naruto, he does not have this if you wrong me i'm just going to forgive you attitude. Forgiveness is not something handed to you it is earned and despite what many believe the village does indeed need to earn his forgiveness.

Now luckily sasuke is willing to forgive the village and respect Itachi's wishes, as long as they prove that they will not make the same mistake again. To help this out he wants to show the village how a village should be and how a kage should be. The village can never change its past but learning and accepting the mistakes of the past will prevent another uchiha massacre like event from happening, thus not creating people like sasuke.

Sigh...

It's easy for Itachi, Naruto and even us the viewer to say "He should of just followed Itachi's Will" - Now look at it from Sasuke's point of view because quite frankly? What we think is irrelevant. It's about how he stands. For Sasuke it isn't easy, he trains his whole life, he dedicates his life to the sole purpose of killing Itachi... he achieves that goal and it's fair to assume he was ready to move on...

...and he suddenly gets the bomb of all bombs that village he was born in ruined his brothers life? That the village gave the orders to slaughter his entire family? So basically how Sasuke really feels is irrelevant? He should of just manned up and follow Itachi's will regardless of how he'd feel for the rest of his life? That's also pretty ****ing selfish.

Oh yeah, you do seem quite upset over this.

My first post on how short-sighted your perspective is? Yes, it was criticism and not even the aggressive kind. You have obviously never come across harsh literary criticism, probably ever. What is criticism in your most humble opinion? 'Yeah dude, TOTALLY agree. Rock on. Awesome Thread.' This isn't criticism. Just a food for thought.

I didn't ask for your personal feelings. Where did this 'you don't know me' even come from? Anyhow, you have no compelling case to state that Sasuke is annoying and should have followed Itachi's hilarious and downright stupid ideals, just because you believe so. This isn't character analysis, it's opinion, and it can be disagreed with outright.

My whole point.

How is that being a bad brother? he was pissed at the choice he was forced into by the elders( excluding hiruzen). Don't you get that the Uchiha were done wrong and were right to want a force of change? Sasuke couldn't possibly be mad at the uchiha given the circumstance of their death. His only option was to be mad at the one who forced his brother into that predicament. Sasuke isn't wrong for wanting revenge, for the treatment of his clan and brother. Had the circumstance been different, Itachi most likely would have chosen the Uchiha as well if the threat of invasion not been a factor

Yes, I did misunderstand, I thought you were trying to say something totally different. Lol

Are you really sure that there would have been much more of a positive outcome if Sasuke learned the truth earlier though? How do you think he would react and what do you think he would direct his hatred towards?

Much of the way he reacted earlier. He wanted to know why the village was created. Why do people fight for the village and perform these horrible atrocities for the sake of the village. Are they worth protecting? That's why he summoned the hokage for these answers.
