This man is ignorant, rude, disrespectful and does not give a shit about his team mates. I've almost convinced he wouldn't even care about Naruto at this point if he hadn't received the same powerup. You fail to to understand his character. He is the only one who is being realistic at this point.
It is hard to accept but sometimes life of two people is not as important as life of the WHOLE WORLD.

You also do realize if naruto would be more serious about the battle and they both actually defeat kaguya before she can kill their subordinates, it would be better.

Honestly , if he never did really give shit about his friends, he would have never joined the war.
He is the one who protected naruto from IT and he is the one who is still protecting him.

You can hate sasuke as much as you want but he is the most interesting character in the manga and the main reason why many people actually got hooked to naruto.
If his character didn't exist, naruto himself would not be able to push himself to limits, he would be just a struggling boy trying to get attention.

You failed to see this is how the world we live in is right now.
If you try to go to your country's president , their bodyguards will kick u out as if u are a football.
The superiors never respect their inferiors and the inferiors do not have the right to order their superiors.Both kakashi and sakura are just ending up in their way right now and no matter what they say, it wont help sasuke and naruto.
Sasuke is a master strategist and he currently have more intel about the situation than anyone except naruto.He can prepare a better plan if needed and right now kakashi and sakura cannot do anything except being a distraction for naruto or potential hostages.
Sasuke is cool and calm in every situation you put him in.He knows what needs to be done.

Its just ignorant people like yourself who only look the bad sides of a character for the whole purpose of downplaying the character, every char have good things and bad things about him.

selfish/arrogant characters like Madara can be bad ass sometimes but, in Sasuke's case it's different hmm

i understand the extremely difficult childhood he had but, i can never like a character/consider him to be bad ass just because i feel sorry for him.

This. The whole "misunderstood badass" schtick doesn't work with Sasuke at all. He just comes off like an insecure child with a plethora of serious issues and a whiny attitude. Madara, Itachi, Pain, even Genin Gaara had the formula perfectly but Kishi dropped the ball with Sasuke. He's just completely unlikable and annoying and his story is not believable by any suspension.

He'd also make a shit Kage. He has no leadership skills and his psychotic attitude makes him a liability.

You basically expanded on what I said in my post, but in different words. I agree with you on some points that deep down (really, REALLY deep down) he cares about Team 7, but the mission is first priority to him.

1) Sasuke would never sacrifice himself. That's the reason he betrayed Orochimaru, because he overheard his conversation and was only training with him in order to get strong enough to defeat him.

These are not the words, nor the actions of someone who wishes to keep free from bonds. He strived to protect his team mates and gave the same answer as Naruto, to protect his friends. He just goes about doing it in the wrong way. In a way he's still conflicted with his own resolution.

2) I know Sasuke is trying to protect the village, but he's doing it at the cost of other villagers lives. What's the point in fighting if the most important ones to you won't be there in the end? Those same ones that his own brother protected?

3) Like I said earlier, he's still conflicted with his feelings. He was aware that they were safe, but at the same time makes the comment it was just by luck. You think he would really be disturbed if they were caught in IT like Naruto would be?

Sasuke wants to protect his friends, but will sacrifice friends to save some. That's the cheap way of doing things, if Sakura was still in the way of him going at Madara he'd have went right through her. Naruto takes no shortcuts and does his best to protect everybody. Sasuke makes it a goal to save everybody by completing the mission, but will disregard the lives it cost in order to do that except for rare occasions.

And Naruto is an optimist as well as a realist. He found an answer to Pain, learned the requirement to become hokage and is keeping it in his mind. If anything Sasuke is the optimist here, he still thinks he can become hokage when he doesn't know what the word even entails.

To be honest this is a really good post that shows a lot of insight into Sasuke's character. You really should have put this into the OP. The areas @bold r my only issues.

1. Sasuke is willing to sacrifice himself he always is. That shows you just how far Sasuke is willing to go to achieve his goal. Sasuke went to Orochmaru's lair knowing what Orochimaru was a Legendary Sannin and knowing what he planned on doing. In fact let me rephrase that. Its not that Sasuke is willing to sacrifice his life, its that he is willing to risk his own life. He does this repeatedly and it was even stated in the databook that this is evident in Sasuke's fighting style and shows the depths of his resolve. Sasuke puts his goal ahead of everything, but if he isn't around to see his goal through then his goal dies with him.

2. Sasuke never intended on cutting through Sakura. I have heard that numerous times and the thought of it is just silly. Do ppl really believe that Naruto and Kakashi would have kept quiet knowing that Sasuke was ready to cut Sakura in two? Also, Sasuke doesn't treat the ppl he cares about as a special case. Hashirama's speech probably helped in this regard. Just as Hashirama was willing to sacrifice his best friend for the greater good.

Sasuke was willing to accept that Itachi and his clansmen were sacrificed for that purpose also.

Sasuke's biggest flaw is that he views his goal as the most important thing, and at the same time he tries to make it so that his goal is the only important thing. That in his mind devalues others. The weird thing is that Sasuke was originally the one that showed Naruto how important the ppl around you should be.

In part one that was the most appealing factor of Sasuke's character and knowing that that person still resides within Sasuke is really something I love about his character. I really wish he would hurry up and show it though. TBH, that aspect of his character doesn't seem like the type of thing that would be changed by Naruto vs Sasuke, so I am looking for Sasuke's character to change before this arc even ends
