I agree with OP. Sakura just didn't have anything to make her an interesting side character, let alone being pushed as a main character. It's like if they tried to make Ayame the main heroine.

@ people saying Sakura was “uninteresting” nah, she had potential and honestly it was refreshing to see a female with no heritage or clan get to where they are now, all she lacked was a solid backstory, major fights and some self-respect when it comes to Sasuke. I wouldn’t change her personality or her clan because her character was based entirely on hardwork and I found her personality to be funny

Sarada is the better character because she actually has a solid backstory, a main interest outside of a boy and far more power potential but that’s a contribution that Sakura made to Sarada. If you like Sakura so much you shouldn’t have a problem with her daughter bypassing her in every aspect that matters.

Part 1 Sakura was definitely uninteresting. The way she was introduced, her contribution to the story and plot was major garbage. I only started to like her character in part 2 when there was no Sasuke to fanboy about. And she actually displayed some feats against an Akatsuki.

She was definitely improving strength and skill wise. But her character was immediately reduced to the same old part 1 Sakura after her fight against Sasori.

At least Sakura ended up giving her life saving both Naruto and Sasuke back in the forest. Sure i have nothing against Sarada either its just this OP is doing this on purpose and have no right to compare the two.

Even if Sakura wasnt that strong and lacks the real develompent Sakura was always carrying. And whats wrong even if she like Sasuke? At least she never chased him around and followed him just like Sarada is doing with bananaclone

Whether people find her intresting or not is nothing but a opinion not a fact but me, you and everyone else should be able to agree that Sakura’s character could’ve been more then what it was. Sakura has her pros but she has cons too and depending on who your speaking too her cons out weigh her pros but I agree with the rest of what you said.

Naw Sakara is way better. Atleast when Sakura was around I was still able to watch the series. Can’t say the same about Sarada. She is a boring blend of Sasuke and Tsunade. You get the feeling she will be a boring character right when she decides to want to become a Hokage. Sakura had much more realistic dreams. Her dream of being with Sasuke finally came true where as Sarada is being troubled to follow the path of Hokage since this is a Boruto show. I don’t even know why Sarada has fans this early. She is too young to be judged as anything else but a waste character. I would never dream of being something impossible as being Hokage. Naruto was the choosen one so he made it. Sarada is not the chosen one Boruto is.

You can tell just how little Kishimoto cared for Sakura when every other character bar her had at least some gimmick while she had nothing until she was given generic Super Strength.

I don’t defend Part 1 Sakura that was garbage. Sakura’s development during early part 2 was arguably the best Kishimoto has done with a female. Personally, though, during the war arc, The Last, and Boruto her character was redeemed for me and that’s where she shined the most.

She became a really good mother, puts others before herself, has an important occupation and is so much stronger in battle.
