I would risk saying that Orochimaru is the most knowledgeable character in NV in terms of sinister medical jutsu, so saying that Kabuto had no teacher is false.

Yet he went to Tsunade to fix his arms.

So aside from the fact Orochimaru having no medical experience beyond knowing what makes the human body tick and no medical jutsu to speak of, how is the claim of Kabuto being self taught false exactly?

Orochimaru has no medical experience? He conducted countless experiments, DNA manipulation, worked on transplanting organs and turning humans into snakes. He prepared the whole laboratory for Kabuto.

Kabuto was a medical ninja to begin with, but Orochimaru obviously did teach him more than some basic instruction-book-and-tape healing.

Acknowledge that Kabuto was able to bring Sasuke back only due to Hashirama's dna and Tobirama being there.

You're trying to minimize a huge feat.

It takes skill + perfection to possess the Byakugou Seal.

Then it takes even more skill to channel chakra through the summon Katsuyu.
