It was Tsukyomi. It was the exact same illusion as the 1st time he used Tsukuyomi on kakashi. The 2nd time Kakashi tuned paper thin and melted away as it was a clone. Maybe this was the only MS tech he was able to use or maybe Kishi just overlooked that little detail, but the results would have been the same had kakashi not been a clone.

Nope... Tsukyomi has a dark moon with red sky... That jutsu was a regular sharingan genjutsu... The manga even states he couldn't use MS so how is Tsukyomi even possible...

It clearly does considering he said he was incapable of using MS and Naruto was able to almost surprise attack him during that fight. where as 100% Itachi killed 2 Naruto clones directly behind him due to his ability to read intentions with his MS

Not to mention he can't perform any other jutsu while he is performing Tsukuyomi. He would be remaining still. So either kakashi or Sakura could end the fight right there. Using Tsukuyomi would be a mistake on Itachi's part as it leaves him vulnerable to the 2nd person's attack.

Because Obito must have met him before Uchiha clan massacre and must have taught him more things about Mangekyo Sharingan, and since Kamui is Obito's technique I think he could have displayed it to Itachi, so I think that Itachi had knowledge about Kamui, and speculated that Tobi isn't Madara uchiha but someone else who is using Madara's name in disguise...
And that's why he planned about Amaterasu which activates while making eye contact with Obito's eyes, as a safety measure so that Sasuke won't fall in wrong hands and that's what happened when Obito met Sasuke for the first time..

No, itachi was duped into wasting his chakra casting an illusion on a clone, a feint which there is no reason at all why wouldnt fool him even if he had the MS. Kabuto with scolera was invincible to itachis tsukuyomi, anyone who avoids eye contact is in fact. The manga even stated that the sharingan can detect chakra, but its insight powers are inferior yo the byakugan. And as the byakugan cant tell a clone from the original, neither can itachi.
