Took a while due to exam season but the next wave of Bio rule updates were finished! This set revolves around the Hokages. had his rules updated, as well as . has had his own rules introduced while and have been updated. After this, we will start on, or rather finish, the Legendary Sannin rules before moving into the other Kages.

In addition to this, a new thread was created for training and has had it's own thread created finally. We're working to introduce more things to the RP as well as upcoming events, which will be announced either in the World Missions thread in the NW or this thread itself, if it's not NW based. Until then, have fun!

Took a while but the Akatsuki member bios have been updated, with both small and big updates. , , , , and bios have all been updated. The other Akatsuki bios are either up to date or don't need any actual updates. Zetsu updates will be a part of another group of bio updates, likely grouped in with other Uchiha updates. Next up will be those Uchiha updates and then the remaining Kages. As the group gets smaller, we move closer towards introducing the Next Generation biographies and abilities.

Also, the and the are both under way/beginning and will likely wrap up sometime next month and have many powerful abilities up for grabs. In addition to this, an sponsored by Lili-Chwan is under way, aiming to influence and create new dynamics for the Ninja World. In addition to this, Med School and how it's operated/taught will change slightly, speeding the process of teaching/accepting up. While this is being worked on, there is no current time table on when it will be finished though this thread will be updated when it is. That said, be on the look out for new updates and abilities. Until then, have fun!

A new set of Bio rules are here! , , and all had their various rules edited and updated as well as Obito's MS jutsu. As part of the Sharingan updates, these bios had their rules simplified and added onto.

has been heavily updated, now existing in three different forms. Bios that currently are of Zetsu are to be updated as White Zetsu bios should they pass the test for it. His jutsu were updated as well.

The next set of Bio rules will likely be the rest of the Kages then the various villains of the war. Until then, have fun!

And the next set have been done! The and both received updates as well as their jutsu. as well as has been updated, and likewise have received updates. The various Kazekages already had updates in regards to Sand and as such were excluded. The next set of Bio rules will likely be the various villains of the war, namely the bulk of the Edo Tensei Kabuto summoned, and the various villains from the various films + miscellaneous characters. With these done, we will begin to move into Boruto territory, though keep in mind that many have not been fully shown in the series and as such will not be fully explored in the RP until that happens. □ Sensei Updates □


After discussion, me and the Sensei have come to the conclusion of creating a system where we allow them specific role so they can focus their time and effort more on their chosen field, as well as still train. Here it is outlined shortly;

There will be two roles for each Sensei, a Primary Role and a Secondary Role;

➤ Primary Roles:

These consist of Training, Battle Test Proctoring and Checking Fights. One can choose one of the three to focus on, and be able to exert a large amount of effort, time and quality into the chosen area of expertise for the Primary Role.

➤ Secondary Role:

The universal role of teacher will exist here, for those who choose Battle Test Proctoring and Checking fights as their Primary Role, they will still be obligated to teach, albeit less than those who choose Training as their Primary Role (they will have no Secondary Role).​

Taking a break in between bio rules and the hosting of tournaments, we decided to expand in terms of what's allowed on a core level. After some group discussions, we have decided on a few changes:

Bio:

  • As of today, the previously allowed Third Bio slot has been changed into , with a few changes to the restrictions. Instead of restricting them essentially to 'oldie' members, we agreed to lessen the requirements to needing only an approved bio and at least Kage-rank with full training. Over time, we'll update the choose of bios through polling members for interest or through other means of choosing which ones to allow next.
  • In addition to this, actual third bio slots have been implemented, albeit in limited fashion: requiring official Sage rank, Sages are now allowed to create a third bio slot for their clan. This allows them to have two bio slots and a Sage bio slot for their clan. This is only possible with approved custom clans and official Sage rank of course.
  • Med Ninja are now allowed to have one Med specialty per bio and it can be different. So, for example, it can be Poison in one bio and Empowerment in the other.
Customs:

  • As of today, you can now have two Custom Weapons. However, this isn't without limit: Only one of these weapons can be of Forbidden rank and can be taught to others. Each CW can only be used by one bio each and it must abide by normal CJ limits. Your first Custom Weapon can be created at any rank, but you must be Kage-rank to submit the second. As there has been confusion over what types of weapons have been allowed, after talking with the Head of Customs NK, this is the list we came up with. Any other restrictions besides these fall on a jutsu by jutsu basis.

    -No set of weapons other than dual swords or dual staffs or something reasonable.
    -No weapons that can “cut through everything”
    -No indestructible armours
    -No Dust Release or Doujutsu Weapons
    -No summonings that can use samurai Kenjutsu​

  • Yin Yang customs have been restricted partially; while there is no limit outside of the custom jutsu general limits to how many of these you can create, you cannot teach these customs to anyone else. Customs approved before the official YY rule were released are exempt from this rule.
  • After discussing with the Headmaster of Med School, we agreed on the limit of 3 Medjutsu per mednin that do not count towards your 35 CJ Slot and able to learn up to three more.
Further bio rules are upcoming as well, namely Kabuto and Hiruko and possible minor characters during the war. Until then, have fun!

Continuing the break in between bio rules and the hosting of tournaments, we noticed that a lot of specialties are very cosmetic in nature and were useless. What we mean is things like specializing in Kenjutsu mattered little and specializing in anythingnoutside of a primary specialty and Taijutsu did nothing beneficial. So we decided to expand and touch on what these specialties actually mean. We didn't make specialties for the various KG/HA/ANs out because most already have their own inherent benefits so it'd be useless to give them more perks; instead these specialties apply towards the Basic Fields of Base 5 Elemental Ninjutsu and Tai/Ken, Gen and Ninjutsu. After some group discussions, we have decided on a few changes:

Bio:

  • Primary Elemental Specialty: 1 Handseal with it. Easy to understand, this remains how it is now. To make this relevant still, no jutsu above C rank will be approve without handseals now to ensure handseal reduction is actually valid and useful. You can choose to have any element, including CE or Advanced Elements.
  • Genjutsu specialty: The ability to multi layered genjutsu up to A + A rank within the same timeframe,vthough these gens cannot prevent all three forms of release ( chakra surge, pain, and foreign chakra dispelling it )
  • Taijutsu/Kenjutsu specialty: Increased tracking (x2 tracking). This means the increased tracking from finishing Taijutsu will now only apply if you specialize in it. You're also able to fight without looking in their eyes. The increased speed has been lost and is now an inherent ability of learning NB Tai in general, requiring no specialty for it to be obtained.
  • Ninjutsu: The ability to have one summoning exist outside of duration limit and be able to travel with you. Of course, this will come down to a case by case basis as some summonings are too powerful to allow and Bio Mods will determine which is allowed when checking bios.
    Contracted animals with any of the following are barred by default:
    Advanced Elements (AE), Kekkei Genkai (KG), and Senjutsu.
    Also, F-rank summonings are prohibited.
What these mean is that you are able to have up to two ( 2 ) of these Primary Specialties on your biography. In addition to this, you can have one CFS specialty as well as two other specialties, which can be one Medjutsu specialty, or a YY specialty or if an ability requires you to have an additional field as a specialty ( such as specific CFS requiring fields like Fuuinjutsu as a specialty ) for a combination of 5.


Summoning Contracts:

Keeping up with the current RP changes, many CSC have inherent abilities they can make use of, such as various poisons, special Genjutsu and other traits that are unique to them alone. Several contracts in the series have been able to do this but until now, it wasn't really touched on. Here is a short list of abilities that each contract has. This will be explained more when the posts for each contract is updated ( this post can be found in the Special Techniques forum in the appropriate thread ):
  • Bat Contract: Bats are able to make use of sonar related abilities, which can be likened to be similar to Sound Release but not on the same scale.
  • Bee Contract - Bees are able to make use of Honey, a thick liquid that can bind targets.
  • Clam Contract - Clams are able to "filter Genjutsu", which means they can reduce the range of enemy Genjutsus by one range.
  • Crow Contract- Crows are resistant to Genjutsu, only effected by Genjutsus at least one rank below their rank and up.
  • Dog Contract: Dogs have scent based tracking on the same level as Inuzuka Dogs do.
  • Hawk Contract - Hawks have the ability to see up to one landmark away from their location
  • Monkey Contract - Monkeys have increased Tai damage, having a passive +15 damage.
  • Salamander Contract - Salamanders have their own form of poison, unique to them with the same lethality as Puppeteer poison.
  • Shark Contract: Sharks have access to shark teeth related abilities, able to release and fire them similar to Bone Drilling Fingertips.
  • Slug Contract: Slugs have access to a unique acid that only they can utilize but still very corrosive and deadly.
  • Snake Contract: Snakes naturally have Venom in their fangs, capable of causing deadly effects upon biting one
  • Spider Contract: Much like Snakes, Spiders are able to utilize their own venom but also can make use of special silk.
  • Toad Contract: Toads have access to Oil based Ninjutsu, using it to ignite and burn objects.
  • Turtle Contract: Turtle Shells have high durability, able to prevent damage up to one rank above their rank. This only applies to the hard part of the shell, of course.
It should also be noted that Silk, Shark Teeth, Slug Acid, Honey are all weak to base 5 elements but strong against raw chakra and largely usable by the summonings, not user.

As always, more updated are planned. Though I can't say much now, there will be a big update to both the NW and RP as a whole coming soon. Until then, have fun!

Bio Rule Update (Yamanaka Clan)

Alright, the update none of you have been waiting for, . Essentially anything I could tell you are in the updated rules and jutsu threads which are all provided in the previous link.

To paraphrase for the tl;dr people: the permissions for the ability have been altered slightly and the rules of engagement for how to use and defend against Yamanaka techniques have been altered. Everything is now based on "will" which is translated as the difference in rank between user and target. Bonus points for either party that manages to achieve Yin Release unless all parties involved have Yin Release in which case none of that "Little League Everybody gets a Participation Trophy" treatment. Enjoy

Bio Rule Update: "Bio Skins"

  • No longer requires permission from any RP mod.
  • No longer requires two separate posts. Just post the custom parts of it.
  • They follow the restrictions of whichever canon bio is to be reskinned.

A few fields have been updated to remove the requirements for some of these abilities, namely things requiring Foreman permission. This short list includes (no longer requiring Sensei status and only two RP Mod permission ), (same as MS ), and , and ( require three RP Mod permissions). Kinjutsu Customs can now be created but with permission from the RP Foreman. The tests for the doujutsu will also no longer require death but at least 7 turns to evaluate from and chances of passing remain just as now. Expect more changes to come soon, have fun!

A few more bio updates have been released, notably the last of the villains barring one or two small updates. , and have had their bio rules updated and had a slight update as well. Sage Mode will have an update within the next few days that aims to allow it to be more versatile as well as useful. With all of the Naruto Shippuden era bios updated, we will begin moving towards the Boruto era of bios and abilities, allowing more combinations of bio choices. Until then, have fun!

Bio Rule Update: Puppet Limit
Added to the bio rules:
  • For combat usage, each puppeteer can only have up to four "puppets" out on the field, at any given time. Keep in mind that all the puppets listed in a jutsu count as "one" (e.g., Mother and Father count as one).. Of their four possible puppets, only two can be S-rank puppets. But, by opting to specialize in the field, it is possible to have up to six puppets out on the field. And up to three of them can be S-rank.
    .- Due to his unique nature, all Sasori bios follow the latter, by default (not a primary specialty).​

Bio Rule Update: Ranks & Training
Ranks:
  • No longer based on postcount. In order to rank up, one to three fights will be submitted for review.
  • Official Sages will retain their rank, while everybody else will be S-Jounin by default, to begin with.
  • All abilities, customs, and training are kept.
    But those beyond one's current rank cannot be used until the right rank is met.

  • Threads to Check: |

  • Training for the basic fields is being discontinued. This includes the basic 5 elements and Gen/Nin/Tai.
  • RPers will refer to the posts that detail the new Method System.

  • Threads to Check: , , , , and | , , and .

  • Sensei are going to continue teaching the more advanced fields (e.g., AE/HA/KG, Adv. Nin, & contracts). Senpai are no longer part of the teaching system, so now only official sensei and shishou can teach fields.
    Note: even so, sensei must regain a rank of at least S-class before they can resume their teaching.​


People in ongoing BT, events, and fights will not have their activities affected by these changes.​

As most of you are aware of by now, towards the end of last month we released a drastic change and overhaul in the way the RP functions and how members progress in rank. This change was to address an issue many have long complained about and wished for it's removal - the post count system. By removing the post count system, we had to create a new system that allowed for members to progress through different ways and methods, so we revisited NB's original ranking system. The premise is simple: You and evaluated on from Genin to Kage rank. From here, you complete various missions and/or battles to rise in rank. The requirements for how many missions and battles are needed for each rank are found in the . Missions can be found in the NW Subforum in the .

Alongside these changes, we realized that new members would logically have to start at Genin and this may take them quite some time to get through the tedious process of basic training so we made another drastic change and removed the need for basic elemental/Nin/Gen/Tai-Ken training. What this means is that one no longer has to learn these fields, only Advanced fields. To curb the potential misuse or jutsu, we have created Method threads for each of the Elemental releases and Nin/Gen/Tai to explain how these jutsu work and are to be used. These descriptions are to give newer members as well as seasoned ones a quick place to read up on the basic abilities and allow one to quickly jump into the RP.

We also lowered most ability requirements to reflect the ranking changes as many high rank requirements were no longer needed. In addition to this, we are also revisiting other areas of the RP that may have been neglected with recent updates.

As a bit of a teaser, there will be a second large update to the RP soon - this time at the NW. To move our RP towards a more custom feel, our NW's Village system will soon be abolished and the NW reimagined as a free skate set during the Warring States era, or feudal ninja times where clan alliances were the big thing. This isn't to say villages will not make a return; over time, these new clans can grow and expand into full custom villages to replace the canon ones from the series. More will be revealed regarding this as time goes by as I like to inform the community of upcoming updates or work. Which leads to the last note.

Given the Shippuden era of abilities and bios have been updated and completed, we will fully move towards the Boruto era and the implementation of multiple KG/HA abilities on a singular bio will be allowed beyond just Hiruko and Kakuzu. Of course, this will still be limited as these rules are discussed amongst ourselves so don't expect two doujutsus or 3 AE on a single bio. We do, however, wish to allow combinations that are more unique than now at the sake of losing another ability but nothing is set in stone yet. Hopefully, all of these changes are welcomed and loved. A few more updates have been released, some in new threads and others being edits to other threads. Release has been added as well as , both abilities shown after the end of the war and up to the Boruto Movie arc of the manga.

At this point, Boruto characters from the Academy to the Boruto movie can be created. To reflect this, Iron Sand rules were updated to allow for custom variants at Chunnin rank and Sage Transformation jutsu underwent a small edit detailing how Mitsuki appears when he uses it.

As promised, once we entered this era, Bio Combinations would alter. In addition to the normal allowed abilities setups, we introduce , allowing you to combine a KG with a HA or an AE on a single bio at the risk of losing other abilities. Certain pairings are, understandably, off-limits, such as KG + KG or EMS with an AE.

Bio Rule Update: Ranks II
Changes:
  • The requirements for ranking up have, for the most part, been reduced.

    Genin ➟ Chūnin | battles/missions: 1
    Chūnin ➟ S-Jōnin | battles/missions: 1
    S-Jōnin ➟ Jōnin | battles/missions: 3
    Jōnin ➟ S-Class | battles/missions: 4
    S-Class ➟ Sannin | battles/missions: 5
    Sannin ➟ Kage | battles/missions: 6

  • Now, any combination of battles and missions is acceptable for the purpose of ranking up.

    (e.g., 5 battles + 1 mission / 2 battles + 4 missions)​

  • Battles against those of other ranks are now acceptable too, albeit with certain modifiers.

    Fighting a bio that is one rank below your own rank counts as .5 instead of 1. But on the other hand, a battle against somebody of higher rank will count as either 1.5 or 2 depending on if the their rank is only one above your own or more than one above.​

As we near the release of the Warring State Era RP, we have decided to release other systems and things that are used within the WSE to allow members to become familiar eith them before the entirety of the NW changes.
The clan registration system has been posted and now, larger system for health has been reintroduced. You may remember parts from the short lived system Reborn and I made. Now, we reapproached the system and made changes to simplify and make it better. It should be noted these numbers are subject to change and be updated as they are used. This is because as to me passes, we may find out different values are better suited. As time passes, you will see more posted up until the release of the WSE. Until then, have fun!

As many have noticed, yesterday there an additional Usergroup added to the RP. This usergroup, named ANBU, is a special usergroup differing from the normal village based ones as this group is designed to assist moderators with various RP duties based on where they are assigned. Akin to Sensei, the ANBU have higher roles and RP power, comparable to "mini mods" without the general responsibilities and functions of a mod. What this means is that ANBU are able to do various moderating tasks such as sticky threads, move them, edit posts, and various things of the sort while not Being actual mods, meaning things that require mod permission still falls on actual moderators.

As of now, only two have been added ( Drackos and ZK ) and their primarily function is to monitor and moderate the NW and aspects related to it. This is vital for the implementation of the WSE, which is due to be implemented very soon. There will be 2 or 3 more ANBU chosen from the applications, which function similar to applying for a Village ( follow this and detail why you wish to assist in a short, concise sentence ).

Speaking of the WSE, you may begin to notice threads and things being changed in the upcoming days as well as being removed, so do not be alarmed. To the Kages of their respective villages, due to the VCJ system being abolished, I will allow you each to select 3 VCJ of S rank and lower to be given to each of your members (war prizes excluded, such as Kumo's War VCJ prize). If the customs are not problematic or too much, I will allow each current member as of this post to keep these techniques. If no PM is sent within the next week, then I will choose for the village. In addition to this, the permission based system will be scrapped (as noted in my Boruto suggestion thread) in favor of a currency based system that allows one to purchase the abilities he wishes to use or, as is the case with the WSE, you could battle others for free prizes based on how far up the latter you go. More details will be detailed soon.

In addition to this, more bio tests will be removed, leaving only the Tier 4 and 5 abilities to be restricted. Because of this, the Tier list will also be shifted and posted officially as a RP Guide. There will be smaller guides as well, some created by members I ask to assist, and others by Sensei or higher members.

As the Tournament also winds down, I'd like to apologize for the lengthy wait that went into checking some fights and progressing the Tournament forward. Some current and former sensei have suggested alternatives to how checking takes place that will likely be implemented to avoid issues where rulings differ in similar cases in order to make more cohesive and RP wide rulings.

In addition to this, even if the RP isn't updated into the Boruto era of technology, the plans to release other abilities demonstrated will continue if viable, such as the Bubblegum Ninjutsu, Dual Abilities, and more. These will continue to be rolled out over time. Until then, have fun!

It's no secret that the Custom Submissions thread have been notoriously slow to check and maintain. While this isn't directly the member'sfault, I've realized that due to the mass amount of submissions one could potentially submit across all the threads, one member could be potentially waiting for 30+ customs to be checked in one "cycle". I don't feel it's fair for members to wait an absurd amount of time but I also don't feel that customs should be restricted to make fewer submissions. However, after weighing the options and adding new members to help check customs, I decided the latter would be for the betterment of the RP and as such, created new ways to submit.

I divided customs into 3 main types: General Submissions, Advanced Submissions, and Custom Fields. General Submissions are things like CJ, CFSJ and CEJ: the actual jutsu of the basic various custom fields themselves. Advanced Submissions are advanced fields that many aren't generally able to obtain without joining a CC or possessing a Doujutsu. This is simply CCJ, CT ( Custom Technology thread soon to be made ), and CMS. Custom Fields are categories you submit that have custom jutsu. This is either CFS, CC, or CE.

With these three types, you are able to submit a set amount of each cycle:
¤One can submit 4 Basic Submissions per cycle
¤1 Custom Field
¤ 3 Advanced Submissions

This equates to 8 Submissions per cycle. This overall number increases by 1 for Sensei, able to use this extra submission in any Custom type and 1 more submission for Sages/ANBU, for 10 Submissions in all per cycle. A max of 5 Basic Submissions can be done per cycle.

While this decrease in overall submission count means you have to decide what you're submitting and think more about it, it also means the overall cycles will be shorter and easier to maintain.

In addition to this update, the Permission Based system has been abolished in favor of a system that allows members a better chance at gaining what they seek on their own. By implementing a new , we created a way for members to purchase prizes or abilities they wish to have in the RP without seeking Moderator permission. While it seems like a long journey since the new Storyboard elements have yet to be implemented, when it is, there will be many opportunities to gain Ryo to achieve high end abilities and even weapons. This, as mentioned a few updates back, is part of the various WSE created systems being implemented before it's full addition to the RP. Until then, have fun!

After discussions with Vex, we have decided to alter Custom Fighting Styles, or CFS, slightly. In the past, one could have a fighting style that allowed one to have a small boost to their speed, or their tracking abilities or even granted numerical boosts to their Taijutsu, or Ninjutsu. This was later discontinued but after talks, we decided that to allow these perks of CFS to return, with limitation ofc. What this means is that should one specialize in a CFS, they are able to have special benefits from it. These may range from increased speed, increased damage, higher durability, heightened sight and awareness and related things - all with actual meaning. Increased speed may grant you 4 additional speed levels to your base speed while higher durability allows you to resist 10 damage from physical attacks. This all, as always the case with customs, depends on the specific style submitted and what is allowed may vary style to style.

In addition to this, we have discussed and came to ground rules regarding the submission and limitations of technology in the RP. Scientific Ninja Tools as they are called in the series are inventions created by Konoha scientist that utilize science and technology for battle or ninja use. Examples of these are the Kote and mirror drone.

Technology is as the name suggests, scientifically and advanced machinery and equipment for every day use or beyond. Examples of these are phones for long range communication in the NW or GPS devices to plot landmark traveling, etc. While normal ninja are able to submit this, only Mandalore or Cyborgs are able to utilize vehicles and advanced technology such as missiles, cars, mechas and more.

All Normal Ninja re able to have up to 2 Scientific Ninja Tools, counting as their CW slot in Some cases (depends on the tool itself) And up to 3 supplementary Technology equipments. Cyborgs are able to have up to 10 in any combination. We will wait before releasing Cyborg rules as we still need to see more and discuss it fully. Until then, have fun!
